Sweet Treats

When one of my card groups suggested a cupcake swap, I jumped right in to sign up. I adore cupcakes. They are so much fun to eat and to use on cards!

I incorporated two challenges into my card - Paperplay Challenges #23 - Sweet Treats and the sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner.

If I had to pick one favorite thing about this card, it would be the fun flock on the cupcake. I always forget to use it! I'm glad I don't have to pick only one favorite since I really love what I made - my favorite color combo, ribbon & stickles, what could be better? :P

The Recipe:
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes ~ Stampin' Up
Paper: GP, Creative Imaginations (brown), pink (stash)
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Copics ~ R81, E25, E27
Accessories: Think Pink Fun Flock ~ Stampendous, stardust stickles, corner punch ~ EK Success, ribbon ~ American Crafts

Fireworks Changito for Cute Card Thursday

I created this card over the weekend for a fireworks swap. Love my Changitos!

The Recipe:
Stamps: Fireworks Changito ~ Stampendous
Paper: GP, Provocraft, Scenic Route
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Copics ~ see below
Accessories: star brads (stash), stardust stickles

Congrats, Grad!

This is the card that I created for my brother's 6th grade graduation earlier this week. Super quick and simple, seriously I made this card in 10 minutes the day of the graduation. Can you tell that I am a major procrastinator yet?? LOL!!

The layout is this past week's Techno Stamper Sketch #75 and guess what, she is giving away some blog candy to celebrate sketch #75. So pop on over HERE and get that card entered, you have until Sunday night to enter!

I used a Studio G set that I bought awhile ago intending to use it on my own graduation pictures someday. The paper is DCWV (dots) and Sandylion Stickers (stars). I just needed to embellish this card a tiny bit so I used Ranger Glossy Accents on the graduation cap, no sparklies for my brother.

Thanks for looking! So far its been a busy weekend, I am going to spend at least part of tomorrow getting crafty, have a few swaps that need to get done.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Studio G Series 14
Paper: GP, DCWV, Sandylion Stickers
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, Copic B23
Accessories: Ranger Glossy Accents

You're Cool Beans

This is the card that I created for my stepdad for Father's Day. I was having a hard time until I saw this sketch last Sunday morning - yes I know, nothing like waiting til the last minute!!

This is SSSC23 from The Sweetest Thing blog. I immediately thought of Gina K's My Cuppa' Joe set when I saw the squares, except I envisioned circles with the coffee cups.

I can't believe I made a card with NO patterned paper! That does not happen often at all! I thought the strip in the middle would be great run through the Cuttlebug and I was right.

Here's a glimpse of the inside. I couldn't find my sentiment stamps so I used Changito Coffee to spruce it up.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a good weekend. I hope to get lots of cards made at some point. If not, I still have a few to share from last weekend.

The Recipe:
Stamps: My Cuppa' Joe ~ Gina K. Designs, Stampendous
Paper: GP, PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate & Spring Rain
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Copics ~ E55, E57 & B21
Accessories: argyle embossing folder, CM circle punch, misc. buttons

SFYTT with Biker Bee

Here is a card that I created over the weekend for a patriotic swap. I just love this cute little bee from Stampendous, he's all ready for a parade!

Here's the Sketch for You to Try sketch that I used from last Saturday. I changed it to a vertical card versus a square, don't like paying the extra postage they require!

The Recipe:
Stamps: Biker Bee ~ Stampendous
Paper: DCWV, Paper Company, GP
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, copics (sorry don't have them written down!)
Accessories: diamond stickles, cricut (george cartridge for the circle), marvy giga scallop circle punch

Do I Smell Cake?

This is the card that I gave to my nephew over the weekend for his 15th birthday. I had a hard time deciding what to use since I don't have much in the stash that works for teen boys. I finally decided on this dog from The Cat Pajama's Smells Like Cake set. I just love this stamp set, such fun images for birthday cards!

I used Tracy's Eat Sleep Stamp Sketch #42 for the layout. Its simple and effective, I like having a lot of the background showing. I will definitely be using this again as it will look good flipped or rotated.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Smells Like Cake ~ The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: DCWV, Paper Company, GP
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, Copics ~ Y21, E27, SU Gable Green
Accessories: Xmas Red Stickles

SFYTT with TCP!

I've missed doing Jen's SFYTT sketches! A new one comes out tomorrow and here I am just using this past Saturday's.

This adorable (IMO!) card is for my niece Grace. Tomorrow she is celebrating her 1st birthday! I am so excited. Her present (a Cabbage Patch newborn) is all wrapped and ready to go, and the card will be ready as soon as its dry. We are celebrating her older brother's birthday too since its in a few weeks, I still need to get his card made. Stamps and paper are picked out, just need to find a sketch to work with!

This is my very first card using The Cat's Pajamas stamps. I've drooled over them from afar for quite some time and couldn't find any local stores that carried them until recently. I bought one set back in March and the other just last weekend and used both on this card - You Say Its Your Birthday (penguin + 1) and Smells Like Cake (happy birthday). I did the cool thing that I've seen recently, making the sentiment look like a banner. I didn't pop it up though since I popped the main image up. Oh and I used more old paper! Yay me!

Thanks for stopping by!

The Recipe:
Stamps: Smells Like Cake & You Say Its Your Birthday ~ The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: GP, Making Memories (pink polka dots), DCWV
Ink: Tuxedo Black, SU Barely Banana, Copics ~ B14, YR16,V17,RV14
Accessories: star dust stickles, mini pop dots

Sky's the Limit!

TGIF!!!

I created this card a few weeks ago for a Sky's the Limit swap. Anytime I think of birds, I automatically head to my Unity Kit - Birds of a Feather. I still have a few more stamps in that kit to get inky. This stamp is my favorite of the bunch. I used Unscripted Sketches #8 for the layout.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Birds of a Feather ~ Unity Stamp Co.
Paper: GP, Paper Company, DCWV
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento
Copics: Y35, Y21, YG06, YR16, RV13, RV14, RV34
Accessories: Labels Three ~ Nestabilities, prima flowers, ribbon & brad (stash)

The Recipe:

Accessories: Giga & Xtra Giga scallop oval punches ~ Marvy, trim ~ Doodlebug, stardust stickles, prima flower

Reading with Whiff of Joy

I really wanted to use my new Whiff of Joy summer kit a few weeks ago, but I didn't feel like creating a card - strange I know! It was late at night so I decided to create a bookmark instead.

Meet Dreamy Willow with Flowers.

I just love how she turned out. I am very proud of my coloring :) I think the class that I took back in March really helped out with my shading and blending. I just need to play with the markers more since I do notice if I don't use them for a few weeks, I need to get back into a groove with them.

Here are the markers I used:
Skin - EOO
Hair - E31, E33, E35
Dress/Boots/Flowers - G21, G24, BV00, BV11

Cardstock is PTI Kraft and dp is Basic Grey Perhaps (I think...it was a small scrap that I found while looking for something else!)

A Cupcake for TECC71

Its been awhile since I've participated in one of Taylor's cupcake challenges. I finally had some time to play this weekend and created this card using TECC71.

I got to mix old and new here. New being my cupcake stamps - A Cupcake Affair by Verve Stamps....technically they are a little "old" but since this is the first time I am using them, they are still new! The old is the paper, I can't even tell you how long I've had it...I made a few cards using the brown and blue combo and still have enough for at least one more card, plus a few more full sheets of the same paper. I tell ya, I loved buying 4-6 of each design when they were on sale, of course now I scratch my head saying, just what was I thinking? But anyways...

In case you can't read the saying, it says "Cupcakes make everything better", I was trying to keep the card brown/blue, not thinking that it'd be hard to read! Oh well, I still like it :)

The Recipe:
Stamps: A Cupcake Affair ~ Verve Stamps
Paper: GP, Paper Company, Creative Imaginations (brown base), Frances Meyer (blue polka dots)
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Bashful Blue ~ Stampin Up
Accessories: ribbon ~ American Crafts, Stardust & Vintage Photo stickles ~ Ranger

Summer Fun!

Happy Sunday! I'm sad that the weekend is almost over, but I am super excited that Army Wives starts up again tonight. Love that show!

This is a card that I created for a homepage contest on one of my yahoo groups. The image was raked to me by my friend Teresa. I get the neatest images from her. I kept the card super simple since I wanted the image to stand out, as it took me quite awhile to color it in. I had a good ole time shading and blending wherever I could. The paper is from an old DCWV Summer stack and the buttons are from my stash.

Here are the copics I used:

This is a card that I created earlier this week using Sketch #53 over at Sketch Saturday. I really like how it came out. I used my Labels One Nestabilities finally! I've had them for months!

The theme for the card is "How Much is that Doggie in the Window?". My doggies have been in the window for a verrrrrrry long time! This is the first time that Stamping Bella's Dogwalkabella has seen ink! I know, I know, shame on me! I am trying to get better about using the uninked stamps, really I am!

The Recipe:

Paper: DCWV, GP
Ink: Tuxedo Black, Night of Navy ~ Stampin Up, Copics (picture below, B29 on the top row at the end)
Accessories: Labels One nestabilities, ribbon tag trio nestabilities, Slot Punch ~ Stampin Up, corner rounder ~ Stampin Up, ribbon ~ American Crafts
