Month in Review - February (pics included!)

It's the end of another month, time to check in and see how I've done with my goals.

Stats for the month:
26 cards (no Christmas cards, whoops!)
7 pages scrapped
3 books out of 5 read (I did start the other 2, hope to finish them soon!)
Blog at least 20 times - yep, this is post #23

I made 5 cards today total, one has been posted and I'll share the rest this week. I simply ran out of time to blog tonight!

Here are the layouts I created this month ~ all were created using sketches from various sites, if you have any questions, just leave a comment or email me!

My adorable niece ~

A Joe Nichols concert from a few years ago ~ one event totally scrapped, a miracle I think LOL!

(click on any picture to see a larger version!)

Check back in the morning for the new Squigglefly challenge!

Flopsey has flowers for you!

At the beginning of the month (that seems so long ago lol), I saw THIS post on Triple the Scraps and have been saving it to try. Since the "Weekend Crew" theme this weekend is to use MFT Stamps, I pulled out my Flopsey Flowers since I'm thinking spring :)

Flowers are also the theme challenges at Flourishes Timeless Tuesdays (#55 - use flowers) and Jacksonbelle Embellishments (anything with flowers).

I cut a bunch of MM Chloe's Closet scraps and glued them to a card front size piece of cardstock and then cut out the panel with the Labels 8 nesties. I love how it came out and think I will be doing this again with many of my scraps. I colored the flowers with spica pens and popped up Flopsey with mini pop dots.

If you'd like to see what the rest of the Weekend Crew did, check out the links on my right sidebar!

Ribbons & Cake!

For the last few weeks, I've been looking through old Creating Keepsakes magazines at lunch time, I have found lots of inspiration to finally start using.

I saw a card like this in one of the issues and just knew I had to replicate it! Their card was all ribbon but I knew for a birthday card, I had to add cake since no birthday is complete without cake LOL!

This yummalicious cake is from Jane's Bakery set at Squigglefly, illustrated by artist Jane Beljo. I am entering my card into the following challenges: Charisma Cardz #8 (birthday card and it must include a candle -check!), C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #39 (Ribbon & Sparkle - check & check (candle & plate are sparkly), and last but not least Cute Card Thursday #101 (Ribbon-tastic! - I think I've got that one covered lol!!)

Did you check out Squigglefly's new releases yesterday? If not, get over there, new images for Easter and Spring are out. Next weekend there will be a mini release of paper and images.

Card Supplies
Stamp: Jane's Bakery ~ Squigglefly
Copics: Y35, BG01, E27
Other: American Crafts ribbon, glossy accents, spica glitter pens

I'll be back throughout the day with more cards to share!

I created this card last night for a baby shower I went to this afternoon....the baby's room is a monkey theme, so I was thrilled to find this adorable monkey in my stash of baby stamps :)

Doesn't this green ribbon remind you of a vine? I thought it was so cute with the stamp...and ribbon was our "weekend crew" theme this weekend. I've still got a ways to go before I make a dent in my stash LOL!

Squigglefly Challenge #36

Good morning!

It's Challenge #36 over at the Squigglefly Blog and Maria has challenged us to use an animal on our card/project.

How cute is this bunny? This is Flower Bunny illustrated by Ashley Summers. I wanted to keep the card flat for mailing so I layered the card with Basic Grey Sugar Rush and used my Labels 8 nestabilities and the large deckled rectangles and if you click to make the picture bigger, you can see his cute cottonball tail that I added fun flock to. I then stamped the sentiment right on my image.

To play along and be eligible for the prize, please use an animal theme and make sure to use a Squigglefly image on your card/project and link it to the Squigglefly blog! For more inspiration, please visit the other design team members, links on my left sidebar.

Have a happy day! I know I will as I'm off from work so I can scrap all day :)

This weekend Danni challenged the Weekend Crew to use a stamp or stamp set and make 2-3 cards with it. Since this will be a long post, I'll include the supply list of all cards at the end.

I chose my new Loads of Fun set from There She Goes. When I saw samples made with this set, I just had to have it because it was fun and made me giggle. I really love how clean and nice these stamps stamp!

Here is the first card -

This is the inside -

You Take the Cake!

Well, my snow day is just about over. I did enjoy my day though :)

Final tally: 4 cards and 1 ATC

I realized I needed a birthday card to mail out tomorrow so I put this one together rather quickly. I've had this stamp for a few years now and it's the first time I'm putting it on a card (that I can recall anyways LOL!)

I used last week's Eat Sleep Stamp sketch -

Time to call it a night! I'll be back tomorrow night with another card or two to share :)

Moody for Rock

*Scroll down to see my Flutter By Wednesday card*

Good afternoon! I am so excited to have a snow day today so I can play in my craftroom.

The first card I made uses a very special stamp. Her name is Moody for Rock and she is a digi stamp from Paper Makeup Stamps. Why is she special? Katie released her to help out one of her dear PMS Makeup Artists, Gabby Arriaza. You can read more about this stamp on the PMS blog, HERE.

I had such a fun time putting this card together. The paper is from the DCWV Rock Queen stack and I was inspired to use lots of sparkle by the card that Danni made using this stamp.

I even decorated the inside a little bit so I can use one of the word arts released along with the Moody stamp.

Card Supplies:
Stamp: Moody for Rock, You Rock My World ~ both by Paper Makeup Stamps
Paper: DCWV Rock Queen stack
Copics: E00, E35, E37, BG01, N7, RV34, RV95, R29
Other: Labels 3 & Labels 8 Nestabilities, stardust pen, kaisercraft pearls, EK Success scalloped border punch

Thanks for looking! Off for some lunch and then back to the craft table!

Flutter By Wednesday #96

Good morning! It's a snowy Wednesday here in my part of New England.

It's Flutter By Wednesday #96 and
our challenge this week is to use the theme of Love, however you perceive it, just be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations. We are sooooo very happy to see so many participants entering our challenge. Keep up the great work!!

I found the coolest stamp to use on my card this week :) It's from the Unity set Be "Owl" Mine.

Here is a side view of the card, I stamped cut two butterflies out and layered them for some dimension.

I just love how this card turned out...bright, happy and full of butterfly love!

I used a sketch from Get Sketchy -

Thinking of You

This was the first card I made today. It's bright and happy and makes me smile :)

I've been wanting to use this Techno Stamper's sketch since it was posted a few weeks ago...I knew it would be fun to put together.

Here is my take -

The flowers are from the MFT set Funky Flowers - first time inked, yay! The sentiment and butterflies are from one of my favorite Hero Arts sets - Thinking of You. The paper is scraps from a DCWV stack.

That is all from me tonight. I had high hopes of getting more done but after doing 4 loads of laundry and painting shelves for the scraproom, I have no energy left to craft tonight!

Have a great night and I hope to be back tomorrow night with a new card.

A few more hearts

Here is card #2 using scraps and just a few more hearts :)

I love how this card turned out, I had fun with the hearts and used Glossy Accents on two and diamond stickles on the other two. The Just for You and two stickled hearts from the CTMH set Love of My Life and the other two are from the Sweet N Sassy Stamps set Key to My Heart.

I used the FTL #76 sketch for the layout, I think this will be a go to sketch quite often.

I am also entering this card in these challenges:
If the Shoe Fits #21 - Red, Pink & White
Raise the Bar #4 - Hearts
Stampin' for the Weekend - Valentines themed

To see what the rest of the Weekend Crew is doing with their scraps, check out my right sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by...come back shortly, I will have at least one or two more cards to share!

Hearts Galore

February is off to such a slow start for me! It's the 7th and I've only made 4 cards and 3 of those were today.

This weekend our 'theme' weekend was to use scraps, I hardly made a dent in mine! Here is the first card using the Mojo124 sketch. I love all the layers :)

The dp is all scraps of DCWV paper from one of my many stacks and the stamp is from the CTMH set Love You. You can't tell in the picture but I popped the stamped heart on micro pop dots to give it just a little dimension.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
The Pink Elephant #52 - All About Pink
Creative Card Crew #44 - Valentines
Charisma Cardz #5 - I Love You
Stamp Somethings - Love Somethings
C.R.A.F.T. Challenges #36 - Love/Valentines

Here is the sketch:

Squigglefly Challenge #34

It's Monday and time for another Squigglefly challenge!

Maria's challenge for us today is to make a mostly white card/project with lots of sparkle. EEK!! I had such a hard time with this...my card is okay, but not as good as I had hoped, I tried though!

The image is Cheryl Alger's Cappucino Snowman, she draws the neatest snowmen!

If you click the picture, hopefully you can see the sparkle/shimmer better. I used a clear spica pen on the snowman's hat and Angel Wings shimmerz on his jacket, along with stickles on his scarf and the cappucino. The blue sparkle is the Sky Blue spica pen.

If you'd like to play along, please create a mostly white card/project with sparkle using a Squigglefly image. Please link it to the challenge blog HERE, and be sure to visit the DT's blogs to see what they came up with. The links are on my left sidebar and on the Squigglefly blog.

There is now also a prize up for grabs every week, just be sure to use a Squigglefly image on your entry!

Thanks for stopping by and have a happy day!
