Flip flop Birthday

TGIF!!!!

Even happier that tomorrow is Saturday!  I will be at the allergist's office bright and early to get scratched with a bunch of allergies to see what I respond to.  I've been having issues for months now so a re-test is in order to see if I have any new allergies. Hopefully the tests will give us some answers as to why medicines I've tried aren't working as they should.

Today I'm sharing the birthday card I made for my sister. Her birthday was on Tuesday and I went to see her and my cutie pie nephew on Wednesday night. The card was a big hit! I know she LOVES flip flops so I had to have this set to make her a card.

We also have a birthday party tomorrow. No plans for Sunday though so I'm hoping to blog more and create more! Have a great day!

Supplies~
Stamps: Flipping Out (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: cardstock (PTI), Beach Babe (Fancy Pants)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores (all PTI), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: rhinstones (Queen & Co.)

BFFs ~ a layout!

Good morning!

I'm sharing the page I created for the SNC 52 Week challenge and it's also for the June Sketch at My Scraps & More. Yes, I scrapped before Friday! It's a miracle! I told the girls at SNC that I wouldn't know what to do with myself on Friday night now LOL! Maybe I'll get wild and scrap a 2nd page. hehehe

This is a picture of my best friend, Courtney, and I.  Self portrait of us at the beginning of the year and it's been sitting in my 'to be scrapped' file since the May crop.  The papers are all from the Authentique Genuine collection. I sprayed the background paper with Mister Huey's Mists in Passport - most of it ended up covered up lol. I used my Gypsy to die cut the flower paper using a cut from Storybook and the flower buttons and flowers are from some ancient stash! I used some stickers from the Authentique collection to the right of the picture (click on the picture to see larger version).

TFL and stay cool!! It's going to be another hot day here in New England!

Supplies~
Paper: Genuine (Authentique)
Other: Thickers (American Crafts), stickers (Authentique), Mister Huey's Mists - Passport (Studio Calico), buttons from stash, flowers from stash, Storybook cartridge for the die cut shape (Cricut)

Obsessed! ~ a layout

Just popping in quick to share a layout I made on Friday. It was for my 52 Week Challenge  last week and for last week's Sketches in Thyme sketch.

I had so much fun scrapping these pictures!  My sister got me hooked on Bakery Story and Restaurant Story - games that we play on our phones. In one month I went from Level 1 to Level 28 on both games and not quite a week later, I'm on Level 31 lol!!  I found a little camera icon on the games and realized that I could snap pics of my bakery & restaurant, so I thought it would be something fun to scrap.

I used Studio Calico Classic collection for the papers. The colors in the pictures are so bright, the neutral palette of the papers were perfect.  I used stars for the embellishments since stars are collected in the games to level up. Fun and I'm using some WAY old stash!  Foil thickers finished off this page.

Here is the sketch that I based my layout on~

Freshly Made Sketches #39

Last post for tonight!

This is another image from the batch I colored last week. Isn't this skunk adorable?! It's from The Angel Company - can't recall the set name though. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches since it was perfect for a smaller image.

I punched the skunk out with a Marvy circle punch and then the red panel was punched with a Marvy scallop circle punch.  I added the dots with a white Signo pen.  The cardstock, patterned paper and buttons are all from an old kit.

Here is the sketch~

Supplies~
Stamps: The Angel Company
Paper: Bazzill, MME So Sophie Clever
Other: copics, buttons from kit, Marvy punches, white Signo pen

A Penguin Birthday

Here's another card I made today!  Last weekend I colored 8 images to match a kit I got last year or the year before from Taylored Expressions. Having all the images pre-colored really speeds up my card making!

My niece is turning 4 this week so I will give this card to her. I know it's not pink LOL!  But it's a card done ahead of time for a change!  The end of the week will be busy for me and I know I won't have time to make a card then.

I used the Techno Stamper Lunchtime Sketch~

Supplies~
Stamps: The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, MME So Sophie Clever
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Other: MFT Chevron Stripes Die-namics, MFT Fishtail Stax, yellow stickles

Happy Father's Day!!

This is my 900th post!!!!!!! Wow!!! I began blogging in 2006 but it was only a handful of posts for a few years and then it became a regular part of my life in 2008.  Here's to 900 more! Woohoo!

I've been on a roll today with making cards so this is a first of 3 posts so that I can get all my cards in before the challenges end.  First up we have a card for my stepdad.  I had such fun making it this morning (don't you wait til the morning of when you need a card? no??  why not?!) I find I work much better under pressure :)

I am sharing this card with The Pink Elephant #152 - Masculine and I Spy Sketches #20 (whose sketch was based off a Lori Boyd card who is the TPE owner!)

Here is my card~

I made an absolute mess while creating this card. First I put together the base of the card and splatted it with Studio Calico Mister Huey's Mists in Manila. Then I masked the image panel with a rectangle and sprayed the mist over it. After that I colored the image, paper pieced the shirt and stamped the sentiment. Next up I cut these tools from MFT Die-namics using silver cardstock from PTI and spritzed them with the mist. Then I had to clean up my huge mess since the mist was everywhere!!

Here's a close up of the tools!

Here is the sketch from I Spy Sketches - I flipped it so I could hang the tools on the bottom of the panel.

Supplies~
Stamps: Moka Tim from Taylored Expressions, Hero Arts sentiment
Paper: PTI cardstock, Basic Grey Granola

Other: ribbon from stash, brads from stash, border punch from Fiskars, MFT tools die-namics, Mister Huey's Manila Mist

Tiger Lilies!

One of the many things I love about our home is all the flowers that came with it. Each year they seem to multiply too!

I took these pictures after work yesterday before we went to celebrate Mike's birthday. I can't wait to scrapbook them!

SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

Good morning!  Welcome to my stop on the SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Sandi's blog at Slightly Off Center, you are in the right place. If you just happened to stop by (Hi!!), you can start at Suzanne's blog to see all the wonderful creations along the hop. Here is the complete list in case you get sidetracked by awesome creations on the way :)

Suzanne - Scrap With Suzy
Kristie - Scrap, Color, Read and Repeat (You are here!)

You don't want to miss seeing all the "furry" projects we have for you, as well as chances to win some awesome blog candy!

There are 7 of us in today's hop. We are all online scrapbooking friends in a Yahoo group called Scrappin-N-Chattin.  We love to chat, share our creations and challenge ourselves and each other to create lots of wonderful pages, cards and projects! We do tend to get chatty but that is part of the fun :)  We have so many activities, challenges and prizes to keep you scrappin' those memories.

One of the activities we have is a rak called It Girl.  There is a group or two of names and each group starts with one person and then that person will select a name and send a RAK gift off the person's wishlist.  The recipient then will pick a name from that list, shop and send a RAK to another name and so on. It's always fun to get a surprise in your mailbox!

You can visit our group {HERE}! We love to meet new people :) We also love to blog hop and share lots of inspiration from around the web.  For today's hop, we each created a "furry" project.  Instead of scrapping my adorable "baby" Amber, I chose to do a bookmark and a few cards. All tutorial links and supply lists are located way at the bottom since this is a long post!

First up we have my first ever corner bookmark! It was so much fun to make and I see a lot of them in my future :)

Next up is an easel card. It's one of my favorite 'fun' folds. It's so easy and makes a nice impact on a card. Especially when you have a larger image like mine.

My final creation is a card using a new stamp I bought a few months ago.  I couldn't resist this cutie and her puppy! The layout of the card is using Sweet Sunday Sketch #160

And for the heck of it, here is a picture of my girl :) She loves to hang out behind the couch cushion LOL. She was being a lazy doggy yesterday morning.

It wouldn't be a blog hop without candy, right?!

Here is what I am offering:

For your chance to win these awesome Basic Grey goodies (and believe me, you do *want* them as they are hard to find since they are JoAnn Store exclusives!!), please leave a comment on this post.  If you would like to become a follower (if you aren't already), I would love for you to do that but it's not a requirement to win.  I also have a fan page for my blog on Facebook, if you would like to follow me there. Click {HERE} for that page.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope you enjoyed viewing my creations and will visit again soon.  Prize winners will be announced on Thursday (mine will be posted at night since I work during the day).

Gelato ~ a layout

Sorry for the silence this week, I was so proud of myself for starting to blog often and then my allergies reared their ugly head on Sunday night so I've been a bit off this week.  I did do a lot of resting and had some fun blog surfing! I've missed having the time to do that.

Here we are at the end of another week - with my weekly layout done late on a Friday night.  It's week #23 - I still have plenty more weeks to learn to get it done earlier!  I was thumbing through some pictures and came across a few pictures from our 'minmoon'.  We stayed a hotel near a casino about an hour from here and had fun hanging out at the casino that night and the next day.  The pictures aren't that great since it was my old phone but at least I have some pictures documenting that time :)

All supplies (except the mist) are from the Studio Calico April kit - "City of Lights".  This was my first month's subscription from them and I finally opened it tonight.  I am loving their kits! They are full of things that I normally wouldn't pair together and there are so  many fun things in it. Since I didn't want the cardstock to be plain, I decided to finally try the spattering technique that is so popular these days. Oh my, what a mess I made LOL!!  Luckily it all cleaned off my counter top pretty easily although I still need to wash off my cell phone case.

For the layout, I used this week's Sketches in Thyme sketch except I rotated it to fit my page. I love how this turned out!!

Tomorrow I'm off to my friend's to craft for the day. Naturally I over packed but I hope to get a lot done, including my projects for this Monday's blog hop!

All Dressed Up ~ a layout

Happy Saturday!

It's been a lazy day here...a few errands, some cleaning up in my scraproom, reading book #3 of the Fifty Shades trilogy and some coloring!

I'm sharing a layout I did during the NSD crop last month.  I did use a sketch for the layout but I have no idea where my notes are right now.  The flourish and flowers were all cut from MFT Die-namics and the paper is from my ancient stash, felt good to use it up!

That is me in the picture several years ago dressed up for my bridesmaid duties in my bff's wedding :)

First layout of the month!

It was kinda a given that I would scrap on the first day of the month...I waited (again) until the last minute to make my weekly page for the SNC 52 Week Challenge.  The mojo just hasn't been there for my pages...but as I do almost daily, I look through all the challenges for the day and I found a great sketch at Sketches: Creatively Yours and knew I found what I wanted to use.  Then came the decision on pictures - sigh, that usually takes the longest lol!  I went back to Christmas 2010 and picked 3 pictures to scrap.

And guess what! I'm still using Basic Grey LOL! This is the Jovial collection that I bought for this album...which I still have oodles of. I better start scrapping more of this album fast.  Christmas 2012 will be here before we know it!

Here is the sketch I used~

Psst...The Scrappin-N-Chattin Yahoo Group will be hosting a blog hop from June 11th-June 14th!  Be sure to join us during that time to see lots of cute layout and projects featuring our furry friends :)

Supplies~
Paper: Basic Grey Jovial, Bazzill cardstock
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black (used on the squares)
Other: Creative Memories square punch, Basic Grey Jovial buttons, PTI button twine
