New Challenge Blog!

My friends Abby and Suzanne have created The Paper Variety, an awesome new challenge blog that starts September 15th! Tomorrow they will be announcing their Design Team!

For helping spread the word about their new blog, they are giving away this awesome new collection by Echo Park!

So what are you waiting for? Go head over to The Paper Variety!

PTT #14 with a few other challenges :)

It's time to party with Party Time Tuesdays!

This is the last challenge until October, we'd love to have you play along! The challenge is to use brads on your birthday card (along with the required birthday greeting/sentiment).

This is very CAS for me, it was tough to leave the 'white' space empty LOL! The images are Danni's Flutterbies from Paper Makeup Stamps, I had such fun coloring them. I added some Smooch Illuminate but didn't get the camera to catch the sparkle all that well. The flower brads are from Making Memories.

I also incorporated the following challenges:
Flutterby Wednesday #119 - open week (just use a butterfly, fairy or angel)
Makeup for the Weekend #40 - birthday card
Get Sketchy #53

If you'd like to play along with PTT, please link your card to the PTT blog by Sunday night to have a chance at the Top 3! You'll find oodles of inspiration on the blog as well!

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Danni's Flutterbies ~Paper Makeup Stamps; Birthday Bash~Verve Stamps
Paper: Flaming Butterfly ~ Nikki Sivils
Ink: Memento
Copics: R24, R27, B24, B26, YG21, YG23
Other: Smooch Illuminate, flower brads from Making Memories

Lasting Memories Challenge #5

Happy Sunday!

I have another announcement to make ~ Karen asked me to stay on with Lasting Memories full time and I said yes! I am really starting to enjoy scrapbooking again and inspiring all of you to get those memories scrapped too!

Today's Lasting Memories Challenge is two-fold..."Take a Sentimental Journey" and use computer generated title and/or text. I have to admit, I didn't quite follow the sentimental journey part, trying to find 'old' pictures to take a journey with is like trying to find a needle in the haystack in my room right now. So....I went with these recently printed pictures of my cutie patootie niece.

The journaling reads: "When I saw Gracie's kitchen, I knew I had to get pictures of her playing in it. I wanted to be able to use my 'From My Kitchen' Cricut cartridge. She's having a ball frying an egg, although I don't think she's ready for customers just yet!"

I used the Cricut Cartridge 'Ashlyn's Alphabet' for the title and the 'From My Kitchen' cartridge for the eggs and oven. The font of the journaling is Baby Boston which was downloaded from the internet, although I can't quite remember where.

It was quite fun to use the computer for journaling, I typically handwrite all of my journaling. I got to play around with a bunch of fonts before I decided which one I would use. My tip of the day is to use spell check before you print it out though LOL! Wanna guess how I learned that tip?

I hope you will take a 'Sentimental Journey' with us this week! Please have your layout linked to the Lasting Memories blog by 9 pm EST on Friday night for a chance at the Top 3. For more inspiration, check out the blog and you can find my team members' blogs on my left sidebar.

Have a great day!

24 Hour Challenge

Every month, Scrappin-n-Chattin has a 24 hour challenge. We pick 3 collections to work with and April, our hostess, picks 3 sketches. Then our partner picks a collection and a sketch for us to use, and then we have 24 hours to complete the layout. My partner picked Sketch #2 and the Crate Paper collection - Sweet Branch for me.

Here is the sketch ~ from the Scrapville Blog.

Here is my version~

Once I got the pictures printed the way I liked them, it actually went together pretty quickly. At first I printed out color versions of these pictures, but they were way to bright and vivid for this pretty paper. The black & white looks so much better! I really love how this turned out, these are the first pictures that I have scrapped of my niece. She will be 4 months old tomorrow :o)

I'll be back in the morning with a new Lasting Memories challenge!

Exciting Announcement!

Guess what?

I have been invited to join the Paper Cutz Challenge Design Team!

Go check out today's announcement and new challenge HERE!

Happy Anniversary!

Wooohooooo, it's Friday!!!

After work, I am going to pick up my wedding gown!!! So very excited...the wedding is 3 WEEKS from TOMORROW!! So much to do still too!

This is a card I created last weekend for my mom & stepdad's 21st wedding anniversary. I think it came out so pretty thanks to this lovely Linen Closet stack from Die Cuts with a View. I need to figure out how to make the sparkle show up better in pictures, the 2 bottom panels are glittery paper, as is the brad. The card was well received when we had them over for dinner on Monday.

I found this fun card sketch from Sassy Lil Sketches ~ (btw, did you see they have a blog hop going on? I need to remember to hop this weekend!)

Have a super day! I'll be back later with a fun announcement!

I created this card last week using ‘Book Jena’ from Little Paper Shop, I thought she was so cute when I saw her! I just {heart} reading!  All elements except the image and scrappers floss are from the Taylored Expressions Summertime Project Pantry kit. TE Blast from the Past Hop #3

Welcome to another fun filled Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Hop!

We have another great sketch from Sankari this month~

My card uses my favorite TE Christmas set ~ Season's Sweetings

My favorite part of this card is the trim on the tree. I finally opened up my sparkly fluff, if you click on the picture you should be able to see the sparkle :)

The paper is from my American Crafts Jolly stack, love the sparkle and shine on the paper....it just doesn't show up well in photos.

I hope you enjoy hopping around today, I can't wait to check it out tonight!

Be Merry, Be Bright

Here is today’s Christmas card, I just love how it came out! I inked up an American Art Stamp (Gingerbread Man) from my uninked stash of stamps and used Jolly dp by American Crafts, it’s so sparkly (except it’s not showing good in the photo, sorry!)  I found the adorable gingerbread men brads when I was unpacking a few weeks ago :)

PTT #12

I'm not sure where to start LOL! I've been left speechless by my wonderful team!

When I asked Di to become our team leader for PTT and she accepted, she asked me if she could take over the blog for this week. This was quite some time ago and I said sure, just figuring I would take a break from getting it organized. Well Di and the rest of the team surprised me with a special dedicated blog post! What an awesome thing to wake up to this morning!

I can't begin to thank you girls enough for the special words, beautiful cards, and especially the friendship and everything you have done to make Party Time Tuesdays a success. It makes my heart so happy and I feel so special!

Onto to the challenge ~ It's My Birthday challenge and it's a color challenge! Please create a birthday card using my favorite colors ~ pink, brown & white. Be sure to include a birthday greeting/sentiment on the card front and then link it up to the PTT blog!

Get Sketchy with CSAYL!

Despite my feeling poorly the last few weeks, I’ve not given up on the Scrappin-n-Chattin EDCC yet, yay me!  I found oodles of Sandylion 3D stickers that I bought a few years ago and challenged myself to use them up, so I’ve been able to make quick cards with them every day.  I made this the other day and finally had a few minutes to sit down and post it since I am feeling much better today.  I started a vitamin supplement the other day and it seems to be helping!

I created this card using this week’s Get Sketchy #51 and the challenge at Christmas Stampin All Year Long to use 2 or more designer papers.

GS51

I just {heart} snowglobes! They are so fun to shake up and watch the snow fall :)  I thought they’d be perfect for the sketch.

GS51

It’s time for me to go make today’s card!  TFL!

This one has been made for almost a month, I made it for my mom to give my neighbor for her birthday.  I so love how it came out!  It was my first time using the MFT Lovin’ from the Oven set, it was fun to paper piece the image!  The sentiment on the card base is from the Sweet ‘n Sassy Stamps birthday greetings set – my favorite go to sentiments set!

To play along with PTT, link up your newly created ‘anything goes’ birthday card (with a birthday greeting/sentiment on the card front) to the PTT blog by next Monday night. If you’d like to be considered for the Top 3, have your card posted by 8pm EST on Sunday.

Fairy Sweet

I’m back with my 2nd post for today, so scroll down to check out my Lasting Memories layout!

I was awake much earlier than I needed to be so I scrolled through the Sunday challenges and saw this fun inspiration picture for CIC70 at Cupcake Inspirations….anyone have a cupcake handy? I’m hungry after looking at it LOL!

CIC70

Here is my take~

CIC70 edited

I do believe I’m getting the hang of these inspiration challenges. As soon as I saw Tinkerbell, I thought of this adorable fairy Jolinne from MFT. Isn’t she sweet?  The designer paper (in my fave colors!) is from the Basic Grey Olivia collection.  I cut out the flowers with my Blossoms Two nestabilities and crinkled them before stamping a sentiment from the set.  Jolinne is colored with copics (E00, R20, E25, E29, YG25, RV11, RV14) and her wings were painted with Fairy Dust Creative Inspirations paint.

Have a great day!

Lasting Memories Challenge #3

Happy August! Wow, it doesn't seem possible that this much of the year has gone by already!!

Today I have a layout to show you for Lasting Memories's 3rd challenge ~
  • Add a stamped image to your layout (this can be one image or making your own background, whatever you like)
I just love my page for this challenge! The pictures are from Magic Wings - a butterfly pavillion I visited with my mother almost 3 years ago...no title/dates since I've already done a bunch of pages for this album (and still have more to go lol!) I have a chart showing the different butterflies that are at the pavillion but I couldn't find one of them to write on the layout.

For my stamping, I used a quote from the Stampin' Up set Happiness of Butterflies. You should be able to read it if you click on the picture. I also used Tilda with Butterfly from Magnolia and perched her on a flower.

I am also entering this layout into the Flutter By Wednesday #115 since it's an open week!

Supplies~
Stamps: quote from Happiness of Butterfly ~ Stampin Up!, Tilda with Butterfly ~ Magnolia Stamps
Paper: Bohemia by My Mind's Eye
Ink: Memento
Copics: E00, R20, YG03, YG23, B14, B24, B26, E29, E25
Other: Martha Stewart butterfly punches, ranger white ink pen, Sundance smooch

Please visit the Lasting Memories blog to see all the fantastic DT samples and to enter your challenge layout!
