Scrappin' Saturdays

I have been wanting to get myself on a schedule of sorts for scrapping.  I always make time for cards but never enough time for scrapping my memories. I hope to start sharing at least one page every Saturday from now on - and I have roped Danni into doing it with me :) And she is inspiring me to use my Cricut more as she is trying to use hers more too!

Today's page is another for the sunflower maze that Mike and I visited about 3 years ago.  My friend Jen and I were going to go last weekend but Irene messed those plans up.  I was so looking forward to seeing it as it was in the shape of a butterfly and I think we all know I love butterflies!

I started with Sunday's Studio Calico sketch, in place of the smaller pictures I decided to take two pictures and turn them into mosaics.

Here is my take on the sketch~

I love how the title turned out!  First I cut the title in the orange and then I cut the shadow in brown.  When I was re-cutting the shadow (first time I ran out of paper!), I discovered the word petals by itself on another screen so I cut that in the patterned paper. I think that may be the first time I've ever cut multiple layers for a title and I love how it turned out!

Supply List~

  • Crate Paper Lemon Grass - Lime, Straw, Poppyseed papers
  • Crate Paper Lemon Grass glitter borders
  • Cricut Country Life Cartridge for the title
  • Bling from stash
TFL!

Out of the Box with Lasting Memories!

It's time for another Lasting Memories challenge! Did you know that we are going weekly as of this week? Be sure to check the Lasting Memories blog each Sunday for an all new challenge and lots of inspiration!

Today's challenge is called "Out of the Box". We want you to try something completely new to you! I finally decided to try out a mosaic picture on my layout. It really wasn't hard at all. Just a tip: be sure to label the pieces before you cut them! It makes it a lot easier to piece back together :)

If you would like to try this technique, here are a few tutorials I found: HERE and HERE.

You can link up your 'Out of the Box' challenge to the Lasting Memories blog by 9:00 EST on Friday for a chance at the Top 3. We'd love to see what you come up with!

Have a great day!
