Year in Review

It's the last day of the year, can you believe it??? Wow, it sure has flown by. While it started off with much sadness during the first few months, there were oodles of happy times as a lot of you know.

This is my year in review of my favorite cards. I saw something similar done on Going Buggy - Enfys showed her favorite card for each month of the year. I thought that would be fun to do.

So here they are! You might notice a few new cards in here too, with so much going on I still have a bunch of cards that never made it to the blog.

Sadly I didn't create any cards in August...shocked? I know,
so was I when I realized it last night!!

So what do you think? Are any of these your favorite cards of mine? If I had to pick an all time favorite from these, I think June is it - I just love how I colored it with my copics - my new favorite product of 2009. Do you have a product that you discovered this past year and now can't live without? If you decide to list your favorite cards/projects/etc. on your blog, let me know so I can come check them out!

Thanks to all of you for a fabulous blogging year. May 2010 be even better!!

Flutter By Wednesday #88

Hello and welcome to another Flutter By Wednesday!

We have a special treat for you today, we are using a sketch by Mercy of Lord Have Mercy. I had such fun with it!

Here is my card ~

This is Holly Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps, I think she is so cute! It took me longer to color her than to get the rest of the card done, including picking out the paper LOL. I really love how she looks though. To keep the card relatively flat, I embellished the image with stickles and fun flock. And oops, almost forgot to add the embellie in the corner! I realized it when I was about to take the picture, so I added a petaloo dazzler, so sparkly!!

And here is the sketch ~
If you'd like to play along with us, please use the above sketch with a butterfly, fairy or angel and link your card to Danni's blog.

To see more inspiration using this sketch, please visit my Flutter By team members, their links are on my left sidebar or you can check out our new home, Flutter By Wednesdays. Don't forget to sign up to follow the site, we'll start having our challenges there in January!

Have a happy fluttering day!

Pink Christmas

I spent the weekend making Christmas cards (1o altogether - some single, some multiples) and this is one of them.

I finally used my Squigglefly Shy Bear - Ornament Bear, isn't she adorable? I thought she would look good in pink, so I found this K & Company paper that I bought last year after Christmas. It's called Peppermint Twist :)

The layout is this week's Card Positioning Systems' sketch #146.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Shy Bear - Ornament Bear ~ Squigglefly, Amuse Holiday Greetings
Paper: Brenda Walton Peppermint Twist ~ K & Company, misc cardstock
Ink: Memento, SU Ruby Red
Copics: E35, RV11, Rv34
Accessories: ribbon (Michaels), gold spica pen, fun flock, zig 2 way glue

Thanks for looking! Once I photograph the rest of the cards, I'll share them throughout the week!

My card for FBW #87

Here is my card for FBW...finally!

I was able to start it last night and finish it this morning. The days and nights here are just flying by, but I have to say my house is finally looking better so I am much happier!

Initially when I was going to make my winter card, I thought of using Nora from C.C. Designs, but then I saw Danni's card and changed my mind lol...I had the same thoughts winter and blue. I challenged myself to go out my box for this card.

I found this fun paper by DCWV in my stash of stuff that's pulled out for Christmas cards...and an idea was born. Let's make Sparkle Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps into a winter fairy :) I had such fun coloring her in pink, I love how she came out. Instead of Stickles, I decided to dust off my Shimmerz and paint her wings, hairbow, wand and the cuttlebug piece with it. Since I can't find my swiss dots or snowflake folder, I thought the D'Vine swirl could represent snow swirling lol

I used Tracy's ESS #64 layout for this week, it worked out perfect for what I had in mind!

There's still time to play along, just link your winter card using a butterfly, fairy or angel to Danni's blog and be sure to come back and check out Wednesday's fun challenge!

By the way, have you checked out our new home for challenges starting in January? No, well then get over there - Flutter By Wednesdays!

Gotta get back to my chore list! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Wednesday!

Today's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is to make a winter card using your butterfly, fairy, or angel.

Please link your card or project to Danni's blog and be sure to check out Flutter By Wednesdays, where we will be hosting our challenges starting in January. You can also check out all of my fabulous team member's blog links there or on my left side bar.

On the 8th Day of Christmas...

I call it quits! So sorry!

I'm not sure what I was thinking when I decided to do this again, but I know I can't keep up the Christmas cards right now. I will still be making cards as time permits and plan to share them, just not daily.

Thanks to those that have been following daily, I appreciate your comments and support!

On the 7th Day of Christmas

I'm wondering if I can make it through the next 18 days of showing off cards...

Hopefully now that we've got the tree up and all decorated, I can concentrate more on my card making and gift making. I whipped this adorable Fluffles up just a bit ago after making the rounds for new sketches.

I used today's Techno Stamper Lunchtime Sketch for my layout -

And here are a couple of pics of our finished tree!! I cannot wait to scrap these pictures, we had such a good time decorating our first tree in our first home :)

There are many more lol...I couldn't help but play with all the different settings on my camera since its my first Christmas with it.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Fluffles in Lights ~ Stampendous; Holiday Greetings ~ Amuse
Paper: DCWV, misc. cardstock
Ink: Memento
Accessories: E33 copic marker, spica glitter pens, Marvy scallop punch, Nestabilities Ribbon Tags Trio, American Crafts ribbon

And now I'm off to bed! Hopefully I won't be as late with my post tomorrow!

On the 6th Day of Christmas

Another late night card from me!

I've been a busy girl today, we put up our Christmas tree, we are having such fun decorating our house for the season. I've been collecting ornaments for the past 15 or so years and finally get to use them! I'll share some pictures once we finish trimming the tree :)

Today's card was made for a square swap. Instead of plain squares I used my Nestabilities Labels One for my images which are the most adorable Christmas owls. I bought them last year and never used them.

This is the Verve sketch that I used for inspiration -

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Owl Christmas ~ Hero Arts
Paper: DCWV
Ink: Memento
Copics: E25, E37, E53, E57, YR68, R89, YG67
Accessories: Nestabilities Labels One, ribbon (Michaels), Carrara Marble glitter by Martha Stewart, prima flowers, brad from stash

On the 5th Day of Christmas

Hi friends!

Sorry I'm so late with my Christmas post today. I had a very busy morning and afternoon, and then a lazy evening spent watching TV. Did anyone watch the Hallmark movie "Mrs. Miracle". It was based on Debbie Macomber's book and it was so cute! I really enjoyed it.

Here is the quick card that I whipped up after the movie. I found my fun flock to use on Santa's beard :)

During commercials, I checked The Daily Dare for today's challenges and found this SFYTT sketch to use, one of my favorite sites to play along with.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Candy Cane Santa ~ Hero Arts, Holiday Greetings ~ Amuse
Paper: DCWV, PTI, Paper Co.
Ink: Memento
Copics: R46, R89, N7, R01, R20
Accessories: Marvy punches, fun flock, spica glitter pen, Stampin Up ticket punch

Make a Wish!

TGIF!

It was a busy day and an even busier night. Today is my mom's birthday, so after dinner I had to make her a quick card since I didn't do it earlier this week. I'm not sure that I like it, but she did and that's all that counts. I think its because the green don't completely match...

Here is the PCP sketch that I used:

And I can finally share this Fluffles card that I sent Terry for her birthday which was earlier this week. I love how this one came out, purple is one of her favorite colors, so I used my BG Eva paper pad.

Here is a close-up of the image. I popped up the cupcake and I also layered the hat.

I used this sketch from Sweet Sketch Sunday, love their sketches!!

Supplies Used:
Card 1 -
Stamps: Fluffles Cupcake ~ Stampendous
Paper: Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin Up Certainly Celery
Copics: E35, E41, YG03, BG01, RV21, E27
Accessories: Cuttlebug birthday folder, Nestabilities Labels One, spica glitter pens

Card 2 -
Stamps: Fluffles Cupcake ~ Stampendous; Hero Arts Birthday Messages
Paper: Basic Grey Eva
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Copics: T1, T3, E35, E37, V04, V15, E53, RV23
Accessories: Marvy punches, pop dots, spica glitter pens

Thanks for looking!

On the 4th Day of Christmas

I have two cards to share with you. Now how does that happen when I don't have any cards ready for Days 5-25 yet?? Well I had a sketch in mind when I made the first card and then when I saw part of the dp cut out for the 2nd card, it just worked out not to follow the sketch and to use the dp as my embellishing.

Meet Tilda with Hood...images are from an image swap I was in earlier this year. So glad I saved them to use for Christmas.

Here are the cards:
(You should be able to click on the picture to make it bigger!)

This is the sketch that I used for the first card:

Ok, so I made these cards a month ago at a crop. I saved the glitter for when I was home since I didn't want to get messy in someone else's house. I initially tried Flower Soft for the coat trim and it looked stupid...I really don't know how to use it and it frustrates the heck out of me! I tried using the quickie glue pen, the Zig 2 way pen and then I put stickles on and put the flower soft on top of it...yuck, yuck and yuck. I was able to scrape it off and just put stickles on. I guess I need to look up some FS tutorials because I was really hoping to use some on my Christmas cards! I do have some white flocking that would have worked...if I knew where it was lol.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Tilda with hood ~ Magnolia Stamps; sentiments ~ Amuse Holiday Greetings
Paper: DCWV, misc. cardstock
Ink: Memento for the sentiments
Copics: E00, N5, N7, R81, E35, E25, E27, R46
Accessories: prima flowers, frosted lace stickles, Stampin Up ticket punch, brads from my stash

Thanks for looking. I'll be back later with a birthday card to share.

Tilda Blowing Hearts

Today Sweet N Sassy Stamps is hosting Digi Day at SNR Card Universe. I decided to play along tonight, the challenge is "Near to my Heart (use hearts in some way...paper, stamps, hand drawn or even the word OR use an image that depicts the theme)".

Seeing as most of my stamps are still packed and I couldn't find much else with hearts (not even my digis!), I decided to use a Tilda blowing hearts image that I had out.

I think she turned out pretty cute seeing as I didn't have a plan when I started the card and I was so proud of myself for not using a sketch!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Tilda Blowing Hearts ~ Magnolia, Happy Wishes ~ Hero Arts
Paper: Basic Grey Sultry
Ink: Memento Rosebud, Tuxedo Black
Copics: Roo, Ro1, YG03, YG25, RV21, E25, E27, E37
Accessories: Nestabilities Labels 4, stardust pen, ribbon from my stash

Thanks for looking! I'll be back in the morning with the 4th Day of Christmas card!

On the 3rd Day of Christmas

I bring you one of my favorite monkeys!

Here is Changito Santa paired with my favorite new Christmas paper - BG Eskimo Kisses.

This was a fun and fast card to create and here is the sketch that I used:

Stamp: Changito Santa ~ Stampendous, Amuse Holiday Greetings
Paper: BG Eskimo Kisses
Ink: Memento
Copics: N7, R89, E25, gold spica pen

Welcome to the 2nd Day of Christmas!

Here is the sketch that I used:

Supplies Used:
Stamp: carolers ~ Amuse, sentiment ~ Amuse Holiday Greetings

Ink: Memento
Copics: E53, RV11, E00, T1, T3, G99, R89

Stop back tomorrow for Day 3 and another share or two :)

Flutter By Wednesday #86

It's time for another Flutter By Wednesday! This week is just flying by!

Before I show you my card I have a few announcements:
  • Our fabulous guest designer this week is Mercy Kerin, have you seen her wonderful sketch challenges on her blog, Lord Have Mercy? I love playing along, in fact, I'll have a card to share tomorrow that I made last night using this week's sketch. She also does fab DT work for quite a few popular companies, one of my favorite's being The Greeting Farm. Mercy has a lovely creation to share with us today, be sure to check her blog and Danni's blog to see it!
  • Let's give Kimberly a big flutter by welcome to our team! Welcome Kim, so glad to have you aboard!!
  • And the biggest news...the Flutter By challenges are getting their very own blog starting in January!! Check out Flutter By Wednesday and sign up to be a follower so you don't miss out!
And now on to my card, I had such fun with it! There was no extra challenge this week, just use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card or project.

I used Wendy Papillon by Stamping Bella, for the very first time. I've had her for a long time, stamped a bunch of images and then never used them. When I saw this butterfly paper from my BG Urban Prairie stack, I knew I had to use her. Fun fact...I colored her with R11 initially, it was supposed to be RV11 and I wasn't paying attention until I started coloring...oops! So I went back over her with the RV11 and didn't like it, I then colored on top of that with RV14 and love how it turned out.

Lookie, I decorated the inside a bit! I rarely do this and hope to remember to do it more often.
I used my favorite Hero Arts Thinking of You set for the sentiment on the front and both stamps on the inside.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Wendy Pappilon ~ Stamping Bella, Thinking of You ~ Hero Arts
Paper: Basic Grey Urban Prairie
Ink: Memento
Copics: E00, E41, Y35, E25, E37, B01, RV11, RV14, R11
Accessories: Crystal stickles

Thanks for fluttering by! Please visit my teammates' to see their fab creations, links are on my left sidebar and you can find them on the Flutter By Wednesday blog. If you would like to participate, please link your butterfly, fairy or angel card/project to Danni's blog using Mister Linky!

Stop by later for my 2nd Day of Christmas card!

On the 1st Day of Christmas

Welcome to my 2nd annual 25 Days of Christmas!

I had so much fun doing this last year that I decided to do it again this year. I started making cards about a month ago to showcase throughout the 25 Days of Christmas.

Today's card I like to call "Beary Christmas". I got this image from someone else last Christmas, so I don't know his actual name or manufacturer. If you know, please leave it in the comments section!
I used SC249 for the layout, along with DCWV paper from one of the many Christmas stacks I own. The adorable buttons are from a big mixed pack of round/shaped buttons that I got last year at Michaels on clearance.

Supplies Used:
Stamp: Image from someone else, sentiment from AMuse Holiday Greetings
Paper: DCWV, Paper Company
Copics: E25, E27, R81, YG17
Accessories: Nestabilities Labels 4, buttons, stardust pen

Come back tomorrow to Day #2 and Flutter By Wednesday!

A Bouncing Baby Buggy

Happy Black Friday!

Did you shop til you dropped? I certainly did, lots of good deals out there and I managed to get everything on my list (and then some lol!!)

I'm sharing a card that I made a few weeks ago for a friend of mine on a Yahoo group. When I saw this adorable bouncing buggy from Squigglefly, I had to get it.

The new one did baby's room in black and white and it looks so very cool. When I found this Imaginisce paper in my stash, I knew it was perfect!

Here is the SFYTT sketch that I used.

And for once, I decorated the inside.
The sentiments are from the Congrats set from Stampin' Up. First time inked!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Bouncing Buggy ~ Squigglefly, Congrats ~ Stampin' Up
Paper: Imaginisce
Ink: Memento (for the inside), copics: RV11, N7

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

When I think about this last year, I get all teary eyed....happy tears, of course! I have so much to be thankful for this year...wonderful family and friends, without them I don't know where I would be...they have helped me become the person I am today. I am thankful for my new house and engagement. I am thankful that I am still working. I'm thankful for the wonderful online community of friends I have made and to those that have helped me grow as an artist this year. Your encouragement and support means the world to me!

Here are the last of the Thanksgiving cards to share:

Here is Riley with his turkey. The layout was a sketch challenge in one of my card groups. My favorite thing is the buttons, I finally bought some Scrapper's Floss to finish them off.

This is Indian Sadie from C.C. Designs. I used Unscripted Sketches #31 for the layout.

And last, but not least:

This adorable mouse is from Great Impressions. I bought him last year and never used him. I couldn't let another holiday go by without making a card with him. The layout is TESC91.

I hope you have all a blessed holiday!
