The same stamp....two cards.

The first card was for a Black/White swap. I think it turned out pretty darn cute! Trying to stick to 2 colors wasn't as easy as I thought it would be LOL! I wasn't happy with it as I was making it but when it was finally done, I was very pleased. I used THIS sketch from Card Positioning Systems - great card sketch blog!

The second card is for a sketch challenge on one of my yahoo groups. We used a sketch from Jen Del Muro's blog - I{heart}2 Stamp. One of my favorites to follow each week! For this card, I used very old paper from Provocraft. Its time to stop the hoarding! I really love the soft pretty colors of this card.

*Snow Friends*

Today I'm sharing a card I created over the weekend for a Winter swap. The sketch is TECC52SH, a part of Taylor's A Year of Cupcake Challenges. I also accomplished a challenge from my friend Danni to use an uninked stamp. I've had this set Snow Friends from Sweet N Sassy Stamps for over a year now and I finally used it, now I'm thinking what the heck took me so long? Its so adorable and I can't wait to use it again!

A is for...

One card...two purposes. This card was created for a swap A is for ___. So I chose apple, not very imaginative LOL, but it does use a poorly neglected Stampin Up set called Give Thanks. I also used just scraps on this card, yay! The sketch was for Taylor's Year of Cupcake Challenges - TECC52JP, which you can see HERE.

The Cricut George cartridge was used to cut the circles and ovals. I used my new copic markers to color in the apples and my Stampin Up watercolor crayons for the pail. I'm trying not to neglect my old coloring methods, just because I've fallen hook, line & sinker for my new markers LOL!

Ribbons & Butterflies

This card covers quite a few things...I created it for a Ribbons & Butterflies swap and I used a Taylored Expression sketch TECC52TV. New meets old with this card...old stamps (yay me!) and new paper. I couldn't help myself when Michael's had paper pads on sale for 50% off a few weeks ago. I snapped up quite a few 6x6 pads to try out. Making Memories has come out with some really cute papers! In my commitment to using my tools more, I used the Cricut to cut the ovals and the CM circle punch for the flowers.

Weekend Cropping

I went to a friend's to crop on Sunday and got 7 pages done! I have to say that I'm amazed that I got so much done in a short 6 hour timeframe. We can't forget that I get easily distracted eating and talking LOL. All layouts were done for a weekend crop on one of my yahoo groups, it really helped having challenges to get me motivated. These are all layouts of my niece at 4 months old, about 3 months ago - probably the quickest I've scrapped pics LOL!

I am now officially in love with Thickers. I bought a few packs at the LSS on Friday night and just love the ease and look of them. I used the Basic Grey Bitterweet collection for this page, I got it last week and used it already, a record for me!

More papers and stuff from the Bittersweet collection. All I added was the flowers & brads. Easy peasy, especially since I used a sketch. I think it was from this month's Page Maps.

I love these pics of Grace and Pooh Bear. The papers are from the BG Oh Baby Girl collection, letters from Thickers and the Pooh stickers are from EK Success.

I used a kit from my friend for this page. The papers are Doodlebug and the die cuts are from Oh Scrap. I love how the middle diecut reflects the patchwork in her quilt. Another Page Maps sketch.

I love how this turned out and I didn't even use a sketch! The papers/letters are more from the BG Oh Baby Girl collection. I am really loving all these BG kits, makes scrapping go much faster for me!

Roses on Paper Challenge #3

I finally joined in on the challenges over at Roses on Paper's Challenge Blog. This week it's a color challenge and you have to use white, evergreen & grape. You can enter your challenge card HERE.

This is my first card with a Magnolia image, I think it turned out cute! The image (which I got from a friend) is probably better suited for a larger card but I already had the base cut so I went with it. Hopefully you can see the sparkle in the image, I used my Sakura Stardust pen on Tilda's wings and the swirls and I used the copic spica pens on the flowers and Tilda's hair bow. I colored the rest of her in with my prismacolor pencils and attempted to shade her hair a bit.

Sketchy Thursday #20

This card is for Eat Sleep Stamp's Sketchy Thursday #20 which you can see HERE.

It was quite fun to put together as it wasn't for an particular reason except to use the sketch. I pulled out some way old Stampin Up sets that I bought a few years ago from a friend or tag sale, can't remember which! The paper is more from DCWV, flowers are from Prima (bought 2.5 years ago when I was out in California for a wedding-yes, I had to find the local LSS!!), and I used my Marvy markers to color the image. Oh, and I used a Cuttlebug folder for the background, I have so many folders and I keep forgetting to use them.

Scenic Stroll

I used the below sketch as a guide...unfortunately I'm not sure where I saved it from, it really worked great for this pictures through! The pictures are more from my trip to Block Island last June. Only a few more to go and I'm done!

At first I wasn't crazy about how the pages were turning out but now that they are done, I really like them. Again, I'm using up some old paper (DCWV), flowers/buttons (Prima), Ice Lemon Stickles, and the flourishes and title were cut out from the Storybook Cricut cartridge (one of my newer purchases!)

Beauty

I LOVE how this layout turned out! It took me awhile to find a sketch that would fit the pictures I had...as soon as I found it and picked out the paper, it came together quite nicely. This is Sketch #76 by Sketches by Tamara. The longest part was waiting for the paint to dry on the chipboard.

I accomplished so much with this page...mixed old stash with new. The old is the paper (DCWV), the button (Foofala), chipboard (Basic Grey) and paint (Making Memories Sunflower)...the new is the flower (Prima) and the shimmerz blingz (Gold Glimmer) on top of the painted chipboard. I also, for the first time, used journaling strips for my journaling. I may not be cranking out the pages, but I'm getting some goals accomplished and it feels wonderful!

Today's Page

I should have been in bed a few hours ago but my mojo struck and I wanted to create a 2nd page to yesterday's page. I created this page based loosely on a Page Maps sketch from last month. I kept it simple so that the focus was on the pictures and I got to use more buttons, woohoo! This page went together pretty quick since I still have the supplies out from yesterday.

This makes 2 pages and 10 pics scrapped, I set my goal for this year at 150 pages and 400 pics scrapped. I have another page in mind but alas, I must get some sleep. Maybe tomorrow!

Happy New Year (and my first layout this year!)

Happy New Year my bloggy buddies!

I've got lots of goals and aspirations for this year, one of them to scrapbook more. I printed hundreds of pictures at Walgreens over the last week and am armed with supplies and ideas to make the layouts happen.

These pictures are from Block Island in Rhode Island this past summer. Mike and I went there for his birthday and had a wonderful time exploring the island. I used Sketch by Tamara #77 which can be seen HERE. This was also for a weekly challenge on one of my lists - its a budget challenge and we were to use only supplies we've had for a year or more. No problem doing that here! The chipboard letters (Heidi Swapp) are so old that they lost their adhesive and I had to glue each one on...what a pain but I refuse to throw them out! The paper is DCWV - which you all must know by now is one of my favorite companies. The buttons are by Foofala and I got them at the LSS ages ago.
