PaperCutz Challenge #107

Happy Friday! What a loooooong week it's been! I'm happy to have a 3 day weekend. We've got lots to do around the house and I need to get some crafty time in!

Today's PaperCutz Challenge is Designer's Choice! The talented Diane (who does fabulous Cricut work) is challenging us to create a card, layout or project using 2 cricut cuts or stamped images of zoo animals along with some dimension or bling!  You are free to use any colors/themes you'd like.

One would think I would *finally* use my Create a Critter Cricut cartridge - nope, I decided to go with a stamp set that hasn't seen love in a long time - my good friend Changito. We used to be best buds until I discovered so many other stamp companies.  I created a little scene for my friends - it took a bit for me to get it the way I envisioned but I like the results.

For my bling, I used a copic spica pen in Chocolate for the coconuts and for dimension I added some Milk Chocolate crinkled ribbon from My Craft Spot behind the mat and popped up the whole panel.  The edges of the card were inked with Colorbox Chalk ink in Chestnut Roan.

I love zoo animals so I can't wait to see what you all come up with! Please enter your creation {HERE} and check out the DT samples on the PCC blog or use the links on my left sidebar.

Dig out those patterned papers!

Today's Paper Cutz challenge is to use 3 patterned papers!

I made this card for a Letter M swap as well. This image is so fun, I just love Changito!

My patterned papers are from the Basic Grey Granola collection and the image was colored with E25, N5 & N7. The brads are from Making Memories.

If you'd like to play along (I'm sure most of you have plenty of pp!!), please link your creation to the Paper Cutz blog, while you are there check out the inspiration from the rest of the DT!

Hope you have a great Friday!

Here is one of them. I had Mike again pick a number and it corresponded to this week’s Limelight sketch challenge.  Oooh it was a tough one but I’m glad I did it, love how it turned out!

I am so excited for today, the launch of Party Time Tuesdays!!

The first challenge is an easy one..."Anything Goes Birthday", just make sure to include a birthday greeting/sentiment on the card front.

My card is very CAS...it was for my little cousin's 3rd birthday the other day. I decided to keep it flat and just keep the focus on the monkeys. The layout is from Eat Sleep Stamp - ESS#83.

Card Details~
Stamps: Changito B-day ~ Stampendous
Paper: PTI Stampers Select White, Basic Grey Cupcake
Ink: Memento
Copics: R46, YG95, E25, E27

If you'd like to play along, please link your card to the Party Time Tuesdays blog and for more inspiration check out the design team's cards. They are featured on the PTT blog (along with the June Guest Designer) and their personal blogs are listed on the right sidebar.

You're Cool Beans

This is the card that I created for my stepdad for Father's Day. I was having a hard time until I saw this sketch last Sunday morning - yes I know, nothing like waiting til the last minute!!

This is SSSC23 from The Sweetest Thing blog. I immediately thought of Gina K's My Cuppa' Joe set when I saw the squares, except I envisioned circles with the coffee cups.

I can't believe I made a card with NO patterned paper! That does not happen often at all! I thought the strip in the middle would be great run through the Cuttlebug and I was right.

Here's a glimpse of the inside. I couldn't find my sentiment stamps so I used Changito Coffee to spruce it up.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you all have a good weekend. I hope to get lots of cards made at some point. If not, I still have a few to share from last weekend.

The Recipe:
Stamps: My Cuppa' Joe ~ Gina K. Designs, Stampendous
Paper: GP, PTI Kraft, Dark Chocolate & Spring Rain
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Copics ~ E55, E57 & B21
Accessories: argyle embossing folder, CM circle punch, misc. buttons

Changito at Home

I love, love, love how this card turned out!! I only wish I had made 3 instead of just the 2 that I needed for a masculine swap.

This cute stamp is called Changito at Home, its from Stampendous' new line from this spring. The coolest thing is that, besides the cuteness, is that it was available in cling form. Woohoo for taking up less storage space and it stamps just as nicely as the wood mounted Changitos.

The layout of this card is ESS39. Its another fabulous sketch by Tracy over at Eat Sleep Stamp. I did have to flip the sketch to make my image fit right.

Here is my version:

I paper pieced Changito's pajamas and his furniture. It was a pain, but I really love the end result! It was tough keeping track of some of the tinier pieces. After the first one, I put the pieces into the Xyron X so I wouldn't drop them. My other favorite feature of this card is the wood floor that I drew in! Its not perfect but it really gives the card the "feel" of a home. I hope the recipients like them as much as I do.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Changito at Home ~ Stampendous
Paper: GP, Paper Co, Leisure Arts patterned paper (waaaaaaaay old stash!!)
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento
Copics: T1, T3, B97, E27, E35, E53
Accessories: silver spica pen, zig millenium writer, staples (used for the ribbon)~ Making Memories

Here's a bonus Changito for you!
I created these embellished stamped images last week for a 4th of July swap. If you click on the picture and make it bigger, you'll see that I covered the fireworks in glossy accents and Star Dust stickles.

Thanks for stopping in!

Celebrate with Changito!

I participate in a Card of the Week swap on one of my yahoo groups. This month's theme is "Man" cards. I don't think I'm all that great at masculine cards, so I figured this would be a good challenge. I used Sketch #228 from SCS.

This is Changito celebrating the weekend LOL!

The Recipe:
Stamps: Changito Coffee ~ Stampendous, Say It in Style ~ CTMH, My Cuppa' Joe ~ Gina K. Designs
Paper: GP, Paper Company, Papertrey Ink, CTMH
Ink: Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa ~ Memento, Copics ~ E11, E33, E37, B02
Accessories: ticket corner punch ~ Stampin Up

Thanks for stopping by! Hope your week is off to a good start!

Best Friends

Happy Sunday!

This is my 2nd post for today so if you missed the first one, don't forget to check it out!

I created this card yesterday using the Sketch for You to Try over at I {heart} 2 Stamp. Jen's blog is one of my favorite places to check out every Saturday morning. I used my Changito Pair stamp for an At the Zoo swap. Monkeys are one of my favorite things to visit when I go to the zoo, along with the elephants, hippos and giraffes. I can't wait until its warm enough to start doing day trips. The Bronx Zoo is on my list!

Since I was on a Basic Grey kick, this time I used papers from the Ambrosia line. The sentiment is from one of my many Studio G sets and the flowers are from Prima. In my effort to use my tools more, I used my Marvy mega and giga punches for the scalloped ovals.
The Recipe: Stamps: Changito Pair (Stampendous), Studio G Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento) Paper: Georgia Pacific, Basic Grey Ambrosia Accessories: punches (Marvy), flowers (Prima), brads (Making Memories)

Time for me to get back to the craft table! Thanks for looking :D

Birthday cards for my best buds!

Two of my bestest buds turned 30 this month. These are the cards I created for them.

Jen loves pink and monkeys so I just had to incorporate both into a card. And of course it needed some bling! This was based on a sketch but I lost my notes so can't give credit.

Stamps: Changito Birthday (Stampendous)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Paper: DCWV, Paper Company
Accessories: Crystal Ice Stickles, prismacolor pencils, prima flowers

Glori, whom I've known since I was 12 (for over half my life now!), loves wine and we celebrated her big day at a local wine bar. Winobella was perfect for the occasion! I picked out the paper with this stamp in mind, again I lost the notes so I don't know who made it. She needed some bling to party in so I used my newlyfound Copic Spica pens.

Stamp: Winobella (Stamping Bella)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Paper: unknown
Accessories: Marvy Extra Giga scallop punch, SU scallop punch, prima flower, brad (joanns)

The Last of the Halloween Cards

Here are a few more of the Halloween cards I made this year.

Here's Witchybella ready to party!

Stamps: Witchybella (Stamping Bella), sentiment (Studio G)
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine), Hydrangea (CTMH)
Paper: DCWV
Accessories: ghost eyelet (unknown), Stickles, prismacolor pencils

This is one of my favorite new stamps that I've gotten in the last few months. I won both of them on ebay. I couldn't wait to use him so I could use the coveted Martha Stewart Drippy Goo punch. I found mine at a LSS up in Vermont on a weekend getaway.

Stamps: Stampendous
Ink: Onyx Black (Versafine)
Paper: DCWV
Accessories: Drippy Goo punch (Martha Stewart), ribbon (unknown), prismacolor pencils

Its Grilling Time!

Another card for yet another summer swap. I had to create 4 different cards to send to the same person in July. Next month's theme is C - I'm already half done with those. Ahead of the game for once!!
The stamp here is Changito Chef from Stampendous. I love the Changito line. I saw a preview of Changito Christmas stamps, oh I can't wait until the stamp store gets them in! The paper is all DCWV Summer Stack and the coloring was done with my prismacolor pencils. I added the Ranger Glossy Accents to his hat just give him a little oomph, stickles didn't seem appropriate LOL!

TFL! Its off to bed for me...I'd like to stay up to finish watching the Sox/Yankees game (GO SOX!) but there is still 2 more innings and I need my beauty sleep ;)
