Week 39 - safetysuit

TGIF!!

It's been a super long week here, so happy it's the weekend!! I fell off the wagon with the SITS Girls blogging challenge but with good reason.  Our sweet Amber was quite sick and I had some long sleepless nights with her.  We took her to the vet yesterday and she is now on the mend thankfully. Hoping for a full night of sleep tonight!!

I made this layout tonight for the 52 Week challenge, I'm amazed that I'm still in this challenge. I may not share my pages each week (lazy blogger that I am sometimes) but I'm still scrapping at least one page each and every week.

I pulled out this pictures last week and decided to use them tonight.  They aren't the best as they are zoomed in cell pics but it was such a fun night that I wanted to document it for our scrapbook.  We went to Mohegan Sun on Good Friday and as we were strolling around after dinner, we came upon this awesome band.  I'm hoping we can see them again and actually sit in the Wolf Den so we can see them a bit better (the lead singer was so cute! LOL!!)

My layout was created using this week's Classy Sketch.  Papers are by Echo Park and from the Note to Self Collection. Added some tape from Bella Blvd, stickers and brads from my stash.  I like how it turned out!

Gelato ~ a layout

Sorry for the silence this week, I was so proud of myself for starting to blog often and then my allergies reared their ugly head on Sunday night so I've been a bit off this week.  I did do a lot of resting and had some fun blog surfing! I've missed having the time to do that.

Here we are at the end of another week - with my weekly layout done late on a Friday night.  It's week #23 - I still have plenty more weeks to learn to get it done earlier!  I was thumbing through some pictures and came across a few pictures from our 'minmoon'.  We stayed a hotel near a casino about an hour from here and had fun hanging out at the casino that night and the next day.  The pictures aren't that great since it was my old phone but at least I have some pictures documenting that time :)

All supplies (except the mist) are from the Studio Calico April kit - "City of Lights".  This was my first month's subscription from them and I finally opened it tonight.  I am loving their kits! They are full of things that I normally wouldn't pair together and there are so  many fun things in it. Since I didn't want the cardstock to be plain, I decided to finally try the spattering technique that is so popular these days. Oh my, what a mess I made LOL!!  Luckily it all cleaned off my counter top pretty easily although I still need to wash off my cell phone case.

For the layout, I used this week's Sketches in Thyme sketch except I rotated it to fit my page. I love how this turned out!!

Tomorrow I'm off to my friend's to craft for the day. Naturally I over packed but I hope to get a lot done, including my projects for this Monday's blog hop!

Valentine - Be Mine

This is my valentine to my sweet hubby. I created while he was making dinner tonight...nothing like waiting until the last minute. LOL!

I started with last Friday's Viva La Verve sketch challenge - perfect for playing with lots of patterned papers!

Here's my take using Verve's Love Notes set - inked up for the very first time and I also opened up my Echo Park Yours Truly 6x6 pad for the first time. (and now it probably collect dust until next year LOL!)

We had a great night. Dinner and then we watched a movie - Larry Crowne. Love both Julia Roberts & Tom Hanks!

I am also sharing my card with these challenges:
Creative Craft Challenges - Valentines Day
Celebrate the Occasion - #50 Valentine's Day (must use a heart)
Crafty Catz - #119 Valentines
Card Makin' Mamas - #38 - Valentine

Thanks for looking!

Happy February and FBW #188

Good morning and Happy February! It's a rainy dreary day here but it's oddly warm and I don't have to go to jury duty so I'm a happy girl!

It's time for the first Flutter By Wednesday challenge of the month and it's an open one. Just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. This week we are sponsored by Rhoda Design Studio and the lucky winner will receive a $20 gift certificate to shop there! Some of the DT used digis provided by our generous sponsor, so be sure to check out their links when you enter your creation {HERE}.  Links are also on my sidebar!

I was inspired by the last few days of nice weather to create a springy card using up some Echo Park Country Drive scraps from recent layouts.  I saw a card recently on Kristina Werner's site using up lots of bitty square scraps and said I certainly can do that (many, many times with all my scraps LOL!)

I have to say the first month of the year went by so quickly but I'm ready for February! Lots of fun stuff coming up this month including two Big Picture Classes - 28 Cards in 4 Weeks and The Curious Scrapbooker's Field Guide.  I signed up way back in December so I'm excited it's finally time! I also hope to scrap more and finish up some of my reorganization in my scraproom. I'm trying to take my time with it so I don't get bored and get sloppy.  So far everything is looking GOOD!

Have a great day and thanks for fluttering by!

52 Week Challenge - Week #5 & 24 Hour Challenge!

Well lookie here, it's only Saturday and my 52 Week layout is DONE! Whatever will I do with myself on Friday night now? LOL!

We had our monthly 24 Hour Challenge on SNC, I missed the deadline to get my layout entered for it but I still wanted to get mine done since I loved the collection and sketch picked for me by Amanda. She picked Echo Park Country Drive and this sketch from Creative Scrappers:

I've had this collection on my 24 Hour list a few times now and this is the first time it got picked. I've been saving it to use for pictures from my day trip to meet Sue!

I started off with inking the edges of all the papers with Tea Dye distress ink. I think it helped the papers not blend in together since they are a bit on the busy side. The thickers are from a kit I took apart and I used some flowers from Recollections and the blue one is one I've been hoarding from Precocious Paper! The butterflies were punched from a few of my Martha Stewart punches.

I can't wait to scrap more pictures from this day now that I finally started :)

Fluttering by to say hi {FBW DT Post}

This week's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge is a fun color challenge! Since Halloween is just a few days away, Danni challenged us to use black, purple, orange and green on our creations. Don't forget to add a butterfly, fairy or angel!  Click {HERE} to enter your creation!

My card is a quick one since I had a bit of a mishap...I spent lots of time coloring an image only to realize that it didn't fit this week's challenge LOL!  So you'll see that for next week's FBW!

When I saw this fun sketch from Karen on Sunday, I thought it would be perfect to use with one of my Martha Stewart punches.

I pulled out my TE Project Pantry kit from last Halloween and punched a bunch of butterflies from scraps.  The cardstock and ribbon are also from the kit.  I inked up my My Pink Stamper Buggy Punnies for the sentiment and added some Kaiser pearls to the butterflies.

For more colorful inspiration, check out the rest of the DT! Links are on my sidebar!

Trick or Sweet for TE's Blast from the Past hop!

Welcome!

If you are here from Cindy's blog, you are on the right track! If you are just here visiting (Hi!!), please start the hop at Taylor's blog! This is my stop on the hop for the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past hop.

This month's theme is Trick or Sweet and we were to make some Halloween related or something sweet :)

I pulled out my Trick or Sweet stamp set and last year's Halloween Project Pantry kit. I used a TE sketch from a few weeks ago (I've shared it below) Everything is from the kit except the gems and what's a Halloween card without using the Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch :)

I finished off the inside with another sentiment from the kit and 2 more cuppies.

This is the sketch that I used - definitely a fun one!

Your next stop on the hop is LESA!

Cooking It Up with Katie #76

{Please scroll down for my Flutter By Wednesdays post}

Hello again!

I'm back with my Cooking It Up with Katie card and sadly my last challenge with the team. I thought I could take on the additional commitment but it has proven to be too much to keep up with.  I will still be playing along when I can though since I love the challenges.

The recipe this week is:
  • oval
  • orange
  • inside out (decorate the inside of your card!)
I used the very cool Papertrey Ink - Inside & Out birthday stamp set and Echo Park Apothecary Emporium paper to create a fun 'halloween-ish' birthday card. Can you tell I just love this May Arts ribbon - I bought a yard of it at the LSS and still have just a tad bit leftover. Must get more!

Here's the inside~

PCC #109 - Caution: Ghost Crossing!

TGIF!

Are you ready for another PaperCutz Challenge? We've got a fun one for you this week! We'd like to see a card, layout or project using a Cricut cut, hand stamped or digital stamped GHOST and the following colors - WHITE, BLACK, PURPLE AND ORANGE ONLY.  Click {HERE} to enter your creation and check out all the DT samples.

I dug out an old CTMH stamp set for my card this week - it's called Kittens in Costume. The paper is new though, it's from the Echo Park Apothecary Emporium paper pad. The sentiment is from the My Craft Spot Happy Hauntings set.  I realized after I took the picture that I didn't put any embellishments on it lol...oh well, it will be easy to mail!

Cooking It Up with Katie #73

Today is Wednesday, it's time for Cooking It Up with Katie!

Our challenge this week includes the following recipe:
  • Sticker (I used Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers)
  • Bling (I swear the brads are sparkly!)
  • Pink
And we have two sponsors for you!  MelJens Designs (who provided us with some fun images to use) and Pizazz A Plenty.  Please check out the Cooking It Up with Katie blog to see all the sponsor details and DT samples and to enter your creation!

Here is my sample card using Book Girl.

I absolutely LOVE how she is colored - I really took my time and the results show.  I was beginning to think that I was losing my coloring abilities but it turns out that rushing is my problem and this power outage taught me to slow down so I can enjoy the process more.  I also think that when I get back into my room (I've been working in the dining room), I'm going to move my desk to a better angle so I can enjoy the natural light more (for the times I actually get to enjoy daylight).

I used this sketch from PaperWorks Co for my card:

Supply List~
Stamps: MelJens Designs Book Girl digi image
Paper: Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush cardstock, Echo Park Paper For the Record, image was printed on Copic Xpress Blend it cardstock
Other: copics, Making Memories brads, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers

Flutter By Wednesdays #168

It's Wednesday and a very exciting day on my blog!

First up we have this week's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge - it's an open challenge, just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. You can enter your creation {HERE}.

The entire team is using a very special image today - meet Danni! She was drawn for our wonderful leader by the talented Victoria Case

Please take the time to visit the rest of the design team to see what they've created using this fabulous image!

I used a lot of markers on her and I am mostly pleased with the results.  I think I could have blended out her dress a bit more but didn't realize that until I took the photo and uploaded it.

I used last week's CPS sketch for the layout. I knew I wanted to use the Echo Park Victoria Gardens paper and needed to find a sketch that would let me show off the paper in addition to the image.

I'll have another post up later this morning, please stop back to see an exciting announcement (and another card!)

Thanks for fluttering by!

Get out those punches & die cuts for FBW!

Let me tell you something, I had SOOOOO much fun with this week's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge!!

This week we want you to use your punches and die cuts on your Flutter By Wednesdays entries! Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. Please click {HERE} to enter and to see more inspiration, check out the FBW DT links on my left sidebar!

I decided that I wanted to play with a bunch of my MFT goodies that either haven't been used yet or in a long time. I started with this MFT sketch from a few Wednesdays ago...

Meet Pure Innocence Poppy - seeing as I have an August birthday, of course I had to have her and get her inked up this month.

I used MFT felt along with the Die-namics Fresh Cut Grass die, the Die-namics Butterflies and the Die-namics Open Scallop Edge.

Here is a close up of Poppy.  She was stamped 3 times - twice on Papertrey Ink Stampers Select cardstock and once on Echo Park For the Record designer paper. After adding the paper piecing, I used her arm from the 2nd image to add for more dimension. She was colored with various copics and I added Stickles to the heart in her hair and the center of the poppy.

You know you want to play along with us this week! Check out all the details {HERE} and thank you for fluttering by!  I'll be back later this morning with the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past hop!

May LOAD - Day 21

Here is last night's page. I so love how it came out!

I've had these pictures pulled out to scrap for a week or so. I came across Sketch #6 that I saved from Artful Delight for their 14 Days of Sketches and I stopped hoarding my May kit long enough to scrap these pics.  I really love the bright colors & fun patterns from the Echo Park Summer Days collection.

I love scrapping pictures of my nieces! They are such fun and cute subjects :)

Flutter By Wednesday #155 with Copic Creations Challenge #50!

Hello my fluttering friends! It's the middle of the week already, yay!

Today's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is to use the following sketch by Carly from Sketches by Carly and/or an open challenge. Of course you must have your butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation!

I haven't inked up a fairy in awhile so I decided to use a Paper Makeup Stamps fairy since PMS is sponsoring the Copic Creations Challenge of using Yellows.  I inked up Marissa for the very first time, isn't she sweet? :)  I was inspired by Danni's card yesterday using the Echo Park Springtime paper so I cut into my pad for the first time as well.

Here's a close up of Marissa ~
Hair - YR20, YR21, E35
Skin - E00, E11, R21
Dress - Y00, Y11, Y15, RV91, RV93, RV95
Shoes - Y15
Ground - C1

Would you believe I forgot the sparkle?!?!?  I didn't even realize it until I was editing my pictures!
