Flutter By Wednesdays #164 - Stripes

Today's Flutter By Wednesdays challenge is to use stripes along with your butterfly, fairy or angel! Click HERE to enter your creation and check out the design team links on my left sidebar to see their take on the challenge.

I'm sorry I don't have a card to share with you all today, over the weekend we started cleaning out our spare room to make room for a wall bookcase to be built by my stepdad (so excited for this - I have tons of books that have been packed for almost 2 years and lots that are still at my parents!).  Due to the cleaning a lot of older scrappy stuff made it's way into my scraproom and I'm trying to plow through it for a tag sale at the LSS this coming weekend. I'll be back on track soon I hope!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #19

Good morning!! Are you all enjoying your weekend?  I got my new glasses yesterday, yay I can clearly again!

Last week we had an amazing number of entries at Birthday Sundaes! Wow!! I'm still looking through all the fabulous entries that were entered. This week we have another fun challenge for you! You can enter your card HERE and check out all the DT samples while you are there too!

This week's challenge is to create a birthday card using the following Inspiration Photo - I can't wait to see how you all will interpret it.  I think it's a fun one for summer! Don't forget your birthday wording on your card front!

Here is my take on it~

I combined two The Cat's Pajamas sets on my card.  The beach image is from By the Sea and the birthday sentiment is from You Say It's Your Birthday. I love how the sentiment looks like waves! How perfect is the paper, it's from the Basic Grey Granola paper pad.

I used this week's SCS card sketch ~

My card also follows these fun challenges~

Did you hear about Birthday Sundaes blog hop on July 31st??

You can check out the announcement HERE!

Have a great day! I'm hoping to get a little crafty after getting some house chores done and I think my hubby & I may go out to dinner, we are celebrating 2 years of home ownership today!

Celebrate with Birthday Sundaes!

It's Challenge #18 at Birthday Sundaes!

We are welcoming a new sponsor this week - Circle B Enterprises!  The challenge is the popular Anything Goes Birthday Card (just remember to include a birthday greeting/wording on your card front). Please check out the Birthday Sundaes blog to enter your card, learn more about our sponsor and check out the rest of the DT samples!

I started this card with no plan in mind. I picked a stamp from a basket I keep on my desk, then picked a paper pad and just went with it.  Everything is scraps except the cardstock.  I decided the black base was too boring so I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder.  I like how it turned out!  I'm not sure who I'll give it to yet, maybe give it to my mom for her stash.

Supplies~
Stamps - Stampin Up (not sure which set since it wasn't in the box)
Paper: CTMH Black cardstock, Basic Grey Marrakech
Ink: Memento
Other: copics, cuttlebug folder, pop dots (on the image panel)

Flutter By Wednesdays #162 - Inspiration Photo

Happy Wednesday!

We have a fun challenge for you at Flutter By Wednesdays this week.  Danni has selected this lovely inspiration picture for us to use.

Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations!  Click HERE to enter your project.

I loved the picture from the moment I saw it and I knew I wanted to use my TAC Sunflowers stamp set that I bought from Danni a few months ago.  My first idea was to create a card but I couldn't find the stamp set....then I was going to scrap a page from a visit to a sunflower maze a few years ago...I wasn't in the mood to scrap so I decided to make a bookmark since I have been reading a lot lately.  Guess what I found? The stamp set! Yay!

I pulled out some Papertrey Ink cardstock scraps in Simply Chartreuse and Kraft and stamped the sunflowers and butterfly from the TAC set and quotes/sentiments from the Papertrey Ink All Booked Up set.

It was interesting to color on the green cardstock, the yellow didn't look yellow until it dried. I was a little afraid I'd have to toss it out! Thankfully both bookmarks turned out the way I had hoped and now I just have to decide which one to use first.  I just started The Silver Boat by Luanne Rice yesterday, what does everyone else have on their summer reading list?

I am also entering the following challenges:
Charisma Cards #27 - All About Flowers
Digi Doodle Shop #66 - Butterflies
Stampin' for the Weekend #12 - Wings and Things
Little Miss Muffet Challenges #13 - Anything But a Card

Thanks for fluttering by today!

Precious Baby Girl

Quick share for today - a layout of my niece and I at my bridal shower. She was about 3 months in these photos and she's over a year old now!

I picked this page kit out of a prize bin at the LSS crop - everything is from the kit except the flowers & pearls. I used the Fiskars Threading Water punch on the edges of the blue strip. The layout is an older one from Sketchy Thursdays - I forgot to write the dates on them when I printed a bunch of sketches to bring to the crop.

The designer paper is from MME Wild Asparagus as is the 'precious' title.  I cut up some ribbon from the kit that said baby girl to include as part of the title. The cardstock is Bazzill, the great thing about scrapping at a scrap store is always having cardstock available that matches everything!

TFL! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Birthday Sundaes #17 - A Summery Color Challenge!

Good morning!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend, I am!

Today's Birthday Sundaes challenge is to create a birthday card using the colors orange, green & white! As always, a birthday sentiment/greeting is required on your card front. Click HERE to play along and check out all the awesome design team samples!

I'll admit I really stumped myself with this challenge and I'm the one that came up with it LOL! I was going to use popsicles but ended up using them on Friday's card. Thankfully inspiration kicked in and I was able to create a card that I love.

I started with Papertrey Ink Simply Chartreuse cardstock and embossed it with a Cuttlebug folder. Then I punched a bunch of different butterflies from scraps of American Crafts Everyday designer papers and some scraps of white cardstock.  I adhered them all with Diamond Glaze and added Basic Grey Bling it rhinestones and EK Success Halloween gems.  The sentiment is from an old Sweet 'N Sassy stamps set.

Forever Friends

It's the weekend, woohoo!!! Any plans?  I am off to the eye doctor for an exam and hopefully some cute new glasses and then a little shopping at the mall and craft stores. We are supposed to have beautiful weather and I think we may take the dog for her first hike tomorrow.  I'd like to get some craft time in but after spending all week cooped up at the office and home, I need to get out and enjoy some fresh air!

Today's pages are from the crop I attended a few weeks ago - I still have at least 4 more pages to share from that day.  I love how these pages turned out - I had some friendship transparencies that I wanted to incorporate but they weren't working out.  I decided to stick with plain cardstock and dress it up with Basic Grey Marjolaine paper and embellishments. I think the tree & birdie are perfect for these outdoor pictures of my friends and I at my bridal shower. The title is made with Forest Thickers from American Crafts - I picked them up while I was at the crop.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

PaperCutz Challenge #99!

TGIF!

I'm excited to share my PaperCutz Challenge card with you all.  I used the Cricut again!  I really am trying to be better about using the tools that I have and the Cricut is at the top of the list.

This week's challenge is to create a card, layout or project using a Cricut cut, hand stamped or digital stamped image of an ice cream cone, popsicle, ice cream sundae or milk shake using any colors/themes you'd like.  Normally I would turn to my stamps but....I remembered that Doodlecharms has popsicles on it and that is a cartridge I very rarely use. Once I settled on paper to use, the card came together quickly!

All the papers are from the Fancy Pants Beach Babe 6x6 pad and I added a few rhinestones and stamped a sentiment from a summer Cat's Pajamas stamp set.  I inked the edges of the card with Colorbox Chestnut Roan chalk ink.

We'd love to have you join us this week! Click HERE to enter your creation and check out all the fun summery DT samples!

Time to Celebrate

Sharing a page I made at a crop a few weeks ago, these are pictures from my bridal shower last summer.

I'm glad I brought this collection with me to the crop, I had one collection set aside and while I was packing I came across 3 different MME So Sophie collections and I decided to take them with me.  The MME paper was perfect for some of the shower pics! The title came from one of the collections as well. I used some holiday sweet spots from Precocious Paper as accents.

I loved all the little touches my friend and sister added to the shower such as the picture frame that everyone signed and the frames all around with pictures of my now-husband and I in them.

Wedding Wishes

Happy Tuesday....back to work today after over a week off.

Quick post for today sharing a card I made for my co-worker's wedding which was the last Sunday of June.

The wedding colors included purple and green so I wanted my card to reflect that.  I used Papertrey Ink Plum Pudding cardstock for the base and ran it through the D'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug folder and sprayed the heck out of it with Pearl Glimmer Mist.  I am loving the pretty mists now!  The banner underneath the sentiment is from the scrap bin and the Wedding Wishes and border were stamped on Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream cardstock.  The stamps are from the Verve Love Story set.  Pearls are from my stash.

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch 122 for the card layout.

Make A Wish

I'm back with another card for a few challenges!

I have grown to love silhouette images, they make such a striking impact on a card. My favorites are from Paper Makeup Stamps, this image and sentiment are from the Dandy Wishes set which I won in their summer blog hop last month. I heat embossed both the image and sentiment with Colorbox ink, love the result! I tried it in white...not so good lol. I need to buy Colorbox ink in white. While I was cleaning this week I found my old chalks and chalked the image with Pebbles Ink pearlescent chalk.

I used the current sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions

and will enter my card in the following challenges:

Birthday Sundaes #16

I can't believe it's Sunday already! The past week has just flown by for me as I've been on vacation trying to finally get some unpacking done after almost 2 years.  I have made some progress, it's been a lot of reorganizing/purging of stuff I haven't seen in a long time.  I still have quite a bit more to go to make room for more stuff that still has to be moved from my mom's. I had high hopes of spending a lot time in the craft room too but unfortunately that didn't happen.

On to my card share for today!

We have a new sponsor over at Birthday Sundaes and it's none other than the fabulous

The lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate to the new Glitterbabe shop!

Paper Cutz's Star Spangled Blog Hop!

Good Morning and Happy July 1st!

Welcome to my stop on PaperCutz's Star Spangled Blop Hop! If you arrived here from Shelley's blog then you are on the right track, if not please start at the PaperCutz Blog.  Your next stop on the hop will be Patti's blog!

The challenge is to make a banner suitable for hanging, for the 4th of July, with LOTS of bling!  PaperCutz is giving away some fabulous blog candy to celebrate - a Cricut Summer Collection Luau Cartridge!

Here is my first ever hanging banner - I am so proud of myself for making it lol!

I used the Gypsy to design the banner.  The banner layers were cut with the Country Life cartridge and the stars were cut with the Gypsy Wanderings that came with the Gypsy.

Here are some closer views:

I didn't go overly blingy since I didn't have much in the way of red/blue bling - that's a good excuse to go shopping right? LOL  I embossed the white banners with a star cuttlebug folder and the blue stars were embossed with the swiss dot folder and the red star was embossed with the distressed stripes folder. I used some American Crafts sparkly ribbon to string the banner together.

The entire banner took slightly less than 2 hours to design, cut, and assemble. I am thrilled that the design in my head came out exactly as I planned it.  Now go check out and see what Patti created to share with you!

I am also entering my banner into the following challenges:
My Craft Spot #14 - Seeing Stars
Die Cut Dreams #92 Red, White & Blue
Fantabulous Cricut #66 Happy 4th (use red, white & blue)
PaperPlay Challenges #26 - Anything but a Card
Celebrate the Occasion #20 - 4th of July (red, white & blue)
Going Grey with Scrap Creations - Anything but a Card
Tuesday Throwdown #55 - Red, White & Blue

Have a super weekend!! I will hopefully have some time to finally post layouts I made last weekend!
