Last Challenge of the Year for PaperCutz!

Today is the last PaperCutz challenge of the year. The team is taking a break over the holidays. I hope you will join us for some fun this week!

Our challenge for you is to create a card, layout or craft project for New Year's using a banner. I had the hardest time with this LOL...the banner part was easy but the New Year's part?? I couldn't decide on paper and then I couldn't find the stamp set I wanted to use. Plan B was put into action!

Here is my take on the challenge~

I used Basic Grey Jovial paper and the banner is cut using the Papertrey banner dies, love them! The banner string and numbers are from the Papertrey Banner Builder stamp set. The champagne glasses and sentiment are from an older Angel Company set that has never seen ink until last night. So I got to mix old and new on my card, yay!

You can enter your creation and check out the rest of the design team samples HERE.

PaperCutz #71

TGIF!!

Today's PaperCutz challenge is to create a card, layout or craft project using a hand stamped, digital stamp, or Cricut cut snowflake or snowman...boy did I have a tough time picking what to use LOL. I *might* have a few too many snowmen stamps!

The image I finally picked is one that I've had printed forever from Tiddly Inks. It's called Something Warm and a super bargain at $1.00! I love the non-traditional colored paper from the Snow Day collection by Crate Paper. The snow is from Martha Stewart, as are the snowflake punches. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts set and was stamped on a Stampin Up punch out.

PMS Fan Blog Hop!

Welcome to my stop on the PMS Fan Blog Hop! I hope you are having a wonderful time hopping around seeing all the great holiday & winter creations! You should have arrived here from Maria's blog, if not, please start at the Paper Makeup Stamps blog to see what you've been missing out on!

My card uses an image from the new Christmas Cheer set, just love these ornaments! Now I bet that those who know me expected to see a fairy right? He he, have to switch it up once in awhile. The embossing is done with a new Sizzix folder and the dp is Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather. I think the gold accents are a nice touch.

Don't forget to leave comments during the hop, you could win a grab bag full of stamp goodies! Your next stop on the hop is Anita!

PTT #24

Happy Tuesday!

Today's Party Time Tuesdays challenge is to create a birthday card and include one or more balloons on it (plus the required birthday wording on your card front!).

Now when I envisioned my card, I really thought I'd be using birthday balloons....but in my messy room, the Unity Love in the Air set was the first one that I came across with a balloon in it....even more perfect is I found this American Crafts City Park paper. Love how this turned out!

Christmas with 2 patterned papers!

Today's PaperCutz challenge is to create a Christmas card, project or layout using 2 kinds of patterned papers.

For my card, I cut into my Basic Grey Jovial pad and used one of the coordinating woolies! Fun, fast & easy card using an equally fun sketch that I found - ESS #110. Love Tracy's sketches and I don't get to use them often enough! I also finally used the Martha Stewart snowflake punch that my DH got me for my birthday in August. The sentiment is from a Hero Arts holiday sayings set.

It's Party Time!

I'm a little late to the party this week but here is my card! I had to clear a path to my printer so that I could print the images out and then clear a small spot to work on my desk...my scraproom is a MESS! I took pictures but they are way too embarrassing to post!! I need more time in my day so I can finish getting everything back where it belongs.

Back to the reason you are here, it's Party Time Tuesdays! This week it's the popular Anything Goes Birthday challenge, please visit the blog for all the details and samples from the design team.

I made this for my stepdad's birthday tomorrow. I think it will crack him up! The image is Gus from Bugaboo Stamps and the coordinating sentiment came with him.

I'll be back in a few days with a new PaperCutz challenge!

Guest Designing with Unscripted Sketches!

Good morning!

Did everyone enjoy their Black Friday? I did, most of my shopping is done. My hubby and dog (and I, ha ha) are very spoiled LOL!

Today I am sharing a card I made for a Guest Designer spot at Unscripted Sketches.

Here is the sketch~

And my take on it~as you can see, I flipped the sketch.

The quote is from Paper Makeup Stamps and the paper, border, and candy dots are all from a Taylored Expressions Project Pantry kit. These kits are so great for fast cards!

Anything Goes for PaperCutz #69!

While you are reading this, I am one of those early morning shoppers that is out and about. Crazy I know LOL!

Today's PaperCutz challenge is Anything Goes!

I was originally going to make a card featuring shopping to celebrate Black Friday, however I am in the midst of reorganizing my craft room after I had to move some stuff around for electrical work that had to be done last weekend. I came across an American Crafts modern album that I bought a few years ago to alter for our Philadelphia mini vacation and never got around to getting it done. I decided while cleaning that it's time to really buckle down and get stuff made.

I used paper from the Basic Grey Boxer collection and modge podged it onto the cardboard. The state of Pennsylvania was cut with the Cricut 50 States cartridge and the text was cut using Ashlyn's Alphabet. A few embellishments from my stash were added and it's done! Now I can start adding the pages of the trip that have been scrapped for ages (and hopefully this will motivate me to finish the rest of the pages LOL!)

Down on the Farm

I made two cards today yay! You'll see the first one on Tuesday for Party Time Tuesdays!

Here is the second card that I created~it's for a Down on the Farm swap. I just had to sign up so that I could use my Taylored Expressions' Udderly Sweet stamp set & Garden Variety Project Pantry kit for the first time! All of the paper (except the brown) and embellishments are from the kit. I went old school too by using decorative scissors for the 'grass'.

I also tried something new, the Cricut Design Studio. I've had the software for about 2 or 3 years and never used it. I cut the fence from the Wall Decor & More cartridge at 2.75 high & 5.5 wide. It was great to be able to set the exact size - not sure why I waited so long to play around with it!

Our New Addition!

Two weeks ago, we brought home a new addition! We attended an adoption event held by the SPCA of CT and found this little cutie to take home with us.

We named her Amber and she is an approximately 8 month old terrier mix. She drives me absolutely crazy since I've never dealt with puppies before but we'll keep her LOL. Trying to get her to sit for pics isn't easy either...guess I need to train her that her new mommy is a scrapper and must be able to take pics for her book!

Please note - not all pics are the greatest quality since they were all taken with my cell phone!

Shortly after bringing her home

Her new coat - she doesn't like it very much lol, always tries to shake it off!

Attempt #1 at giving her a bath with waterless bath spray. Attempt #2 went much better with Mike holding her and me doing the spraying LOL. We don't have a tub so we'll need to take her somewhere for a proper bathing/grooming lol.

Out in the leaves one morning

Her first vet visit last week...as sick as I was, I still went for photo ops LOL!

Trying to weigh herself

Getting checked out by the vet

Finally sitting still for a picture!

Now to get all the pictures I've taken uploaded for printing so I can start scrapping her. I have tons of the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection for her book.

The Wedding...finally!

I am finally starting to feel better...what a long road it's been!! I started with a cold on 9/30 and it turned into bronchitis and has taken 3 rounds of antibiotics and oodles of other meds to get me on the road to recovery.

I've been wanting to blog wedding pictures for those that didn't see them on facebook, so here they are...you can click on them to see them bigger!

We rented a lodge from a small town about a half hour from where we live, it overlooked a beautiful lake. The weather was perfect!

Yay, we did it!!

Our wedding party
(Mike's best man, Mike, me, my MOH sister and MOH bff)

Some of our formal pictures taken by Mike's cousin:

One of my favorites of my dress

My favorite picture of me!

My sister's gift to us was the cupcakes from The Sugar Bakery &
she made us a small cake to cut

My favorite DIY details! I made the placecards & bookmarks and my dear friends Pat & Dee took care of the little favor boxes and filled them with Hershey's Hugs & Kisses.

The sign in table - I made 4 scrapbook pages for people to sign...would love to read them but I need to find them first LOL!! I think they are still packed up with some wedding stuff.

It's Fall at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday!

Just a quick note before the challenge...still sick, went back to the doctor's yesterday and I have bronchitis...so I will be somewhat MIA as I try to finally kick this crap that's been kicking my butt for the last 5 weeks.

This week's challenge at Stamp, Scrap & Doodle Saturday is FALL, my favorite time of year! We are sponsored by Inktegrity, for your chance to win the prize, please click HERE to enter your creation!

For my card, I used one of my newer Riley stamps....not really thrilled with this card as I just couldn't figure out what I wanted to do and just had to 'get it done'. The paper is from the Apple Cider collection by Imaginisce and the buttons are from the Basic Grey Pyrus collection.

Back to resting...which is really boring but necessary LOL

To Sew or Not to Sew?

Today's Lasting Memories Challenge is sewing!

I do not sew...that's one crafty talent that I do not possess, lucky for me real or faux sewing/stitching goes. I searched through my stash and came upon some DCWV stitching rub-ons. Score!

So here is my challenge layout~

Very clean and simple...the picture is another from Magic Wings. Paper is from the My Mind's Eye Bohemia collection. Title is made from Thickers.

To play along and see what the rest of the team created, please check out the Lasting Memories blog!
