Animal bday card using Retro Sketches #3

I finally sat down at my desk today...and sat...and sat.  I flipped through oodles of stamped and printed images and picked out this adorable Birthday Cup Mouse. I found a new to me challenge blog called Retro Sketches and I used this week's sketch for my card layout, except I changed my card to a square since my image was on the larger size.  This is also my challenge card for Birthday Sundaes #48 to use an animal on a birthday card.

Here's the sketch~

Army Wives starts in less than an hour! I am so excited to see Susan Lucci on tonight's episode. I miss All My Children so much!

Supplies:
Stamps - Birthday Cup Mouse by MelJen's Designs, sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps
Paper - Happy Days by Simple Stories
Other - copics, buttons from stash, Cappucino twine from The Twinery, ribbon from my stash

Bday Sundaes #40 along with DYSU #55

Happy Sunday! I hope you all have been having a good weekend!

We've enjoyed some snow and I've spent a lot of time in my crafty room reorganizing. I'm so excited for it to be done so I can share some pictures. I'll be even more excited when spring hits and I repaint & redecorate!

It's time for another Birthday Sundaes challenge!

This week's challenge is to simply create a birthday card and have your birthday wording/sentiment on the front of your card. Please do take a moment to review our rules if you are unfamiliar with them. As a reminder, any cards linked to more than 5 other challenges besides this one will be deleted.

This week we are sponsored by ~

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, freebies every Monday and a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog. Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at our store HERE to browse through all of Melissa's lovely designs! You can also see Melissa's rubber stamps at her corner of Whimsy Stamps, too!

The lucky winner of this week's challenge will receive 4 images of their choosing!

Thank you to MelJens for supplying the DT with some cute images to play with. Check out the blog to see what everyone created this week and enter your challenge card!

Here is my creation using Daisy Pitcher ~

I was inspired by the Patterned Paper challenge at Do You Stack Up to use more of my Lily Bee Head Over Heels paper and the sentiment is from my new Scrappy Moms stamp set - Hooray for Birthdays.

PCC #114 - "In the Pink"

The weekend is over and this is all I have to show for my crafty efforts! I have not been feeling very creative at all and today was the first day I stepped foot in my room since last Monday. I did spend some time cleaning in there earlier today so now I can at least walk in without making piles fall over LOL!

This is my DT card for Friday's PaperCutz Challenge "In the Pink".  We were challenged to create a card, layout or project for Breast Cancer Awareness using pink and any other colors we'd like. Click {HERE} to enter your creation and to check out what the rest of the DT created!

Last weekend I came across some special digis that MelJen's Designs released and had to buy the Pink Ribbon Teddy for my card.

I used this week's Cards & Things sketch and scaled it down for an A2 card for easier mailing.

Supply List:
Stamps: Pink Ribbon Teddy by MelJen's Designs,
Cardstock: DCWV, Papertrey Ink Stampers Select White
Designer Paper: Basic Grey Sweet Threads
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Copics: E25, E27, E29, RV32, RV34

Cooking It Up with Katie #73

Today is Wednesday, it's time for Cooking It Up with Katie!

Our challenge this week includes the following recipe:
  • Sticker (I used Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers)
  • Bling (I swear the brads are sparkly!)
  • Pink
And we have two sponsors for you!  MelJens Designs (who provided us with some fun images to use) and Pizazz A Plenty.  Please check out the Cooking It Up with Katie blog to see all the sponsor details and DT samples and to enter your creation!

Here is my sample card using Book Girl.

I absolutely LOVE how she is colored - I really took my time and the results show.  I was beginning to think that I was losing my coloring abilities but it turns out that rushing is my problem and this power outage taught me to slow down so I can enjoy the process more.  I also think that when I get back into my room (I've been working in the dining room), I'm going to move my desk to a better angle so I can enjoy the natural light more (for the times I actually get to enjoy daylight).

I used this sketch from PaperWorks Co for my card:

Supply List~
Stamps: MelJens Designs Book Girl digi image
Paper: Papertrey Ink Sweet Blush cardstock, Echo Park Paper For the Record, image was printed on Copic Xpress Blend it cardstock
Other: copics, Making Memories brads, Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type stickers

Many Blessings to You!

Here is another card I made on Saturday ~ it is for a Fall Colors swap.

I mixed old and new on this card. I finally opened up a Hero Arts stamp set that I bought 2 years ago, a border punch I bought a year ago and the new is the paper (Imaginisce Apple Cider collection) from this month's Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit. It's hard to see but I embossed the background with my cuttlebug pumpkins folder.

and incorporated these challenges:

MelJen's #30 - Anything Goes
Daring Cardmakers - Autumn Leaves

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Happy Thanksgiving ~ Hero Arts
Paper: Imaginisce Apple Cider Collection, Prism cardstock, image stamped on Georgia Pacific
Ink: Memento
Copics: YR18
Other: EK Success border punch, cuttlebug pumpkins folder, big scalloped circles lg nestabilities

The layout is from last Sunday's OWH sketch challenge, love that it has the measurements on it!

Flutter By Wednesday #108

Happy Wednesday!

Today's challenge is an open one as long as you have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation. We are being sponsored by Meljen's Designs this week and to find out what you can win, be sure to visit the Flutter By Wednesdays blog!

Meljen's Designs generously donated digis for our team to play with, I chose to use Pixie Dust Fairy for my card. I kept it pretty simple to show off this adorable fairy. The sentiment is from The Wild Flower Patch.

For more inspiration please visit my fellow team members listed on my sidebar, and to enter your new creation using a butterfly, fairy or angel, please link it to Flutter By Wednesday blog.

Have a great day!
