Scrapbook Saturday is back!

I finally have something to share on Scrapbook Saturday!

Last Saturday I spent the day at the Papercraft Clubhouse and crafted the day away with some good friends.

I decided to share all 4 pages at once since they are for the same album. I did use sketches for all of them but I was a slacker and didn't write them down lol.

I attended my first scrapbook retreat in San Antonio, TX in 2006 and these are just some of the photos that I and the rest of the girls took!

 {I think this one is my fave!}

I'm back!!!

I know most of you didn't even know I was gone LOL!

Mike and I left last Sunday for Walt Disney World to celebrate our belated honeymoon and 1st wedding anniversary. We stayed on WDW property at the Caribbean Beach Resort and really enjoyed our entire 6 days there, even though I caught a cold and haven't been feeling well since Wednesday.  I have tons of pictures to share but I need the energy to really sift through them all to organize and edit them.

Here's one pic from our character breakfast at the Animal Kingdom, this was our 2nd day there :)

I hope to get back on track with visiting and commenting soon! Thank you for all the comments on my projects this week :)

The Venetian at Night

Managed to combine 2 challenges for this page!

The first is the Scrapfriendly Yahoo Group NSD Challenge #1
Include an OLD photo (s), papers & tools
Check, check & check!

These photos were taken in October 2004 about 5 months after I started scrapbooking.
Yes, I'm still scrapping this trip.  To be fair I've put this project aside for a number of years for a number of reasons. A challenge is a challenge though and I knew these pics would be perfect.  It took longer than I thought to pick out the pics because when I was going through them - oh wow, I saved some horrid pics! Blurry, out of focus, dark - you name it. Those all went bye bye and now the pile is a lot more manageable!

I am so thankful I switched to a good digital camera after this trip. I've saved myself lots of $ in bad film pictures LOL! I also took the time to look through the pages I have done and this new page is done in similar fashion (well of course it is since I'm using ancient supplies!)

The other challenge is for the May with May class - Day 3 was to make photo corners. So I took my old tools - decorative scissors if you couldn't tell (lol!) and used them on the photo corners. When I was looking through the album I saw that I used the deco scissors a lot then, I was surprised! I was creative with less supplies (who knew!)

In 7 years of papercrafting I have come a long ways in terms of style and supplies but I have realized that I still enjoy using the 'old' stuff which is good since I have lots!

Off to create some more!

The Riverwalk

A bunch of dear friends from a Yahoo group held their annual retreat this past weekend and ever since then I've been feeling a little blue about missing it for a 2nd year in a row. I sure hope that things work out so I can see them next year.

To make me feel a little better, I decided to scrap some pics from the very first retreat I went to in San Antonio back in 2006. These pics are from The Riverwalk where we dined and celebrated Shirley's birthday and our friendship. So many amazing memories from that trip and the other retreats in Los Angeles and Boston. Yes, I've traveled coast to coast to see these girls!

I am entering this layout in the "Lasting Memories" design team call...Karen wants to see what represents our style and such. I love to scrap multiple pictures and use lots of flowers and brads so that's what I did tonight. And yes, I recently left my dts since I feel I didn't have enough time with planning my wedding, but I discovered that I really do love to be super busy and having idle hands drives me nuts LOL!

A Day at the Fair!

Mike and I went to the Big E fair on Tuesday. We had a really good time. We walked around for 8 hours, ate lots of good food and watched a very cool circus. I bought a few Beckett trading cards and a bunch of rubber stamps from Sarasota Stamps. I can't wait to use them (along with the ones I bought there last year LOL!)

Here are a few pics from our day:

YUMMY Maine baked potatoes!

Its me and Harrison Ford in the Connecticut building!

Aw what a cute Alpaca!

Its Tiffany!! It was cool to hear her sing a song that I sang in my teen years. Its not that great of a picture, but my camera doesn't take very good night pics :(

Isn't this amazing? Its made of all butter! Incredible!!

and way cool pumpkin art!

Can't wait to go again next year!

Back from the City of Brotherly Love!

Mike and I went to Philly for a mini vacation - our first one :) We took the train which was so nice. Relaxed and read a book on the way there and another on the way home. It was a whirlwind trip of the city but I think we saw almost everything and walked at least half of it.

On Friday, we went to the Eastern State Penitentiary. Al Capone was in jail there. It was very cool and creepy. We also saw the Museum of Art, got a lot of great pictures of everything around there. Here are a few pics of the jail and then one of the city taken from the steps of the Art Museum.

On Saturday, we went to the Philly Zoo which was a lot of fun. Again tons of pictures, lots of cool animals. Here is a goofy pic of Mike and I with a giraffe in the background.

On Sunday, we went to Love Park, Franklin Square and Logan Square. Oh and we went to the Liberty Bell, the Betsy Ross House and some other historical stuff. Here is one side of a really cool sandcastle in Franklin Square.
Here is a pic of Mike in another plaza - I forget the name. It was so neat though. There were large game pieces everywhere. Dominoes, monopoly pieces, sorry pieces and chess pieces.
Here we are at Love Park :)

Nice shot of an important building (i think...) Couldn't get close enough to see a name of what it was and a cop was shooing everyone away.

Its so hard to remember it all now! We didn't get to have a real Philly cheesesteak though, all the good places close at 6 pm! All in all, we had a great time together :) Now to edit and choose which pics to print and scrap...between the 2 of us we took almost 800 pics. Think we like taking pics or what?

3 down, 5 to go!

I'm on a semi-roll now to finish up my 8 page goal for this month on one of my Yahoo groups. I've missed goal the last few months now. I had hoped to be done already since I had the whole week off, but as you see I've been pretty busy with other crafts. The paper is from a provocraft slab and the letter stickers are by Cloud 9 - the Sicily & Naples collections.
