Make A Wish

I'm back with another card for a few challenges!

I have grown to love silhouette images, they make such a striking impact on a card. My favorites are from Paper Makeup Stamps, this image and sentiment are from the Dandy Wishes set which I won in their summer blog hop last month. I heat embossed both the image and sentiment with Colorbox ink, love the result! I tried it in white...not so good lol. I need to buy Colorbox ink in white. While I was cleaning this week I found my old chalks and chalked the image with Pebbles Ink pearlescent chalk.

I used the current sketch challenge at Taylored Expressions

and will enter my card in the following challenges:

Challenge Projects - Day 1

It's only Day 1 and I am loving the Layout a Day challenge and May with May class!

The LOAD prompt for today was to use the basics - photos, cardstock, patterned paper, journaling and a title. I was able to do this page in about 30 minutes and didn't use a sketch! I am so impressed with myself LOL! It was nice not fussing around trying to find the 'perfect' paper or embellishments.

May's prompt for the May with May class was to complete a crafty project is 30 minutes or less. Now I could have taken the easy way out and used my LOAD page but nope, I'm all about getting crafty this month so I challenged myself to make a card!  I pulled out a stamp that's never seen ink (yay me!) and I used the paper & embellishments already on my desk from yesterday.

LOAD supplies - Bazzill cardstock, DCWV patterned paper (from the OLD stash!), Thickers, zig writer pen

Card supplies - Spring Birds stamp from Memory Box, MME Stella & Rose Hazel papers, Queen & Co pearls, copics (R32, R35, YG03, YG67, G20, BG13, BG23)

FBW #148 - Buttons & Bows

Happy Wednesday!

I am so excited to bring you a new Flutter By Wednesday challenge - did you know that we had over 200 entries last week - woohoo!! Can we top that this week? I bet you'd like to know the challenge before answering that question right? lol

We'd like to see Buttons AND Bows on your card/project this week (must have both!) along with a butterfly, fairy or angel.  I had so much fun putting my card together! I started by picking out my stamps first - some newer ones from Memory Box ~ Leaf Print Butterfly and Vintage Record Sheet. Then I was going to use some Memory Box paper but I couldn't find it and decided to break open my Pink Paislee Queen Bee 6x6 pad that has been collecting dust for quite some time. In my blog hopping over the past few weeks I have seen a lot of layered embellishments and incorporated a button & bow in one for my card.  I really like how it turned out!  The sentiment is from the Verve Kind Words set.

Flutter By Wednesday #142 – Rainbows or a Rainbow of Colors!

Happy Wednesday!

Today we have a super fun (in my opinion lol) challenge for you at Flutter By Wednesday! We would like to see rainbows or a rainbow of colors along with your butterfly, fairy or angel!

My original plan was to use rainbows & butterflies to create an outdoor scene but then yesterday I had a great idea to break out my Leigh Fairy from PMS (who hadn’t seen ink yet!) and create a card for a special friend of mine. I used the PMS Raindrops & Rainbows set as well for the rainbow and word art that I put inside the card. Yes I decorate the inside of another card, nothing fancy but it’s not plain yay me! It’s a little hard to see but I used crystal stickles on the wings and clouds and diamond glaze on the puddle & raindrops.

Tri-Shutter Friendship Card

On another yahoo group I belong to, Scrap Friendly, we were challenged to create a tri-shutter card. Seeing as I never made one, I decided to finally try it out. I used this SCS tutorial, I had a bit of a tough time getting the card base right...probably since I started it really late last night lol! I incorporated a friendship quote to enter The Paper Variety's friendship challenge.

The paper is Memory Box Brioche, I picked it up at a stamp store a few weekends ago and yes, shocker I cut into it already! The quote is from The Purpose of Friendship set by Paper Makeup Stamps. I accented the card using a Martha Stewart punch, bling from my stash, felt flowers cut out with Nestabilities and an EK Success border punch.

This is the full card~

Another shot with a better view of the quote~
