My card for FBW #87

Here is my card for FBW...finally!

I was able to start it last night and finish it this morning. The days and nights here are just flying by, but I have to say my house is finally looking better so I am much happier!

Initially when I was going to make my winter card, I thought of using Nora from C.C. Designs, but then I saw Danni's card and changed my mind lol...I had the same thoughts winter and blue. I challenged myself to go out my box for this card.

I found this fun paper by DCWV in my stash of stuff that's pulled out for Christmas cards...and an idea was born. Let's make Sparkle Fairy from Paper Makeup Stamps into a winter fairy I had such fun coloring her in pink, I love how she came out. Instead of Stickles, I decided to dust off my Shimmerz and paint her wings, hairbow, wand and the cuttlebug piece with it. Since I can't find my swiss dots or snowflake folder, I thought the D'Vine swirl could represent snow swirling lol

I used Tracy's ESS #64 layout for this week, it worked out perfect for what I had in mind!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

When I think about this last year, I get all teary eyed....happy tears, of course! I have so much to be thankful for this year...wonderful family and friends, without them I don't know where I would be...they have helped me become the person I am today. I am thankful for my new house and engagement. I am thankful that I am still working. I'm thankful for the wonderful online community of friends I have made and to those that have helped me grow as an artist this year. Your encouragement and support means the world to me!

Here is Riley with his turkey. The layout was a sketch challenge in one of my card groups. My favorite thing is the buttons, I finally bought some Scrapper's Floss to finish them off.

This is Indian Sadie from C.C. Designs. I used Unscripted Sketches #31 for the layout.

And last, but not least:

This adorable mouse is from Great Impressions. I bought him last year and never used him. I couldn't let another holiday go by without making a card with him. The layout is TESC91.

Try It Out Tuesday #44

I finally did it!!! I participated in a Try It Out Tuesday over at Follow Your Heart, the store blog for Susana's Card Art and Card Design.

Challenge #44 is "We've Got the Blues" and you were to use blues and one neutral or metallic. I chose to use gold since I wanted to use this Winter image (by Victoria Case for SCACD) and didn't think a silver dog would work lol. I'm not sure why the brad looks black in my picture, but I swear it's gold! It must be the lighting in my dining room.


The base card is a DCWV glittered card, got them on clearance a few years ago. I found them last night while looking for something else and the blues were perfect for what I had in mind! I used a makeup sponge and sponged SU Tempting Turquoise around Winter while she was still in the nestie and then I colored her with my copics (list below). After everything was colored and glued down, I used my Zig 2 way glue pen and add Martha Stewart glitter in Mica Flake (snow) and Carrara Marble (coat trim).

Card Sketch #95

Here is a birthday card that I created for my dear friend Sally's 30th birthday yesterday. She loves sunflowers so whenever I see sunflower stamps, I usually pick them up

I used Card Sketch #95 from the Sketches by Tamara blog and the stamp is from Great Impressions, one of my favorite stamp companies.
