Cut it Up Challenge #1

Hi friends!

Here is a double page layout that I created at a crop on Saturday for the first challenge at Cut It Up Challenges. The challenge is Anything Goes - just include a die cut. I used circle die-namics and the new flower medley die-namics from MFT.

The layout uses Week #228 sketch from Nuts About Sketches. This was my birthday celebration just a few weeks after we closed on our house in 2009 - before we officially moved in. It was fun to look at these pictures and see how far our house has come since then!  Patterned papers are Imaginisce - All Kinds of Happy and Bazzill cardstock.

Flip flop Birthday

TGIF!!!!

Even happier that tomorrow is Saturday!  I will be at the allergist's office bright and early to get scratched with a bunch of allergies to see what I respond to.  I've been having issues for months now so a re-test is in order to see if I have any new allergies. Hopefully the tests will give us some answers as to why medicines I've tried aren't working as they should.

Today I'm sharing the birthday card I made for my sister. Her birthday was on Tuesday and I went to see her and my cutie pie nephew on Wednesday night. The card was a big hit! I know she LOVES flip flops so I had to have this set to make her a card.

We also have a birthday party tomorrow. No plans for Sunday though so I'm hoping to blog more and create more! Have a great day!

Supplies~
Stamps: Flipping Out (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: cardstock (PTI), Beach Babe (Fancy Pants)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz, Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores (all PTI), Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: rhinstones (Queen & Co.)

A Penguin Birthday

Here's another card I made today!  Last weekend I colored 8 images to match a kit I got last year or the year before from Taylored Expressions. Having all the images pre-colored really speeds up my card making!

My niece is turning 4 this week so I will give this card to her. I know it's not pink LOL!  But it's a card done ahead of time for a change!  The end of the week will be busy for me and I know I won't have time to make a card then.

I used the Techno Stamper Lunchtime Sketch~

Supplies~
Stamps: The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, MME So Sophie Clever
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Other: MFT Chevron Stripes Die-namics, MFT Fishtail Stax, yellow stickles

Go Green with Birthday Sundaes!

Good morning!  Did you remember to turn your clocks ahead?  I am so excited about it staying lighter later!

Today's Birthday Sundaes challenge is to create a birthday card and USE GREEN on it! Don't forget a birthday sentiment/wording on your card front.

This week we are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps - check out all the details {HERE}!

Here is my creation for the week, a very quick and easy card. Some stickers, punches, paper and I quickly whipped this up.

It's not my favorite ever but I didn't have time to color an image and I didn't want to skip another week. The paper is from the K&Company Poppyseed paper pad.

Lots to do today so off I go! Hoping to get in my craft room after I get some housework done!

Get Messy with Birthday Sundaes!

Good morning!

This week's Birthday Sundaes challenge is to "Get Messy"! Create a birthday card using lots of inking, paints, mists. You get the idea. Make a mess and of course, have fun doing it! Don't forget to include a birthday sentiment/wording on your card front.

Our sponsor for this week is Couture Stamping by Candice Fields, an independent CTMH consultant and former Birthday Sundaes DT Member! Candice is giving away the CTMH Fashionista stamp set, shown below. Candice is also offering Birthday Sundaes fans a 10% discount during this challenge. You can find her store HERE and her blog HERE. To receive the discount, please email your order directly to Candice at stampinpearls at gmail . com (remove the spaces).

Here is my creation~

To make my card, first I punched 3 circles and added them to my card with repositionable adhesive. I stamped the sentiment and then ran the card base through my Cuttlebug with the Seeing Spots folder.   I then sprayed my card with 3 different Glimmer Mists - Lemongrass, SWAK, and Dazzling Diamonds. I did a few layers of each (and ended up with a warped card lol - it's safe to say I lack patience in waiting for things to dry!).  I then removed the circles so that I'd have the white spots to add my buttons. Just a tip when using the adhesive, do not use a lot. I used a bit too much and my paper tore when I took the circles off.

I had tons of fun making this card and hope you will join us this week! The Design Team knocked this challenge out of the park - once again!

Super Boy for Birthday Sundaes

Good morning and Happy Superbowl Sunday! I'm not a football fan but I'll use it as a good reason to get together with friends and have a fun time!

Easy peasy challenge this week at Birthday Sundaes! Simply create a new birthday card and remember to include birthday wording/sentiment on your card front. Please click {HERE} to enter your card and see what the DT created this week!

This week's sponsor is Karen's Doodles and they provided some cute images for the DT to use.

The lucky winner will receive 3 digital images of their choice.

Here's my card using Super Boy! I'm trying to get practice making boy/male projects since I'll have a new nephew in May :)

I went with a kraft theme since I didn't have a flat surface to color on at the time I made this card.  A different look for me but I think it works! The designer paper is from the MME Kraft Funday - Happy Days paper (psst...it's on sale at SCACD right now!) The cardstock is all from Papertrey Ink and the sentiment is from the Hooray for Birthdays set by Scrappy Moms Stamps. Such a fun and versatile birthday set! I used my gold spica pen to add a few highlights to Super Boy.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Picadilly birthday card

It's Sunday and even though Birthday Sundaes doesn't have any more challenges this year, I still have a birthday card to share!

Today is my mom's birthday and I broke out my new Basic Grey Picadilly paper and embellishments that I picked up at the LSS a few weeks ago.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches - perfect for the fun flowers! Some of the flowers in the package and fabric and the camera really picked up the texture in them.  The sentiment is from the Birthday Cheer set from Paper Makeup Stamps (which is already sold out - bummer!) - have you shopped their rubber closeout sale yet? If not, check out the details HERE!

Don't faint...I crafted!

My crafty mojo has been zilch...zero...nada lately.  Lots of things swirling around in my head and it's really affected my craftiness. Trying to get myself out of this slump!

Today is my stepdad's birthday and I knew if I handed him a store bought card, he would have been really disappointed. So while dinner was cooking, I pulled out a card kit that I got from Taylored Expressions last year.  The paper is from the Imaginisce Birthday Bash line.

I cut the presents and banner from some of the dp included in the kit and layered it on another piece of dp and voila - a card is complete!

I am entering these challenges:
Birthday Sundaes #37 - Birthday card w/birthday wording/sentiment - my own challenge since I've been very absent :/
4 Crafty Chicks #66 - Birthday
Fab 'n' Funky Challenges #101 - Anything Goes
Cooking It Up with Katie #86 - Anything Goes

Bday Sundaes #35 - Put a Tree on It!

Good morning!

This week's Birthday Sundaes Challenge is to include a tree on your birthday card, as well as the usual birthday wording/sentiment on your card front! Click {HERE} to enter your card and to check out what our Guest Designer, Rayna, and the rest of the DT created. They are so creative in their choice of trees!

Here is my card~

I used the Willow Tree from the Cottage Collection from Paper Makeup Stamps (p.s. it's on sale for $3.00 now!!). I've had it for quite some time and finally inked it up for the first time!  I've had the kraft and black combo in my head for awhile that I've wanted to try and love it. I used my Copic Multi liner pen to doodle some butterflies. :)  I really wanted to add some score lines so the background isn't so boring but I cannot for the life of me find my scoring tools although I have the scoring board LOL!  My room is like the black hole currently and really needs to be cleaned up big time...hopefully the week of Thanksgiving since I will be off from work!

Birthday Sundaes Challenge #31

Good morning!

I'm here with another fun challenge for Birthday Sundaes!  This week the challenge is to create a tall (or long) birthday card.  Click {HERE} to enter your card and to check out the wonderful samples from our Design Team and Guest Designer!

We are being sponsored by:

The winner will get to pick 3 digital images of their choice from the Sweet 'n Sassy shop!
SNSS also provided the Design Team with images to use - thank you SNSS!

I used Fall Arrangement which I've had in my digi collection since sometime last year and this is the first time that I remember using it.  I am so pleased with how the image looks, I haven't been coloring much but taking my time really helped me get back on track. I was inspired by the tiny flowers on the image to use this patterned paper from an old DCWV fall stack.  The layout was inspired by a CPS sketch from a few weeks ago.

I am also entering my card into Challenge #11 - Fall Flowers/Pumpkins at Crafting for All Seasons.

Card Supplies~
Papertrey Ink cardstock - Plum Pudding, Summer Sunrise, Kraft
Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps - Fall Arrangement digital image

leaves from stash

Belated Birthday Card Challenge for Birthday Sundaes!

Good morning!

Today's Birthday Sundaes Challenge should be helpful for lots of people :o)  We are challenging you to create a belated birthday card, don't forget that the birthday wording should be visible on the front of your card. The Design Team really came up with some fun ideas. Click {HERE} to see the samples and enter your card!  Did you see our Guest Designer Sabrina's Spotlight? If not, click {HERE} to check it out!

Here is my take on the challenge~

I found the sentiment in a Fiskars Make a Wish Quotes set that I picked up quite a few months ago at Joann's. I think this is only the second time I've touched this set!  The fabulous paper is new Crate Paper Random that I got from SCACD last week, love the mix of patterns in this pad!  I dug the primas out of my stash and blinged them up. The border punch is also by Fiskars and called Apron Lace.

I used last week's SCS sketch as a jumping point - a great sketch to use something other than an image. I have really been enjoying making cards without coloring, although I'm not sure I make them any faster LOL!!  I spend lots of time looking through all my pretties to decide what to use.

My card for Birthday Sundaes!

I have power again, yay!!!  It came back on about 9:30 pm last night but it was too late to start photographing & uploading pictures then.   We survived Irene with no real damage - just a huge mess to clean up in our backyard, luckily only parts of trees & limbs came down and missed our house thankfully! We lost the food in our fridge & freezer as well, we hope to restock once the stores around here restock their shelves. For now it's pasta, soup or takeout from places that are up & running.  There are still many, many people around the state with no power so I consider us to be very lucky & extremely grateful.

I did read 2 books and made 3 cards during the power outage, so at least I was a little bit productive! We tried to play UNO by candlelight after the flashlights died but it didn't go so well - it's quite hard to differentiate between blue & green with just a flicker of a flame!

Here is the first card that I finished - my DT card for Birthday Sundaes.

As a reminder, the challenge is to create a birthday card using this picture as inspiration (and include birthday wording on the card front).  With all the purple, you may be wondering how the heck I was inspired? I went with the dots & stripes on the flags, the green on the plate and naturally, the cupcakes :)  You can enter your card {HERE}!

Supply List~
Paper: Papertrey Ink Stampers Select white cardstock, Basic Grey Eva
Ink: Stampin' Up Elegant Eggplant
Other: copics, Crystal stickles, Happy Birthday Cuttlebug folder, bling from stash, mini pop dots, Marvy scalloped circle punches

TFL! So happy to be back online!
