SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

Good morning!  Welcome to my stop on the SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Sandi's blog at Slightly Off Center, you are in the right place. If you just happened to stop by (Hi!!), you can start at Suzanne's blog to see all the wonderful creations along the hop. Here is the complete list in case you get sidetracked by awesome creations on the way :)

Suzanne - Scrap With Suzy
Kristie - Scrap, Color, Read and Repeat (You are here!)

You don't want to miss seeing all the "furry" projects we have for you, as well as chances to win some awesome blog candy!

There are 7 of us in today's hop. We are all online scrapbooking friends in a Yahoo group called Scrappin-N-Chattin.  We love to chat, share our creations and challenge ourselves and each other to create lots of wonderful pages, cards and projects! We do tend to get chatty but that is part of the fun :)  We have so many activities, challenges and prizes to keep you scrappin' those memories.

One of the activities we have is a rak called It Girl.  There is a group or two of names and each group starts with one person and then that person will select a name and send a RAK gift off the person's wishlist.  The recipient then will pick a name from that list, shop and send a RAK to another name and so on. It's always fun to get a surprise in your mailbox!

You can visit our group {HERE}! We love to meet new people :) We also love to blog hop and share lots of inspiration from around the web.  For today's hop, we each created a "furry" project.  Instead of scrapping my adorable "baby" Amber, I chose to do a bookmark and a few cards. All tutorial links and supply lists are located way at the bottom since this is a long post!

First up we have my first ever corner bookmark! It was so much fun to make and I see a lot of them in my future :)

Next up is an easel card. It's one of my favorite 'fun' folds. It's so easy and makes a nice impact on a card. Especially when you have a larger image like mine.

My final creation is a card using a new stamp I bought a few months ago.  I couldn't resist this cutie and her puppy! The layout of the card is using Sweet Sunday Sketch #160.

And for the heck of it, here is a picture of my girl :) She loves to hang out behind the couch cushion LOL. She was being a lazy doggy yesterday morning.

It wouldn't be a blog hop without candy, right?!

Here is what I am offering:

For your chance to win these awesome Basic Grey goodies (and believe me, you do *want* them as they are hard to find since they are JoAnn Store exclusives!!), please leave a comment on this post.  If you would like to become a follower (if you aren't already), I would love for you to do that but it's not a requirement to win.  I also have a fan page for my blog on Facebook, if you would like to follow me there. Click {HERE} for that page.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope you enjoyed viewing my creations and will visit again soon.  Prize winners will be announced on Thursday (mine will be posted at night since I work during the day).

Your next stop on the hop is April at Scrapper Forever!

TGIF!  What a wild week it has been and it's predicted to be a wild weekend! We had an earthquake here on Tuesday...yes, it was felt all the way up here in CT!!  As of right now, Hurricane Irene is predicted to hit us on Sunday. I hope all of you in the path of the bad weather stay safe!

Wish Upon a Star is the challenge today at PaperCutz! We'd like to see a creation using stars with any theme/colors you'd like.

I decided to make two bookmarks for the challenge - they are very different from each other but equally fun to make.

Have a great day!  I'm going to a Thirty One Party tonight - excited to check out all the neat stuff I've been admiring in the catalog.

P.S. If you are looking for all of the blinkies I had on the blog, I've created tabs up at the top for them - Challenges, Shopping and Fun Sites (various blogs I visit).  The 3 columns were starting to look cluttered and were bugging me. The cleaner look makes me much happier!

PaperCutz Challenge #103

TGIF!  Any plans for the weekend? I hope to get some crafting done - I say this every Friday and then Monday rolls around and I have nothing done.  Let's hope I can change that!

Today's PaperCutz Challenge is School Days 123 - we want to see a card, layout or project with a Back to School theme AND 1 ribbon, 2 buttons and 3 colors.

I decided to make a bookmark with my favorite Papertrey Ink set called All Booked Up...that lead to having to clean my desk to find the set from the last time I used it a few weeks ago lol.  What a chore but now I actually have a place to create.

Please click HERE to enter your project and check out all the DT samples!

Flutter By Wednesdays #162 - Inspiration Photo

Happy Wednesday!

We have a fun challenge for you at Flutter By Wednesdays this week.  Danni has selected this lovely inspiration picture for us to use.

Don't forget to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations!  Click HERE to enter your project.

I loved the picture from the moment I saw it and I knew I wanted to use my TAC Sunflowers stamp set that I bought from Danni a few months ago.  My first idea was to create a card but I couldn't find the stamp set....then I was going to scrap a page from a visit to a sunflower maze a few years ago...I wasn't in the mood to scrap so I decided to make a bookmark since I have been reading a lot lately.  Guess what I found? The stamp set! Yay!

I pulled out some Papertrey Ink cardstock scraps in Simply Chartreuse and Kraft and stamped the sunflowers and butterfly from the TAC set and quotes/sentiments from the Papertrey Ink All Booked Up set.

It was interesting to color on the green cardstock, the yellow didn't look yellow until it dried. I was a little afraid I'd have to toss it out! Thankfully both bookmarks turned out the way I had hoped and now I just have to decide which one to use first.  I just started The Silver Boat by Luanne Rice yesterday, what does everyone else have on their summer reading list?

I am also entering the following challenges:
Charisma Cards #27 - All About Flowers
Digi Doodle Shop #66 - Butterflies
Stampin' for the Weekend #12 - Wings and Things
Little Miss Muffet Challenges #13 - Anything But a Card

Thanks for fluttering by today!

Reading with Whiff of Joy

I really wanted to use my new Whiff of Joy summer kit a few weeks ago, but I didn't feel like creating a card - strange I know! It was late at night so I decided to create a bookmark instead.

Meet Dreamy Willow with Flowers.

I just love how she turned out. I am very proud of my coloring :) I think the class that I took back in March really helped out with my shading and blending. I just need to play with the markers more since I do notice if I don't use them for a few weeks, I need to get back into a groove with them.

Here are the markers I used:
Skin - EOO
Hair - E31, E33, E35
Dress/Boots/Flowers - G21, G24, BV00, BV11

Cardstock is PTI Kraft and dp is Basic Grey Perhaps (I think...it was a small scrap that I found while looking for something else!)

Thanks for stopping by!
