Sketch Time with Lasting Memories!

I'm so sad the weekend is almost over! I am hoping to have quite a few posts today sharing the cards I made yesterday!

Here is my first share of the day - today's Lasting Memories challenge

We are challenging you to use the following sketch ~ use it as is, flip it, rotate it. Get creative! I decided to rotate the sketch, as you can see below lol. I can't figure it out how to rotate it back in blogger lol. Oops!

Here is my take! I so love this page, it will be the first page for Amber's book.  I still need to add the journaling at the top. There is so much I want to write but I couldn't gather my thoughts when I put the page together a few days ago.  If you can't see the tiny type stickers - the whole title reads She's the One! Everything but the title is from the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection.

Check out what the rest of the DT has made and enter your creation HERE!

A different kind of card for me...

I have been a busy bee today! I'm hanging out at a friend's house crafting and have made 8 cards, starting to lose a little steam now so she suggested I blog one of my cards :)

I created this card for The Paper Variety Sew Much Fun challenge - thankfully faux sewing is allowed since I can't sew to save my life LOL.  I decided to incorporate a sewing theme as well.

I found the Hero Arts Sew Artsy set at a LSS on sale and bought it a few weeks ago and then the fabulous flower you see above is from Precocious Paper, an awesome Etsy shop selling handmade flowers.  These petals are from the DIY Sewing Pattern Petals kit, I really liked making my own flower.  The cool brad, ribbon & pins are from a Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit from a few months ago and the paper is Material Girl by Cosmo Cricket.  This was definitely out of my element but I really LOVE the results!

Going Green for the Blast from the Past Hop!

Are you having fun on the hop?  I hope so, I can't wait to check it out tonight!

Welcome to my stop on the Blast from the Past Hop!  If you're here Karen's awesome blog, then you're right on track. If not, please start HERE at Taylor's blog.

This month we were challenged to use the color green or to go green on our projects.  I went with the color green and I also used Sankari's fabulous sketch!

I used the Udderly Sweet set along with the Garden Variety Project Pantry kit.  I had a lot of fun making this :)  I think the veggie brads just make the card!

The sketch~

Your next stop on the hop is Natalie. There is also a full list of participants below!

Reduce, Re-Use and Recycle with Lasting Memories

I finally got my layout done for this week's Lasting Memories challenge!

This week we'd like to see you reduce, re-use and recycle your scraps or something you have laying around that you could incorporate onto your layout! You have until Saturday night to enter your page for a chance at the Top 3 and to win a prize from Heart Song Designs!

I had this idea in mind for a page to hold my wedding cards (well it will be pages since we have a lot of cards!) So far I got this one done and I used the Wedding Bells digi from Heart Song Designs.  For the recycling challenge, I cut some flowers out of a tissue box.  I saved a bunch of this box design so I have plenty for the rest of the pages lol!  I popped the bells up and strung them through baker's twine from The Twinery...does anyone have any tips on getting it through holes easily?  I struggled with this for quite awhile - the bells took a bit but weren't as hard as trying to get it through the whole page so I finally used brads to hold it to the page.

Now run and make a layout for the challenge! You can enter it HERE!

Aurora with Butterfly

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! I had 3 days off and had fun each and every day!  I did manage to get one card done yesterday but then couldn't upload it since I got a new laptop (yay!!!) and it wouldn't recognize my SD card so we had to change my pics over to a different one this morning.

Back to the card...Danni and I like to challenge each other occasionally to make cards with various stamps/companies since we have a lot of the same things. This weekend we used The Aurora Collections by Victoria Case for SCACD and the color purple.  I have a lot of older stash and purple and never use it.

This is Aurora with Butterfly from the first Aurora Collection. The paper is from my 'older than the hills stash' (a Danni expression lol). BTW, you can see Danni's cards HERE!

I used an older Card Patterns sketch.

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Aurora with butterfly ~ Victoria Case for SCACD
Paper: Georgia Pacific cardstock, misc. cardstock, dp from Provocraft
Ink: Memento
Copics: E00, E27, E29, RV11, RV19, V01, V15, Y15, YG03
Other: Moonlight & Sunshine Smooch, American Crafts ribbon, misc. flower & brad from stash, Martha Stewart punch

I decided to ink up Taylor from the Victoria Case for SCACD collection. This card is geared more towards a teen than a child but I really LOVE how it came out!! I really took my time with coloring and think she looks great.

Flutter By Wednesday #142 – Rainbows or a Rainbow of Colors!

Happy Wednesday!

Today we have a super fun (in my opinion lol) challenge for you at Flutter By Wednesday! We would like to see rainbows or a rainbow of colors along with your butterfly, fairy or angel!

My original plan was to use rainbows & butterflies to create an outdoor scene but then yesterday I had a great idea to break out my Leigh Fairy from PMS (who hadn’t seen ink yet!) and create a card for a special friend of mine. I used the PMS Raindrops & Rainbows set as well for the rainbow and word art that I put inside the card. Yes I decorate the inside of another card, nothing fancy but it’s not plain yay me! It’s a little hard to see but I used crystal stickles on the wings and clouds and diamond glaze on the puddle & raindrops.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I hope you all had a sweet day!

This is the card I made for my husband. I found this House Mouse image in my stash so I'm not sure of the name...the paper is from Bo Bunny Crush. I love all the heart patterns in this pad.

I even decorated the inside! The stamps are from an old CTMH set. The ribbon is from American Crafts, I won it in a blog candy package from my friend Jennie a few months ago.

I'm entering these challenges:
Crafty Catz #69 - Valentines/Love
2 Sisters #26 - Hearts

And a few photos from our night lol...our family photo. This is our first married V-day and our first with our puppy!

Our yummy dinner prepared by my husband!

The Pink Pup - Lasting Memories #25

I had such fun putting this layout together for our 25th challenge at Lasting Memories. This week's challenge is to use red, white and/or pink. For me it was all about the PINK lol!

We also have a surprise - our first sponsor! Glitterbabe's Digis owned by the fabulous Stef! She generously let the DT each pick out a digi to use. Since I had the pink already in mind, I selected the Dahlia image which comes in black & white AND pre-colored. Well the pre-colored digi matched my pics perfectly so that's what I used on my hidden journaling box up in the right corner. The journaling says how excited I was to buy Amber lots of pink things to wear lol. I love dressing her up!

Check out Lasting Memories to see what you can win and how to enter, it's super easy!

Supplies~

Stamps: Dahlia image by Glitterbabe's Digis

Paper: Bazzill white & pink, misc. red cardstock

Other: Stampin' Up eyelet border punch, Stampin' Up Ticket corner punch, heart brads from stash, Vinyl & Foam thickers

Saturday Afternoon...

I spent my morning doing laundry and was told that I needed to get crafty this afternoon...wasn't having much luck deciding on what to do so I settled on coloring a new copic chart and putting all my markers in their new storage. Last week we went to Jerry's Artarama so I could get a few new copics and Mike spotted these storage cases. Perfect timing as my basket couldn't fit one more marker in it. I think these will work out great since I'll be able to find what I need quickly!

Here's how they look on my desk (behind the chart). I also picked up some gamsol and stumps to try with my prisma pencils. In case you are wondering that is a bathroom caddy to the left, it was hanging around so I decided to put it to use, inside are my big acrylic blocks and pop dots and in the pockets I have the smaller blocks and tape runners. It's working out great! The small containers to the right of the copics hold some glues and the gamsol/stumps. I recycled them as they were containers that held crystal light type drinks.

I think I'm ready to create now!

Lasting Memories #24

Good morning!

I hope you are all having a great weekend! I haven't crafted as much as I hoped, but the weekend's not over yet! Since it's Sunday, it's time for another Lasting Memories Challenge!

This week's it's to use your Cricut and/or Die Cuts! I have to insert a PSA here ~ if you have a Gypsy for your Cricut, learn how to use it LOL! You'll see below...that big yellow bone, should have been 5 inches wide, not 5 inches tall rofl! I haven't gotten all of my cartridges loaded, I've played around with it a bit but haven't tried cutting anything from the Gypsy yet. I had to rework my layout to accommodate the big bone since I didn't feel like digging to find the same shade of yellow cardstock. I have to say I really like how it turned out!

I am really enjoying scrapping our puppy! I used Basic Grey Max & Whiskers paper for the background and the Bloomers & Glazed Brad for embellishment. The bone was cut from the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge.

You can enter your layout HERE and while you're visiting, check out what the rest of the DT created!

My PTI Favorite!

Did you hear??? PTI is having a HUGE contest in honor of their 4th anniversary!! You can read all the details HERE!

One way to win is to repost your favorite PTI project from 2010, so I am sharing the favors I made for my wedding. I absolutely love how the bookmarks came out and can't wait to make some more! I used the All Booked Up stamp set and coordinating bookmark die. The cardstock is all PTI as well. The bookmarks were stuck in the placecards that were made with the PTI placecard die. The original blog post with this project is HERE.

Happy Anniversary PTI!

The Unscripted Lollipop Sisters!

I love it when I can come up with fun post titles!

I really wanted to participate in Lollipop Crafts 'Sisters' challenges this week and finally got a chance to play tonight. I inked up PMS Hugging Fairies for the very first time *pats self on back* and used more of my BG Wisteria scraps. The buttons are from that collection as well.

I really enjoyed coloring these two lovely ladies. I tried to mimic my sister and I, she's the one on the right a little deeper skintone and lighter hair. She loves to wear grey, usually the darker the better lol. I liked this combo of light gray with the blue violet copic. I used Smooch Illuminate on their wings but it's not showing up.

I incorporated the Unscripted Sketch from last Saturday and rotated it to fit my image.

Copics Used:
Fairy 1
Hair - E25, E27, E29
Skin - R00, R20
Dress/Shoes - V12, V15, V17

Fairy 2
Hair - E35, E37, E39
Skin - R01, R20
Dress/Shoes - T1, T3, BV23

TFL! I'm hoping to have more time to create and share this weekend!

FBW #140 - Open Challenge

Happy Groundhog Day, it's also Flutter By Wednesday!

We have an open challenge this week, just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel. It's also a sponsored week!

We are sponsored by Michelle Perkett Studio and she generously gave the FBW team a few pretty fairies to play with. Check out the FBW blog for the rules to play along and also check out the DT links to see what they've done with Michelle's images!

I used the Arianna image, isn't she wonderful? I had a great time coloring her up.

In this side view, you can glimpse the fairy dust paint that I used on her wings. To color her I used copics - R00, R20, R83, Y32, y35, BV11, BV13, B26 and G99. The sentiment is from the Verve Kind Words set.
