Happy Father's Day!!

This is my 900th post!!!!!!! Wow!!! I began blogging in 2006 but it was only a handful of posts for a few years and then it became a regular part of my life in 2008.  Here's to 900 more! Woohoo!

I've been on a roll today with making cards so this is a first of 3 posts so that I can get all my cards in before the challenges end.  First up we have a card for my stepdad.  I had such fun making it this morning (don't you wait til the morning of when you need a card? no??  why not?!) I find I work much better under pressure :)

I am sharing this card with The Pink Elephant #152 - Masculine and I Spy Sketches #20 (whose sketch was based off a Lori Boyd card who is the TPE owner!)

Here is my card~

I made an absolute mess while creating this card. First I put together the base of the card and splatted it with Studio Calico Mister Huey's Mists in Manila. Then I masked the image panel with a rectangle and sprayed the mist over it. After that I colored the image, paper pieced the shirt and stamped the sentiment. Next up I cut these tools from MFT Die-namics using silver cardstock from PTI and spritzed them with the mist. Then I had to clean up my huge mess since the mist was everywhere!!

Here's a close up of the tools!

Here is the sketch from I Spy Sketches - I flipped it so I could hang the tools on the bottom of the panel.

Playing for fun!

It's been awhile since I've played for fun. I always make time to get my DT stuff done but not enough time to take part in other challenges.  Instead of cleaning my room tonight I decided it was time to play!

I incorporated 3 challenges into this card~

Paper Makeup Stamps is having a Sizzlin' Summer Colors challenge and I pulled out Danni's Flutterbies so I could play along with The Pink Elephant's Butterflies challenge and I was inspired by this week's sketch at Techno Stamper~

Products Used:
Danni's Flutterbies & Little Moments by Paper Makeup Stamps
Georgia Pacific cardstock
Beach Babe dp by Fancy Pants
Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Colorbox Chalk Ink - Warm Red & Tangerine
ribbon from stash

Butterflyabella for FBW #151

Time for a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge!  It's #151 and an open theme - just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel! Click HERE to enter your creation and to see wonderful samples, check out the DT listed on my left sidebar.

Here is a lame story for you all LOL - I really wanted to ink up one of my new Magnolia stamps but I haven't touched my copics since class on Saturday and was feeling slightly intimidated by them. Silly I know! So I decided to finally try gamsol with my prismacolor pencils, I don't think I did too bad for my first try!

I used a sketch I saved a few weeks ago from The Pink Elephant, it was perfect for my image!

Products Used:
Stamping Bella Butterflyabella
Basic Grey Hopscotch
Misc. cardstock
Prismacolor pencils
Gamsol
Martha Stewart punches
Misc. bling from stash

It's Spring, time for a bike ride!!

I have the pleasure of sharing this sneak peek of a new line of stamps to be debuted tomorrow over at Squigglefly. The artist's name is Diane Carubia and this image is called Bicycle Ride. Doesn't she look like she's having a blast? She's perfect for the Spring Challenge over at The Pink Elephant :)

The layout is this week's Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge - I used it the same day that it was posted, that usually doesn't happen LOL!

I went a little copic crazy on my coloring so I took a picture instead of listing all of the colors.

Card Supplies
Stamps: Bicycle Ride by Diane Carubia ~ Squigglefly
Paper: BG Green at Heart (love this new stack!!!), PTI Summer Sunrise
Copics: see above
Others: Labels 4 ~ Nestabilities, brad, flower & ric rac from stash

Unscripted Sketches + 4 more challenges

I created this card last night for a baby shower I went to this afternoon....the baby's room is a monkey theme, so I was thrilled to find this adorable monkey in my stash of baby stamps :)

Doesn't this green ribbon remind you of a vine? I thought it was so cute with the stamp...and ribbon was our "weekend crew" theme this weekend. I've still got a ways to go before I make a dent in my stash LOL!

I used yesterday's Unscripted Sketches #43 plus 2 colors from their color challenge.

This card is also entered into the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant #54 - Ribbon
Little Red Wagon #16 - Ribbon
Fab 'N' Funky #11 - It's Childish
My Time to Craft #79 - Green Plus One

Happy Valentine's Day x 12!!

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope you are enjoying your day :) My sweetie is making me dinner tonight and we having a nice day together here at home.

This is the card I made for him -

When I saw the Tech Talk set by Melanie Muenchinger for Gina K Designs, I just knew I had to get it so I can make my techy guy cards with it. I stamped the laptop on paper from the Basic Grey Ambrosia paper pad and I stamped the 'happy vday' using letters from the Multi Retro My Sentiments Exactly set and the happy face is from the Tech Talk set. I found the cool ribbon at Michaels on clearance last night...yes, I waited til late last night to make my card, typical me!!

The layout is this week's sketch at Our Creative Corner -

This card is also for the following challenges:

Hearts Galore

February is off to such a slow start for me! It's the 7th and I've only made 4 cards and 3 of those were today.

This weekend our 'theme' weekend was to use scraps, I hardly made a dent in mine! Here is the first card using the Mojo124 sketch. I love all the layers :)

The dp is all scraps of DCWV paper from one of my many stacks and the stamp is from the CTMH set Love You. You can't tell in the picture but I popped the stamped heart on micro pop dots to give it just a little dimension.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant #52 - All About Pink
Creative Card Crew #44 - Valentines
Charisma Cardz #5 - I Love You
Stamp Somethings - Love Somethings
C.R.A.F.T. Challenges #36 - Love/Valentines

Here is the sketch:

Check out what the rest of the Weekend Crew has been making with their scraps. Links are on my right sidebar!

The Pink Elephant #50

No, it's not a Stamping Bella...but I'll be back later with some more of those! I picked out sketches, images and paper before going to bed last night. It should make card making go a wee bit faster today!

I wanted to make sure I shared this Pink Elephant sketch challenge card since a new challenge is posted tomorrow. I created it one night last week and have been lax in getting it to the blog.

I used my new Greeting Farm Princess Anya along with Basic Grey Bittersweet paper :) I love how the pink and black looks together.

Here is the sketch -

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Princess Anya ~ The Greeting Farm
Paper: Basic Grey Bittersweet, CTMH Black
Ink: Memento
Copics: E00, E02, E35, E37
Others: Stampin Up eyelet border punch, gold spica pen, prima flowers, brads from stash

Until later!
