Cut it Up Challenge #1

Hi friends!

Here is a double page layout that I created at a crop on Saturday for the first challenge at Cut It Up Challenges. The challenge is Anything Goes - just include a die cut. I used circle die-namics and the new flower medley die-namics from MFT.

The layout uses Week #228 sketch from Nuts About Sketches. This was my birthday celebration just a few weeks after we closed on our house in 2009 - before we officially moved in. It was fun to look at these pictures and see how far our house has come since then!  Patterned papers are Imaginisce - All Kinds of Happy and Bazzill cardstock.

Sweet Christmas Wishes

As promised, I am back with my DT post for Daydream Designs!

For today's card, I am using the Sweet Christmas Wishes set, it comes with the cupcake and the sweet sentiment.  I just {love} cupcakes and this one is especially yummy.  I had a great time coloring it (except for discovering my R24 marker is bone dry!!) I added cut apart a second cupcake to add the holly leaves by themselves as an embellishment.

I started with today's Feeling Sketchy sketch and incorporated the following challenges as well:

Created with Love Challenges #7 - Christmas plus a die cut (circles were cut with MFT Die-namics)
The Pink Elephant #164 - Use patterned paper
Christmas Card Challenges #40 - Use 3 of something (2 sets of 3 rhinestones for the holly berries)

And with that, pj day is officially over!  I have to go get cleaned up and then clean up the kitchen before we head to my parents for an outdoor dinner. It's so beautiful here today!  I really enjoyed having some time in my craft room during daylight hours!

Flutter By Wednesdays #203

Happy Wednesday...halfway to a long weekend. Woohoo!

The challenge at Flutter By Wednesdays today is to create a card with a butterfly or fairy and decorate the inside of your card. Fun!!  I always love seeing the decorated insides of cards but rarely take the time to do it myself so this was a great challenge for me :)

I decided to make a Gate Fold card using THESE instructions on Splitcoast Stampers.

And here is the inside~

Be sure to join us HERE and check out the rest of the DT cards too.  Links on my left sidebar.

Supplies~
Stamps:  butterflies (Hampton Arts), smile from a Verve set, inside butterfly (Savvy Stamps), inside sentiment from My Pink Stamper
Paper: cardstock from PTI, patterned paper is from Authentique Carefree
Inks: Mocha Mama (Quick Quotes Powder Puff Chalk Inks), Antique Linen (Tim Holtz distress inks)
Other: die-namic from MFT (not sure of the name of it, sorry!)

Adore {a layout}

Happy August!

Sorry my blog has been so quiet. I was sick...again. Ugh!  I think I'm almost over it though. Hopefully this will be the end of my allergies/sinus issues for awhile!!

Tonight I'm sharing a layout that I made on Friday night for my 52 week challenge (yes, I'm still in it!!) and for the Frosted Designs One Word Title challenge.

I created this page using a Page Maps sketch from February.  The picture is of my nieces at my wedding and the one word title challenge was a great push for me to scrap this adorable picture :)

Here is a close up of the picture of the banner I created. The base is lace and I attached it with some brads from my stash and I accented it with gems and the banner pieces were cut from the MFT Fishtail Banner die-namics.

I got a new camera yesterday so I took these pictures with it. I am in love. It's a Panasonic Lumix and has a lot more power/features than my old Lumix did.

I hope to be blogging a lot more this month! I still have a lot of layouts & cards from last month that I haven't shared yet and hope to get in my craft room this weekend to make some new stuff. I've been glued to the TV since Friday night (as I'm sure lots of people are!) Love watching the Olympic games!

Supplies~
Paper: Basic Grey Cappela
Other: BG Cappela bloomers, BG border sticker, Thickers, Marvy Scallop Circle punch, MFT Fishtail Banner Die-namics, lace, brads and gems (all from my stash)

Feel Better Soon

Ok...here is my 2nd try at linking up for the JUGS Challenge #144 lol...

It didn't dawn on me until I looked at the post today that I linked up the wrong card!  That will teach me to preview my darn posts before publishing :)

Here is my card~

I used the Simon Says Stamp July card kit along with stamps from Papertrey Ink. The table, coffee cups and sentiment are from the On My Couch set. I cut the frame from one of the patterned papers in the kit and I stamped a butterfly from the Butterfly Dreams set.  The bird cage was cut from the patterned paper as well.

Here is the sketch ~

Supplies~
Stamps: On My Couch, Butterfly Dreams (both from Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Paper Cottage (Basic Grey), cardstock from kit
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)

Warm Thoughts ~ I Spy Sketches Challenge

Edited to add:  I am a complete dork lol...linked up this card to the wrong sketch challenge.  I have now corrected the post.  I evidently should not blog when I am tired!

Hello again!

Here's another card I made last weekend, this one is for I Spy Sketches #23. I used the July card kit from Simon Says Stamp, the sentiment is from the stamp set included with the kit.  To add some dimension to the card, I curled up the edges of the shaped panel and then I popped up the sentiment strip.

Here is the sketch~

TFL!  I'll be back tomorrow night with another card!

Supplies~
Stamps: Absolutely Delightful stamp set (Simon Says Stamp)
Paper: Paper Cottage (Basic Grey)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), die-namics from MFT, pearls (Kaisercraft), pop dots

Words of Wisdom

Hi crafty friends!

We are halfway through the week!  Woohoo!  No baseball on tonight so I have some extra time to blog the cards I made over the weekend.

This is the card I created for the Sweet Stop Sketch #166.  I had lots of fun playing with my scraps making the double ended flags!  I also tried something new with a "homemade" light box set up - it's not perfected but it's a bit better than my hallway was.  One of these days I'll splurge on a nice box! The papers are all Basic Grey Paper Cottage from the Simon Says Stamp July kit.

Here's the side view so you can see how I popped up the quote panel and added the butterfly to that.

And here is the sketch~

TFL!

Supplies~
Stamps: Words of Wisdom (Verve Stamps)
Paper: Paper Cottage (Basic Grey), kraft cardstock (PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Other: dies from MFT, butterfly punch (Martha Stewart), pearls (Kaisercraft), pop dots

Rockstar Baby

I created this for my 52 week page tonight using this week's Let's Get Sketchy sketch.

This is the very first page I have created of my nephew! It's about time right? LOL!  He is a little over 3 months old now and he keeps getting cuter by the day :)

Here is the sketch~

Supplies~
Paper: DCWV Rockstar stack, PTI silver cardstock
Other: star brads from stash, MFT Star die-namics, thickers

A Penguin Birthday

Here's another card I made today!  Last weekend I colored 8 images to match a kit I got last year or the year before from Taylored Expressions. Having all the images pre-colored really speeds up my card making!

My niece is turning 4 this week so I will give this card to her. I know it's not pink LOL!  But it's a card done ahead of time for a change!  The end of the week will be busy for me and I know I won't have time to make a card then.

I used the Techno Stamper Lunchtime Sketch~

TFL!

Supplies~
Stamps: The Cat's Pajamas
Paper: Bazzill cardstock, MME So Sophie Clever
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics
Other: MFT Chevron Stripes Die-namics, MFT Fishtail Stax, yellow stickles

Happy Father's Day!!

This is my 900th post!!!!!!! Wow!!! I began blogging in 2006 but it was only a handful of posts for a few years and then it became a regular part of my life in 2008.  Here's to 900 more! Woohoo!

I've been on a roll today with making cards so this is a first of 3 posts so that I can get all my cards in before the challenges end.  First up we have a card for my stepdad.  I had such fun making it this morning (don't you wait til the morning of when you need a card? no??  why not?!) I find I work much better under pressure :)

I am sharing this card with The Pink Elephant #152 - Masculine and I Spy Sketches #20 (whose sketch was based off a Lori Boyd card who is the TPE owner!)

Here is my card~

I made an absolute mess while creating this card. First I put together the base of the card and splatted it with Studio Calico Mister Huey's Mists in Manila. Then I masked the image panel with a rectangle and sprayed the mist over it. After that I colored the image, paper pieced the shirt and stamped the sentiment. Next up I cut these tools from MFT Die-namics using silver cardstock from PTI and spritzed them with the mist. Then I had to clean up my huge mess since the mist was everywhere!!

Here's a close up of the tools!

Here is the sketch from I Spy Sketches - I flipped it so I could hang the tools on the bottom of the panel.

TFL!!

Supplies~
Stamps: Moka Tim from Taylored Expressions, Hero Arts sentiment
Paper: PTI cardstock, Basic Grey Granola
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, copics (C9, C7, C5, E11, E00, B99, B97, B95, E59, E57, E55)
Other: ribbon from stash, brads from stash, border punch from Fiskars, MFT tools die-namics, Mister Huey's Manila Mist

SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

Good morning!  Welcome to my stop on the SnC Furever Friends Blog Hop!

If you arrived here from Sandi's blog at Slightly Off Center, you are in the right place. If you just happened to stop by (Hi!!), you can start at Suzanne's blog to see all the wonderful creations along the hop. Here is the complete list in case you get sidetracked by awesome creations on the way :)

Suzanne - Scrap With Suzy
Kristie - Scrap, Color, Read and Repeat (You are here!)

You don't want to miss seeing all the "furry" projects we have for you, as well as chances to win some awesome blog candy!

There are 7 of us in today's hop. We are all online scrapbooking friends in a Yahoo group called Scrappin-N-Chattin.  We love to chat, share our creations and challenge ourselves and each other to create lots of wonderful pages, cards and projects! We do tend to get chatty but that is part of the fun :)  We have so many activities, challenges and prizes to keep you scrappin' those memories.

One of the activities we have is a rak called It Girl.  There is a group or two of names and each group starts with one person and then that person will select a name and send a RAK gift off the person's wishlist.  The recipient then will pick a name from that list, shop and send a RAK to another name and so on. It's always fun to get a surprise in your mailbox!

You can visit our group {HERE}! We love to meet new people :) We also love to blog hop and share lots of inspiration from around the web.  For today's hop, we each created a "furry" project.  Instead of scrapping my adorable "baby" Amber, I chose to do a bookmark and a few cards. All tutorial links and supply lists are located way at the bottom since this is a long post!

First up we have my first ever corner bookmark! It was so much fun to make and I see a lot of them in my future :)

Next up is an easel card. It's one of my favorite 'fun' folds. It's so easy and makes a nice impact on a card. Especially when you have a larger image like mine.

My final creation is a card using a new stamp I bought a few months ago.  I couldn't resist this cutie and her puppy! The layout of the card is using Sweet Sunday Sketch #160

And for the heck of it, here is a picture of my girl :) She loves to hang out behind the couch cushion LOL. She was being a lazy doggy yesterday morning.

It wouldn't be a blog hop without candy, right?!

Here is what I am offering:

For your chance to win these awesome Basic Grey goodies (and believe me, you do *want* them as they are hard to find since they are JoAnn Store exclusives!!), please leave a comment on this post.  If you would like to become a follower (if you aren't already), I would love for you to do that but it's not a requirement to win.  I also have a fan page for my blog on Facebook, if you would like to follow me there. Click {HERE} for that page.

Thank you for stopping by my blog today! I hope you enjoyed viewing my creations and will visit again soon.  Prize winners will be announced on Thursday (mine will be posted at night since I work during the day).

Your next stop on the hop is April at Scrapper Forever!

All Dressed Up ~ a layout

Happy Saturday!

It's been a lazy day here...a few errands, some cleaning up in my scraproom, reading book #3 of the Fifty Shades trilogy and some coloring!

I'm sharing a layout I did during the NSD crop last month.  I did use a sketch for the layout but I have no idea where my notes are right now.  The flourish and flowers were all cut from MFT Die-namics and the paper is from my ancient stash, felt good to use it up!

That is me in the picture several years ago dressed up for my bridesmaid duties in my bff's wedding :)

Have a flippin' great birthday!

Well I promised this card on Thursday and even though it's late, it's still Thursday!

I've been reading Book #2 of the Fifty Shades trilogy - even better than the first! I'm trying to pace myself through it though lol.

When I saw the Flipping Out set that was released at Papertrey Ink earlier this month, I knew I had to get it along with the coordinating die.  I have quite a few summer birthdays that it is perfect for!

My friend Courtney's birthday is on Sunday and this is the card I gave her last night. Happy to report that she loved it :)

I even decorated the inside! The sentiments on the front and inside are both from the stamp set and I used the die to cut the flip flops from the Fancy Pants Beach Babe paper that I used on the card.  The sentiment on the front of the card is one long line but I inked up each half and stamped it to fit in the space that I had.

The layout was from Just Add Ink - super cute and perfect for me to use my MFT Circle Stax dies with!

Tomorrow's Friday. Woohoo!! It seems like it's been really long for a short week!

Supplies:
Stamps: Flipping Out from Papertrey Ink
Paper: Fancy Pants Beach Babe
Ink: Memento
Other: Flipping Out die, brads from stash, MFT Die-namics Circle Stax 2

Giraffe Girl

Good morning!

I'm popping in to share a card I made at the end of April and then forgot to post it (thus missing the challenge it was created for, oops!)

I buy a lot of stuff from MFT and it was my goal to use the stamps from the VIP package at least once before they were officially released. I did accomplish my goal but I was the only one to know LOL!

This cutie pie is Giraffe Girl from the MFT Pure Innocence line. I so love these little girls!

The sketch my card is based off of~

I'll be back tomorrow with that birthday card to share! Have a great day!

Supplies~
Stamps: Giraffe Girl by MFT
Paper: Bo Bunny Zoology
Ink: Memento, copics
Other: dienamics flower, pop dots

Mimosa's Summer Flower

Happy Sunday! I'm so glad that I still have one more day ahead of me to enjoy!

Here is a card I created this afternoon~

This is Mimosa's Summer Flower from Bildmalarna and I paired her up with Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter (card #5 from this pad).  For the layout I used Freshly Made Sketches #33 (although I flunked the clean part of the challenge so I won't be entering lol). Instead of squares I chose to use my MFT Die-namics Pretty Posies for the die cut challenge at Hotshot Craft Challenge.

Here is the sketch~

Off to watch This Means War with my hubby. Love Reese Witherspoon!

Supplies~
Stamps: Mimosa's Summer Flower by Bildmalarna
Paper: Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter
Ink: Memento (Tuxedo Black, London Fog), copics
Other: MFT Die-namics Pretty Posies, Scatterd Straw Distress Stickles (on the flower)

Odette for Mojo Monday #242

This is my 3rd post today. If you would like to see what else I've created, scroll down :)

Hi again!

I am having so much fun creating tonight!  This is my 4th card using the Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter paper pad. 2 more images to go and I think I'll still have lots of paper left over. Thinking I should start making some 'scrap' cards with the leftovers. I've got a board on Pinterest dedicated to those types of cards.

I paired up Odette from The Greeting Farm with the Mojo Monday #242 sketch.

For the border piece under the image, I used a negative from the chevron stripes I used on my last card :)

Here is the sketch~

Supplies~
Stamps: Odette from The Greeting Farm
Paper: Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter
Cardstock: green (PTI), red (misc. from my stash)
Ink: Memento, copics
Other: Kaisercraft pearl, MFT Die-namics Pretty Posies

I Spy Sketches #17

This is my 2nd post for today. Scroll down if you'd like to see my wedding layout! :)

Today has been such a wonderful day!  We had a great time at my parents with my sisters and their kiddies.  Lots of food and fun!

I'm here to share card #3 that I've made with the Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter paper pad.  I used yesterday's sketch at I Spy Sketches. Their sketches are always fun and I hope to play along more often.  The sample card that the sketch was based off used chevrons so it was just the inspiration I needed to use my MFT Chevron Stripes Die-namics for the first time!

Here's the sketch~

Supplies~
Stamp: The Greeting Farm (sorry I don't recall her name!), hello from a Paper Smooches set (I added part of a line to the h since it looked like nello LOL!)
Paper: Basic Grey Scarlet's Letter
Cardstock: misc from my stash
Ink: Memento, copics
Other: Lemon Ice stickles, MFT Chervron Stripes Die-namics, cuttlebug embossing folder

You Sparkle

TGIF and Cheers to a long weekend!

I got out of work early today so I decided to start putting cards together with the images I colored on Sunday.  There are so many layers on this one that it took me awhile!

In addition to trying to use my Basic Grey stash this week along with Danni, I also need to start using more cardstock and my tools like embossing folders and dies.  I was able to use all those things on this card, go me! I picked out several shades of cardstock that matched this paper pad and will see how I do using it over the next 5 cards that I have images colored for. For my layout, I used this week's CPS sketch (shown below).

Here's another look so you can see the dimension~

And here is the sketch from CPS~

Supplies~
Stamps: Twinkle Fairy by Stamping Bella, Happily Ever After by Scrappy Moms Stamps (sentiment)
Cardstock: red (misc. brand), green (PTI), black (DCWV)
Paper: Basic Grey Scarlett's Letter
Ink: Memento, copics
Other: sizzix embossing folder, Queen & Co. rhinestones, pop dots, star dust stickles, Die-namics Scallop Ribbon border
