The Toy Graveyard

I'm sure you're all thinking what the heck is she talking about??? LOL

When we first got Amber we got her a bunch of toys not knowing what she would like or what her temperament was....well we quickly found out that she is one heck of a powerful chewer! Even the stuffed toys that said 3x stronger than regular toys didn't hold up lol. I saved all of the toys in a box just so I can take pics for a layout. I couldn't set them up in the box very well so you could see all the injuries and just laid them out on the dining room table.

Here are the poor toys. I used Basic Grey's Max & Whiskers line for everything but the lettering (which is made up of October Afternoon, Thickers and Cosmo Cricket). The sketch is from Nuts about Sketches. I love finding two page layouts holding lots of pics!

(you can click on the picture to see a larger version)

Here is the sketch~
I think that wraps up my weekend of crafting. I've had a few late nights and am too tired to do anything tonight!

It's Sketch Time with Lasting Memories!

Good morning!

It's time for my 1st post as a new design team member at Lasting Memories. This week we have a sketch for you. You can enter your layout HERE and check out all the wonderful DT samples while you are there as well.

Here is my take on the sketch. I altered it a little bit since I decided to use this as a 2nd page to a layout I created on Friday night. I love sketches that are multi-photo since I take so many pictures!

Here are the two pages together~

We hope to see you at Lasting Memories!

Tri-Shutter Friendship Card

On another yahoo group I belong to, Scrap Friendly, we were challenged to create a tri-shutter card. Seeing as I never made one, I decided to finally try it out. I used this SCS tutorial, I had a bit of a tough time getting the card base right...probably since I started it really late last night lol! I incorporated a friendship quote to enter The Paper Variety's friendship challenge.

The paper is Memory Box Brioche, I picked it up at a stamp store a few weekends ago and yes, shocker I cut into it already! The quote is from The Purpose of Friendship set by Paper Makeup Stamps. I accented the card using a Martha Stewart punch, bling from my stash, felt flowers cut out with Nestabilities and an EK Success border punch.

This is the full card~

Another shot with a better view of the quote~

Christmas 2010

I am so happy to be spending so much time in my craftroom this weekend!

I made this layout for the Scrappin-n-Chattin yahoo group's January sketch challenge. This page will go first in the album for Christmas 2010. I'm sure it will be enough for an album lol, I have more pics than I thought and may need to get another BG Jovial collection!

Here is a closeup of the Jovial Pops. I strung them together with PTI twine and tied it together on the back of the page.

The full layout~

I took a few liberties with this sketch between rotating it and using bigger pictures. I liked the grid idea and selected a few pictures to highlight this Christmas. Our tree, a few ornaments that I received last Christmas and we can't forget our new addition for this Christmas, of course I had to feature our pup!

This is the sketch from Pencil Lines~

SNC January 24 Hour Challenge

The Scrappin-n-Chattin yahoo group has a 24 hour challenge the last weekend of each month. We list 3 collections we'd like to use and our partner picks one of three sketches and one of our 3 collections. This month Abby chose for me! She chose sketch #3 (which is by Studio Calico) and Basic Grey Jovial.

Here is my take on the sketch. I really like how it turned out. I have a bunch more pics from our Christmas Card photo shoot so I will use those on a 2nd page, the journaling will also be on the 2nd page.

This is the sketch. I rotated it to suit what I had in mind.

January SFYTT

First ~ thank you to everyone that commented on my 'white on white' card! I so appreciate all of them!

With just a few days to spare, I am getting my January SFYTT card posted. I started it last Saturday at a friend's house and then I decided to add glitter to the frosting one night. Then the next night I was going to post it and then decided to add glitter to the candles lol. One can never have too much glitter!

This adorable bunny is from The Cat's Pajamas and is called Forget About the Cake. He was so happy to get out of the package and get inked up! The happy paper is from SEI called Happy Day. A tip regarding the sentiment, it was one long sentiment and I folded it over a clear block so I could stamp it on two lines.

Here is the sketch~

White on White

White on White...that is this week's Flutter By Wednesday challenge! Your image may have color but the rest of your card/project must be ALL white! As always you must include a butterfly, fairy or angel!

I have to say this was TOUGH for me!!!! I procrastinated until the very last minute LOL! I settled on using Snowflake Lily weeks ago since I've had the digi printed out for a long time but then I just couldn't figure out what to do with her! I finally decided to create a little snow scene since here in the Northeast I've been dealing with a lot of snow, more to come later today!

I used my polka dots cuttlebug folder for the background and then added a few Martha Stewart punched snowflakes (punched from PTI shimmer cardstock) and some misc. clear gems from my stash. I wanted to keep the card on the lighter side so I colored Lily's hair blonde and her outfit with BV000 and BV11. Added some fun flock to her coat and lots of Smooch Illuminate to make everything sparkle (bummer...it's not showing up at all in the pic!).

You can link up your 'White on White' challenge HERE and for more inspiration, please visit the rest of the FBW team. Links are on my left sidebar!

Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to You!

A quick share for tonight...

I made this card for my brother-in-law whose birthday is today. I used the Party Hat Wishes set by Ippity and the paper is Basic Grey Oliver. I still love to make birthday cards and have a few more to post this week!

I used ESS114 for the layout, love Tracy's sketches!

TFL! I'll be back in the morning with a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge!

Snow Much Fun!

I just finished this 2 page layout of my cutie pie Amber. These are more pics from our first snowfall on the day after Christmas. We took her up the street to my parents' so she could run around in their fenced yard. She loves the snow! We've had a lot more since then and I've got lots more pics and a short video clip!

I incorporated the recipe challenge at Lasting Memories and I'm also throwing my name in the hat for a DT spot. I really enjoyed my time there last year and was sorry to step down when I had some health issues to deal with. Anywho back to the recipe - 1 ribbon (the sparkly one on the right page), 2 buttons (the white snowflakes on the left page), and 3 colors (eek...screwed up a teeny tiny bit here!). I focused on the red, white, blues in the Echo Park Wintertime paper. I didn't realize there was a little brown in it until it was too late. The layout design is my own and I'm very pleased with how it came out!

I'm finally off to bed, spent most of the night packing for a crop at a friend's house tomorrow! So many projects in my head...we'll see what I can get done!

Easy challenge this week at Paper Cutz!

I created a congratulations card for one of my co-workers that had a baby boy a few weeks ago. I used my favorite baby set from Stampin' Up - Cuddles & Tickles. I picked it up at a scrapbook store tag sale a few years ago and always turn to it when I need to make baby cards!

I used this FTL sketch for a starting point~

TE Blast from the Past Blog Hop!!

{Please scroll down if you are here to see my Flutter By Wednesday post!}

Welcome to my stop on the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop! I'm so glad to be playing along this month! If you just happened upon here, please start at the TE blog so you don't miss anything! You will find a full list of participants below as well.

I've got two fun creations to share with you all today using the theme 'Love'. The first is a card using a sketch created by the fabulous Sankari! I flipped it to accommodate what I had in mind.

I used the Love Everywhere set, seeing as I have my own lovable dog now I just had to use the pooch from this set! This set happens to be on sale right now too!

Here is my 2nd creation! I used the TE calendar template along with the Love Everywhere set again. I had fun blinging it up with my stickles.

Happy Hopping!

Angel Anya for FBW #138

Today's Flutter By Wednesday challenge is an open one! Just remember to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. You can enter it HERE and for some inspiration please visit my fellow DT members, links on my left sidebar!

I've been making lists of all my stamps (scary!!!) and came across Angel Anya who hadn't seen ink yet (she was so sad too!). I pulled out my DCWV Linen Closet stack once again, it's perfect for this lovely Anya. I paper pieced her dress with one of the tiny scraps I've been saving (see you really can use those for something!)

I used SC315 for the layout, so many possibilities with this one. Will definitely save it for future use!

Stamps: Angel Anya ~ The Greeting Farm, Everyday Sayings ~ Hero Arts

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Colorbox Chalk Creamy Brown
Copics: E00, E35, E37, E39, BG13

First Snow

I scrapped my first page of the year today. Yay!!!

Here's a sneak peek of the title ~ it wasn't my brightest idea to use the vinyl thickers since they don't show up well in the photo!

Of course I couldn't resist incorporating a few challenges~

The Paper Variety - started by my friends Abby & Suz months ago and I finally have the time to participate, woohoo!

and I'm entering it into the Double Dip challenge on the Yahoo Group Scrappin-N-Chattin, enter a challenge on a blog, forum, etc. and share that challenge with SNC.

These are the first pics that I've scrapped of our dog Amber. She's now 10 months old so this is her first experience with snow. We rescued her through the SPCA and she came from Alabama.
I used Bo Bunny's Winter Joy for the designer paper as well as the coordinating chipboard. The cardstock is Bo Bunny Double Dot. I just had to use my EK Success paw print border punch along the photo mat to mimic Amber's prints in the snow.

I used an older sketch from the Sketch Inspiration forum~

Paper Cutz is back!

TGIF!

Paper Cutz is back from holiday break to challenge you all again! Today's challenge is to create a card, layout or project using METAL and any color/theme!

My mojo is on vacation somewhere (hopefully warm!!) so I had a hard time coming up with something...I decided to go 'back' so to speak. I have a small stack of cards that I started a few summers ago and never finished. This card is one of them...the base/image were already done. I added the sentiment, embellishments and also colored the image in, and guess what? NO Copics!! This image was stamped back when I was using Versafine so I decided to stay in the theme of 'old' and I pulled out my prismacolor pencils to color Cosmobella in.

And here is the card~

If you'd like to join in the challenge, please link your creation HERE.

Card Supplies:
Stamps: Cosmobella (Stamping Bella), Little Moments (Paper Makeup Stamps)
Paper: Basic Grey Scarlett's Letter, misc white cardstock
Ink: Versafine, Memento
Other: brads, prismacolor pencils

Mom's Christmas Gifts

In addition to gifting my mom a few gift cards, I also altered a picture frame and created a web passwords book.

This is the frame...I forget who made it but I've had it for years, bought it at a scrap store that is no longer in business. The picture is of my sister's dog, Jellybean, and my dog, Amber. Yes, I bought them matching dresses LOL! Trying to get them to pose for a picture was quite the task! Mom loved it!

Paper: Basic Grey Jovial
Other: Basic Grey Pops, Cosmo Cricket letter stickers and misc. letter stickers from my stash

This is the cover of the web passwords book. I covered, inked and embellished the chipboard and then printed THIS template from Taylored Expressions. We haven't decided how to bind it just yet, but she loved it since this shade of green is her favorite!

Paper: Basic Grey Marjolaine
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Other: Basic Grey Pops & letter stickers
