OCC Sketch & Recipe Challenge #37

Today was Tilda day. I have been struggling with coloring these cuties, I'm not sure why but it took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do for the Magnolia rain girls this month. I ended up creating 3 different cards, once I got started with the first one, I couldn't stop. I can show another one tomorrow and the last one will be shown once the recipient gets it...she's a blog reader and I don't want to ruin the surprise (hi Danni!)

I started by picking a sketch. I used this week's sketch challenge over at Our Creative Corner. I only have one oval punch so I decided to use a scrap piece of paper to mount the punch on. Looks a little funky but it grew on me by the time the card was complete.

The second challenge I incorporated was the Recipe Challenge #37 over at Sketches by Tamara. The challenge was to incorporate flowers, buttons and stickles/glitter. I used Gold Glimmer Shimmerz for my glitter.

Unity Tree

This was an interesting card to create. I was NOT allowed to color...how can I not color??? I think you all know how much I love to color, especially with my copics. So this really was the challenge it was intended to be. I created this for Stamp Simply #75 - Black Ink Only and I used this week's Unity Sketch over at the SCS Unity forum.


The stamps are from the Endings & Beginnings, the February KOTM at Unity Stamp Co. I just love their stamps. They are fresh & fun. So since I couldn't color, I chose the tree to be my main image. It really screamed to be colored green, but I didn't give in LOL! The paper is Basic Grey Scarlett's Letter and I used ribbon from Michaels, along with the Mega Scallop punch by Marvy. Its not one of my favorite cards but it was different and outside of my box a bit.

Thinking of You with a Flutter By

I just love this card! It screams spring and sunshine to me, meanwhile its gray and icky out. Rain later and maybe snow this weekend. Spring get here soon please!

I started with the sketch for the card. Its Sketch #84 on Sketches by Tamara this week. Fun sketch and you can do many things with it.

Next up, I decided to make this a butterfly card for Danni's Flutter By Wednesday. The extra challenge this week was to make the card orange and yellow. These are not colors I use a whole lot so I had to dig for some paper. Luckily my new MM Chloe's Closet is nice and springy with these colors in it. The butterfly is Gem Stone Butterfly from Inkadinkadoo, its from their new releases.

And lastly, since this is a springy card, it qualifies for the Stamp Simply #76 Cabin Fever. I definitely have Cabin Fever. Hopefully spring will come soon and I'll start to see flutter bys while I'm out and about.

Meet Miss Snow Bunny

Little Miss Snowbunny here is from the Snow Bunnies Gingersnaps set by CC Designs over at All That Scraps. I am not a big fan of winter but I couldn't resist these cute little girls. You can get them in mounted on EZ Mount or as a digi download. I have yet to figure out the digi download world so you can guess which way I bought them LOL!

I had to create a card for a Red, White & Black swap and I thought this stamp was perfect for it since it didn't require a whole lot of coloring. My most favorite part of her is the trim on her coat. I used Stampendous White Fun Flock to doll up her trim. The sketch is from SFYTT a few weeks ago which you can see HERE and I used Basic Grey Bittersweet dp.

~Endings & Beginnings~

This card was created with the flower from the February Kit of the Month from Unity Stamp Co. My new favorite place to hang out, especially on Thursdays when they have Hip Hop Thursday with lots of inspiration, fun, deals & steals. I ordered a grab bag of 50 stamps for $50 - how can you beat that?? I'm hoping it gets here soon!


The layout of the card was used as a sketch for one of my groups, I'm not sure where they found it so I can't give proper credit. It was a great sketch for this cute flower though! The paper is Basic Grey Euphoria. If you click on the photo to enlarge it, you can see where I used Ranger Glossy Accents on the vase and Cotton Candy stickles on the flower. The stem and table were colored with copics - 100 Black, G24 Willow, and V15 Mallow. Oh and I punched out flowers from Euphoria scraps with my Marvy flower punches and then I painted them with Angel Wings Shimmerz. I have discovered that I like using my smaller punches again, but I need to bling them up even if they are cut from patterned paper. The pretty ribbon is from my stash.

My Time to Craft Challenge #49: Pink & Brown

When I came across this Pink & Brown challenge on My Time to Craft on Saturday, how could I not do it? Its my all time favorite color combination. I used another Jen del Muro sketch, this one from last month.

I created this card for a button & bows swap using the Gina K "my cuppa' joe" stamp set. It seemed perfect to use with the circle theme on the card. The circles were inked with SU Creamy Caramel. I used Basic Grey Sugared dp and the yummy double-sided ribbon is from American Crafts. I've had to restock this ribbon a few times as I love to use it!

This is my 2nd post for today so if you missed the first one, don't forget to check it out!

I created this card yesterday using the Sketch for You to Try over at I {heart} 2 Stamp. Jen's blog is one of my favorite places to check out every Saturday morning. I used my Changito Pair stamp for an At the Zoo swap. Monkeys are one of my favorite things to visit when I go to the zoo, along with the elephants, hippos and giraffes. I can't wait until its warm enough to start doing day trips. The Bronx Zoo is on my list!

Since I was on a Basic Grey kick, this time I used papers from the Ambrosia line. The sentiment is from one of my many Studio G sets and the flowers are from Prima. In my effort to use my tools more, I used my Marvy mega and giga punches for the scalloped ovals.

Sketch Saturday #39

This card uses a very cute Paper Pretties stamp called Rainy Day. I received it in a mystery image challenge on one of my groups. Its so fun to see how different we all use the same image! I used Sketch Saturday #39 to create my card.

Oh what fun it was to cut the sentiment apart and use it that way...ha! I kept losing different parts of it as I was mounting them and almost had to use the extra one.

Flutter By Wednesday #45

I had a very long crafting session today and this was card #1 of 8 total. I'll be sharing the rest sporadically thoughout the weekend and next week. I hope to get in more crafting time tomorrow to get a few more cards and other projects done (or at least started!)

I really loved how it turned out. The sketch was for one of my card groups. Once I selected my image, I knew I had to enter it into Danni's Flutter By Wednesday challenge (to use a butterfly and this week a bonus challenge of using blues/purples)! Hopefully my picture shows off the sparkle enough, it looks much better IRL. To get the butterflies sparkly, I ran them through my Xyron X upside down and then covered them in Crystal Fine glitter by Martha Stewart. Then I added sparkle to the flutterby held by Butterflyabella with my lavender copic spica pen.

It's a Girl!

I made this card for a dear friend that had a little girl about 6 weeks ago. I finally got to go meet her on Monday and she is just precious! This is the card that I made her parents to welcome her into the world.

I used another image that was RAKed to me, its just too cute! The sketch is Mojo Monday #73 and was really quite fun putting together. I tried to get as many layers on there as I could. The paper is Sugared by Basic Grey, just perfect for baby cards!

Cute Cow

I made this cute little cow for an Animal ATC swap. I usually don't do ATC's as I don't end up doing anything with them, however I just couldn't resist this theme since I have lots of cute animals to use.


First I cut GP cardstock into ATC size and then I used a stipple brush to add SU Green Galore around the edges. Then I tore and layered DCWV spring paper on it. Then I stamped this cute cow from the TAC An'Udder Birthday set on another layer of GP cardstock and then sponged Memento Angel Pink around the cow. I colored her in with prismacolor pencils (shocking I know!) and added a few prima flowers to add a little dimension.

Yum, cupcakes!

This is the first stair step card that I created a few weeks ago, for some reason or another, I kept forgetting to share it.


I used Hero Art's Limited Edition Cupcake set and the HA Clear Cupcake set, love them both and it was the first time using the clear cupcakes, I think they are adorable! The paper is Basic Grey's Cupcake line, how appropriate. To glitter the card up a bit, I used Xmas Red, Peeled Paint and Crystal stickles.

I {heart} to Stamp with a little bit of flutterby

I made this card for February's Aloha RAK group...I used two challenges to create the card.

The sketch is from yesterday's I {heart} to Stamp Sketch for You to Try and used more yummy dp from the Basic Grey Sultry line.

I also wanted to do Danni's Flutter by Wednesday #44...the challenge was to use a butterfly, sparkle and buttons. Hopefully you can see the sparkle on her shirt and the butterflies, I used the copic spica clear pen and its not showing up as well as I had hoped!

I made this card for the Magnolia-licious January Mingle (albeit just a few weeks late, whoops!) I used Cutie Sunday's Sketch 29 as seen below.


This is my first time using Tilda with flower, I think she's so cute and I can't wait to use her again. I paper pieced her dress using Basic Grey Sultry. I also broke out the Shimmerz and used them on her wings and the flower.

Be Mine

Today I am making valentines...

First up is a Paper Pretties image raked to me by Ann. Isn't she adorable? There will be more cards with her coming up later. I just couldn't wait to share this one.

The sketch is February Card #2 from Just My Sketches. You can see it HERE. I used a ton of copics to color this image in...I think the next one will be a little simpler LOL. It took 2 pics to get them all in to show you what I used!

I got the pink markers last week and had to try them all out on this card and of course the valentines had to have some sparkle so I used my red and clear copic spica pens.

I attempted to shade her hair a bit...I need a lot of practice! The rest of the colors were used to color her, the table, chair, etc.

Time for lunch and then more card making. I hope you're all having a happy, crafty day!

Aloha RAK from Nicky

I found Tracy's blog awhile ago and saw that she hosts a monthly Aloha RAK. Last month I was paired up with Nicky and she sent me the prettiest card and neatest RAK. I adore this mini calendar and I can't wait to try the candy!

Stylish Tilda

Stylish Tilda is one of the few non-holiday/birthdays Magnolia stamps that I own. When I joined the Magnolia "raining" cards group, I knew that I wanted to use this stamp first. The sketch is another one from the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Anniversay Challenge - you can see it HERE.

I had a lot of fun with all the layers and the mixing up of the patchwork squares. I used the new Me and My Big Ideas Fashion District paper. Another 50% off Michaels special! And you guessed it...more copics! I used E33, R11, B93, B95, Y000, E11, R00, E25 and Y32. I also used the colorless blender, a pink prismacolor pencil since I didn't have the right color copic and the Ranger Inkessentials white pen. The green and brown cardstock is from Close to My Heart, sweet leaf and chocolate. Not sure where the blue is from and I stamped on the Georgia Pacific cardstock.

Cuppacakeabella

This is a card that I made a few weeks ago for my coworker's girlfriend's birthday. Cuppacakeabella was one of the first bellas that I bought last year and she's one of my favorites! I used THIS sketch from Ana Wohlfarht's blog Inkastamp for the Taylored Expressions Cupcake Anniversary Challenge. It was a standard card sketch but I turned mine into a square and went a little crazy with layers and embellishments since it wasn't going to be at the mercy of the USPS.

I went with the new Making Memories Sabrina 6x6 stack for this card, isn't it pretty? I also got the 12x12 version - couldn't go wrong with a 50% off sale. The "celebrate" is from the CTMH Say it in Style set. I love the versatility of that word set, I use it all the time! The rhinestone is from a pack of Darice Finishing Touches rhinestones that I picked up at Michaels....clearance price $0.40, you better believe that I bought all I could get my hands on!

I used my copics to color the stamp in. The picture (taken with my old camera) is too horrible to post, so I'll spare your eyes and just list the colors: 100, R00, R20, Y000 & Y32. I also used the copic spica clear pen and my gelly roll stardust pen to make it sparkle.

Card Sketch #81

Tonight after stamping a bunch of images, I decided to take one and whip up a card. I found this cute sketch on the Sketches by Tamara blog today and it worked perfectly with the ladybug Fluffles.

The embellishments are all Making Memories. I got them on sale at Crazy Scraps during their big clearance sale a few weeks ago. They match my Basic Grey Sultry paper just great!

And of course, I just had to use the copics again LOL!
