Scrapbook Saturday is back!

I finally have something to share on Scrapbook Saturday!

Last Saturday I spent the day at the Papercraft Clubhouse and crafted the day away with some good friends.

I decided to share all 4 pages at once since they are for the same album. I did use sketches for all of them but I was a slacker and didn't write them down lol.

I attended my first scrapbook retreat in San Antonio, TX in 2006 and these are just some of the photos that I and the rest of the girls took!

 {I think this one is my fave!}

My first Disney layout!! {TPV Guest Designer Post!}

I'm so happy to announce that I am the Guest Designer at The Paper Variety this week!!  I found out when I was on the bus from the Magic Kingdom to our hotel at like 1 a.m. our first night there LOL! Riding the bus was my time to check in and see what was going on since we didn't have a good signal at the hotel.

When I got home and saw my assignment, I may have squealed a bit.  The sketch from Guest Aphra Boyler this week was PERFECT for my first Disney page. I think this is the fastest I have ever started scrapping a vacation.  I have had most of my supplies since we booked our trip back in March :) You can click {HERE} to see Aphra's sketch on the TPV blog as well as all the fantastic DT samples!

Here is my layout~

I saw the Four Parks - One World a lot while were were there. I think I even bought a deck of cards with it (I really need to unpack!!)  The picture of the castle isn't the best we have but it's the only one I could find that would fit with the rest.  All supplies are from the Queen & Company Disney line except for the Thickers and the tiny type letters.

If you play along with TPV this week, you can win this cool prize!

I am also linking my layout to the Disney/Pixar link up party at Crafty Chics!

Scrappin' Saturday - Cousins

Happy Scrappin' Saturday!

This week I am featuring a double layout from the crop I attended a few weeks ago. I did use a sketch, however I can't find my notes at the moment.

{click picture for larger view}

I had lots of pictures from the photo session of my sister's dog and mine meeting for the first time to take Christmas photos.  This double pager allowed me to include quite a few pics - although I think I might still have just a few more to scrap!

I just love this Basic Grey Jovial line! Everything is BG except the red cardstock which is Bazzill Classic Red and the ribbon is from May Arts.

Thanks for looking!

Handmade with {Heart}

I need to start scrapping again, I'm almost out of pages to share!

This is another page for the Christmas 2010 album, I need to start getting more pages done. Christmas is just about 3 months away! EEK!

I made an assortment of altered gifts and gift card holders last year and wanted to be able to save them :)  The font was made from Thickers, some really old stickers and the heart was cut from the Cricut - George & Basic Shapes cartridge.  The paper and embellishments are from the Basic Grey Jovial line.

Scrappin' Saturday - Hometown Holiday

 Good morning!

It's time for another installment of Scrappin' Saturday!  This is another layout that I made at the crop last week.

Things I love about this layout:

#1 it's my own design :)
#2 the blingy cluster on the flower - I've seen it done on a few blogs and had to try it myself
#3 the gold lettering - even though it's hard to see on the busy background, it adds a festive touch.

Thanks for looking!

TPV Celebration Day 2 - Fave Paper Craft Company

One of the pages I created on Saturday is for The Paper Variety's Favorite Paper Crafts Company challenge.  I used last week's Sketch Inspiration challenge as well but I missed the deadline for that, oops!

Basic Grey is my all time favorite paper craft company and for this challenge, I chose the Jovial line to create with.

My dog and my sister's dog posing for Christmas pictures :)
Everything on this page is from the Jovial line except for my pictures LOL!

Scrappin' Saturdays

I have been wanting to get myself on a schedule of sorts for scrapping.  I always make time for cards but never enough time for scrapping my memories. I hope to start sharing at least one page every Saturday from now on - and I have roped Danni into doing it with me :) And she is inspiring me to use my Cricut more as she is trying to use hers more too!

Today's page is another for the sunflower maze that Mike and I visited about 3 years ago.  My friend Jen and I were going to go last weekend but Irene messed those plans up.  I was so looking forward to seeing it as it was in the shape of a butterfly and I think we all know I love butterflies!

I started with Sunday's Studio Calico sketch, in place of the smaller pictures I decided to take two pictures and turn them into mosaics.

Here is my take on the sketch~

I love how the title turned out!  First I cut the title in the orange and then I cut the shadow in brown.  When I was re-cutting the shadow (first time I ran out of paper!), I discovered the word petals by itself on another screen so I cut that in the patterned paper. I think that may be the first time I've ever cut multiple layers for a title and I love how it turned out!

Supply List~

  • Crate Paper Lemon Grass - Lime, Straw, Poppyseed papers
  • Crate Paper Lemon Grass glitter borders
  • Cricut Country Life Cartridge for the title
  • Bling from stash

Precious Baby Girl

Quick share for today - a layout of my niece and I at my bridal shower. She was about 3 months in these photos and she's over a year old now!

I picked this page kit out of a prize bin at the LSS crop - everything is from the kit except the flowers & pearls. I used the Fiskars Threading Water punch on the edges of the blue strip. The layout is an older one from Sketchy Thursdays - I forgot to write the dates on them when I printed a bunch of sketches to bring to the crop.

The designer paper is from MME Wild Asparagus as is the 'precious' title.  I cut up some ribbon from the kit that said baby girl to include as part of the title. The cardstock is Bazzill, the great thing about scrapping at a scrap store is always having cardstock available that matches everything!

TFL! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Forever Friends

It's the weekend, woohoo!!! Any plans?  I am off to the eye doctor for an exam and hopefully some cute new glasses and then a little shopping at the mall and craft stores. We are supposed to have beautiful weather and I think we may take the dog for her first hike tomorrow.  I'd like to get some craft time in but after spending all week cooped up at the office and home, I need to get out and enjoy some fresh air!

Today's pages are from the crop I attended a few weeks ago - I still have at least 4 more pages to share from that day.  I love how these pages turned out - I had some friendship transparencies that I wanted to incorporate but they weren't working out.  I decided to stick with plain cardstock and dress it up with Basic Grey Marjolaine paper and embellishments. I think the tree & birdie are perfect for these outdoor pictures of my friends and I at my bridal shower. The title is made with Forest Thickers from American Crafts - I picked them up while I was at the crop.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Flutter By Wednesday #160

I can't believe we are at 160 FBW challenges!

Today's challenge is an open one - just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. This week we are sponsored by Through the Craftroom Door - click HERE to enter your project and to check out the prize details!

Here is my creation ~ a layout of my niece. Pictures are from my bridal shower last August. While I was opening gifts, she decided to go play in my friend's dog's toy bin and I had my sister snap a few pics.

The layout is based on an old Sassy Lil Sketches layout, I had it printed in my crop file and didn't write the date of the sketch on it. The paper is from the My Mind's Eye So Sophie line. I had fun mixing and matching the patterns that were included in the collection. The flowers and butterfly are from Prima.

May LOAD - Day 21

Here is last night's page. I so love how it came out!

I've had these pictures pulled out to scrap for a week or so. I came across Sketch #6 that I saved from Artful Delight for their 14 Days of Sketches and I stopped hoarding my May kit long enough to scrap these pics.  I really love the bright colors & fun patterns from the Echo Park Summer Days collection.

I love scrapping pictures of my nieces! They are such fun and cute subjects :)

May LOAD Days 17-20

I've been scrapping so late every night that I haven't had time to type up the blog posts for these! Less than 2 weeks to go now, I'm so happy that I've made it this far!

This is Day 17...used one of the sketches from the 28 Sketches Class.
Paper from a K&Co paper pad and embellishments all from my stash!
This picture is from when Mike and I were dating a few years ago. :)

This is Day 18...some pictures from a fall drive in CT. I have no idea where we were. I need to show Mike because he will remember!  Paper is from a DCWV stack, it was perfect since it already had a title on it. I added some Cosmo Cricket stickers for the date and a few Basic Grey Pyrus embellishments.

This is Day 19...pictures from the 2008 Big E. Love seeing the different butter sculptures when I go. The title is the name of the sculpture. Thank goodness for Google!  I didn't know what to title the page and Google came to the rescue. I was also able to find the artist's name which was nice to add.

This is Day 20. I used SBSC283 for the layout, it worked out great for my pictures! I had them sitting out on my desk all week and didn't know what to do with them. As soon as I saw the sketch on Friday, everything came together! I love when that happens! More paper and embellies from my stash!

I'll be back with Day 21 shortly. It's for a challenge so I want to post it separately or else it would get lost here!

May LOAD - Day 16

I made a quick page last night using yesterday's sketch for the 28 Sketches class. I think it took me longer to decide what pics to scrap than to make the actual layout. Sorry for the poor lighting but it was late when I took the picture and getting a good pic is not easy!

My friend's dogs Taylor & Emmitt :)

Have a great day!

May LOAD - Day 15

Last post for today!

Here is Day 15's page...kept it simple since it's so late.  I kept getting distracted watching the baseball game - A big woohoo for the Red Sox sweeping the Yankees!!!

I used the 14th sketch from Artful Delight's 14 Days of Sketches for this page.

This is my friend's cute cat, Eli, hiding by a plant.  I thought the Scrabble tile letters were fun to use for the title. Everything is from the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection except for the lettering.

Thanks for looking!

LOAD Days 12-14

{Please scroll down one post for my Birthday Sundaes challenge card}

I've still been keeping up with the May LOAD challenge - woohoo me!  With Blogger down I wasn't able to post Thursday's page and then I busy, busy with no time for posting until today!

This is Day 12's page. I was inspired by The Paper Variety's movie inspiration challenge for this layout. I originally planned to scrap some stars from the Hollywood Walk of Fame but then I came across this picture of me & Woody from The Big E and I thought it was perfect :)  I used last week's Sketchy Thursday layout.

I used some old DCWV patterned paper and some even older cardstock lol. The title is Thickers.

Here is Day 13's page.  Again lots of old stash used up!  The photo is of my friend's pets. I helped her take her Christmas card picture that year (2007). This is one of the outtakes :)

This page is from Day 14.  Another page full of old stash, even a swap item! I have tons of those to use up.  The photo is of the doggies in the above picture. I came across this picture the other day and was surprised to pull the page together so quickly yesterday morning. Having some of my paper organized by theme is making scrapping really easy and now I am motivated to finally get the paper closet finished! I hope to have some time next weekend to work on it.

Now to figure out today's page!

LOAD - Day 10

Not my best page ever but it's another one done...

Long day/night and I didn't have time or energy to do much, not ready to throw the towel in yet either lol (I'm stubborn like that!)

I used today's Artful Delight sketch which you can see HERE.

Day 9 for LOAD & May with May

Today's page cover LOAD Day 9 and May with May Day 9. I found this sweet picture of my niece last night and kept it out to work with this week. I let the background paper do the work for me and kept the layout simple.

The paper is from some old DCWV stack and I used my CM heart punch for the corner accents.

May LOAD - Day 8

Whew...I made it. I have such a headache tonight that I was ready to throw in the towel. I'm glad I didn't as the page I made is super cute (and I am determined not to fail this challenge!)

This is a picture that I snagged from my sister's computer awhile ago. I thumbed through a bunch of different pics tonight and picked this one when I found a sketch that would work. As I was contemplating paper choices, I remembered that my Artful Delight kit came yesterday and it was perfect for what I had in mind as this new week for LOAD focuses on color. The sketch is #8 from the 14 days of sketches at Artful Delight.

Everything is from the Echo Park Summer Days collection and is all from the kit except for the Thickers. The bright fun colors make me happy :) and I can't wait to use it again!

May LOAD - Day 7 and another challenge

This is my 4th page for today and possibly my last so I am going to enter it for my Day 7 of LOAD.  I'd hate to get distracted and not make another page by the deadline tonight!

I started this layout using the 2nd NSD challenge from the Scrapfriendly Yahoo Group.  The challenge is to use newer photos, papers & tools.  I used adorable pics of my niece Emily, some MME Stella & Rose Hazel papers, and used my Cricut (and Gypsy)!! The yummy was cut from the Simply Charmed cartridge - first time using it! The cake was cut from the Sweet Treats cartridge (my 2nd time using this - I originally bought it to cut some flags that I used on my wedding bookmark favors)

The Venetian at Night

Managed to combine 2 challenges for this page!

The first is the Scrapfriendly Yahoo Group NSD Challenge #1
Include an OLD photo (s), papers & tools
Check, check & check!

These photos were taken in October 2004 about 5 months after I started scrapbooking.
Yes, I'm still scrapping this trip.  To be fair I've put this project aside for a number of years for a number of reasons. A challenge is a challenge though and I knew these pics would be perfect.  It took longer than I thought to pick out the pics because when I was going through them - oh wow, I saved some horrid pics! Blurry, out of focus, dark - you name it. Those all went bye bye and now the pile is a lot more manageable!

I am so thankful I switched to a good digital camera after this trip. I've saved myself lots of $ in bad film pictures LOL! I also took the time to look through the pages I have done and this new page is done in similar fashion (well of course it is since I'm using ancient supplies!)

The other challenge is for the May with May class - Day 3 was to make photo corners. So I took my old tools - decorative scissors if you couldn't tell (lol!) and used them on the photo corners. When I was looking through the album I saw that I used the deco scissors a lot then, I was surprised! I was creative with less supplies (who knew!)

In 7 years of papercrafting I have come a long ways in terms of style and supplies but I have realized that I still enjoy using the 'old' stuff which is good since I have lots!

Off to create some more!
