Beach or Travel for PaperCutz #94!

Happy Friday!!!

This 4 day week went by FAST! Any fun plans for the weekend?  We plan to work cleaning up our yard more and I hope to get some more crafting done!

Today's PaperCutz Challenge is to create a card, layout or project with a beach or travel theme using any colors you'd like! I have had this stamp for AGES!  I can't recall EVER using it!! Seriously! I know my sister used it for a swap many, many years ago but I really don't think I ever made anything using it!  If you would like to play along with us at PaperCutz this week, please click HERE!

{Don't get blinded by the Smooch! LOL!}

Very simple and flat, easy for mailing! The paper is from a Making Memories Travel pad that I picked up quite some time ago at Big Lots.  I've had this stuff set aside to make a scrapbook for the postage stamps I've saved over the years. I used to collect them when I was a kid and started again when I started swapping cards with people all over the world.

I am also entering this card into Shopping Our Stash #2 - Oldies But Goodies Challenge. My Guest Designer position starts with their next challenge on Tuesday! Can't wait to share what I've made for it!

Christmas in July Day 3

Here is today's card, still no coloring LOL! This is probably the longest time I've gone without using my copics!

I dug through my extensive stash of Christmas embellishments and found these neat 3d stickers from Me & My Big Ideas, they were a perfect fit for sketch SC285.

Here is the sketch~

I am entering this card in the Fussy & Fancy Christmas in July challenge.

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo
Paper: Basic Grey Wassail
Ink: Memento
Other: MAMBI stickers

Saturday Spotlight #20

So when I saw this Saturday Spotlight challenge "Clean It Up" - make a clean & simple card....ack, really??? I think I make simple cards but they tend to have lots of busy paper which makes them look less simple (if that makes any sense at all LOL!!!)

I've been wanting to try last week's Clean & Simple Fall to Layout #79 and thought both challenges together would work out well and I was right!

I made this card last night to send to one of my cousins that had a baby boy last week. The adorable image is from my friend Terry.

Here is the layout ~

Card Supplies
Stamps: House Mouse, Inkadinkadoo
Paper: DCWV, misc. cardstock
Ink: Memento
Copics: B21, B23, R81, E00, T1, T3
Other: Marvy punch, Swiss Dot Cuttlebug folder

Flutter By Wednesday #80

Its the 80th Flutter By Wednesday today! Are you ready to flutter with us?

No special challenge this week, just create something using a butterfly or fairy!

Today I am sharing Flutterby Anya with you. She was sent to me by the Queen Flutter By herself, Ms. Danni, isn't she cute!

I used SK091909 - a Paper Craft Planet sketch. I just love using sketches, they are a great starting point when I have no idea what I want to do. I used Labels Four Nestabilities to frame Anya and I edged her with SU Tempting Turquoise ink. She's colored with Copics (E00, R11, RV11, RV14, B02, E25, E27, Y35) and covered in Star Dust stickles. I wanted to use my spica pens, but I haven't a clue which box they are packed in. The dp is Basic Grey Urban Prairie, when I decided on my image, I knew I wanted her to be bright and fun!

Be sure to link to Danni's blog if you play along and visit my dear flutter by mates, links on the left sidebar!

In other exciting news, I have started painting my scraproom! I just love the pink I picked out, is Eddie Bauer Light Pink from Lowes. The trim will still be brown, just a shade lighter than what it is now.

Some more eye candy for you...these were taken at Kent Falls in Kent, CT a few weeks ago.
Thanks for stopping by!

Challenge 39 - House Mouse Birthday

Its the House Mouse Challenge Blog's 1st birthday!

It so happens that I have a cousin celebrating a first birthday party today, so I made him this card.

I had a good time creating this card last night. The sketch was inspired by this week's Twisted Thursday #12. I got to play with my copics ~ I think my cupcake looks divine! I also used my nestabilities for the first time in my Cuttlebug. I don't know why I waited so long!! They really cut quite easily - if you have them and haven't used them in the Cuttlebug yet, watch THIS awesome tutorial by Gina K. Designs. It is wonderful! I started another card this morning using a different nesties set, I'm addicted now!

The Recipe:
Stamps: Make a Wish 02 ~ House Mouse Stampabilities, sentiment ~ Inkadinkadoo
Paper: GP, DCWV
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, More Mustard ~ Stampin Up
Copics: E00, E33, E35, R81, YG25, B14, YR24
Accessories: Xtra Giga Oval Scalloped punch ~ EK Success, Ribbon Tag Trio ~ Nestabilities, ribbon ~ American Crafts

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoy your day.

Inchies!

Here is the last card that I created over the weekend...gotta get some more stuff created so I can keep up the daily posting! I have not done a thing this week!

I created this card for an inchies swap. I originally intended to create my own inchies using techniques I learned at a stamp club, but I was pressed for time and decided to use some new Inkadinkadoo sets that I purchased a few months ago. I thought they looked lovely with this Pretty Poppies paper from Autumn Leaves.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Special Thoughts and Butterflies & Birds ~ Inkadinkadoo
Paper: GP, Pretty Poppies ~ Autumn Leaves
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, red spica glitter pen

Flutter By Wednesday #55

Happy Flutter By Day!

It Flutter By Wednesday over at Danni's Dreams! Today's challenge was to use red, white & blue with your butterfly or fairy. I chose to use this fun butterfly image from Inkadinkadoo. I've seen my friend Terry use it quite a few times and I finally found my uninked set.

I'm not sure you can see it in the photo, but the background is a glittered card base from DCWV Christmas card box. It was slightly challenging getting the butterflies two different colors, but I think I finally got it right LOL! The fun ribbon is some new ribbon that Michaels has out in the patriotic stuff, I fell in love with it when I first saw it and finally got back there the other day to get it with a coupon.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Patterned Bugs ~ Inkadinkadoo
Paper: Paper Company, Georgia Pacific, DCWV glittered card base
Ink: Ladybug ~ Memento, Night of Navy ~ Stampin Up, red & clear spica pens
Accessories: D'vine Swirl cuttlebug folder, Fiskars threading water punch, EK Success scalloped corner punch, ribbon ~ Michaels

Celebrate!

I created this card for last Monday's Mojo Monday #78. I've been so busy scrapping that I haven't had a chance to post in the last few days.

I shortened the main panel a bit since the stamp I picked wasn't as long. I had fun mixing all these new Basic Grey Marrakech papers and using my new Inkadinkadoo stamp. I used the clear spica pen on the frosting layers of the cake but it doesn't show up in the picture.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Inkadinkadoo, Studio G
Paper: GP, Basic Grey Marrakech
Ink: Rich Cocoa ~ Memento
Accessories: ribbon ~ American Crafts, yellow stickles ~ Ranger

Thinking of You with a Flutter By

I just love this card! It screams spring and sunshine to me, meanwhile its gray and icky out. Rain later and maybe snow this weekend. Spring get here soon please!

I started with the sketch for the card. Its Sketch #84 on Sketches by Tamara this week. Fun sketch and you can do many things with it.

Next up, I decided to make this a butterfly card for Danni's Flutter By Wednesday. The extra challenge this week was to make the card orange and yellow. These are not colors I use a whole lot so I had to dig for some paper. Luckily my new MM Chloe's Closet is nice and springy with these colors in it. The butterfly is Gem Stone Butterfly from Inkadinkadoo, its from their new releases.

And lastly, since this is a springy card, it qualifies for the Stamp Simply #76 Cabin Fever. I definitely have Cabin Fever. Hopefully spring will come soon and I'll start to see flutter bys while I'm out and about.

The Recipe:
Stamps: Gem Stone Butterfly ~ Inkadinkadoo, Say It in Style ~ CTMH
Paper: GP, Chloe's Closet ~ Making Memories
Ink: Tuxedo Black ~ Memento, Pumpkin Pie ~ Stampin Up
Accessories: Diamond Stickles ~ Ranger
