PTT #5

Today's PTT challenge is "Anything Goes Birthday", don't forget the birthday greeting/sentiment!

I created a card for my boss' birthday that is this coming weekend - it's not easy to keep coming up with these masculine cards...I need to make another one in a few weeks LOL

I used one of Mercy's fab sketches for the layout, MTSC78.

I also found these challenges to enter:
Charisma Cardz #25 - for the boys
Paper Sundaes #24 - birthday
Stamp with Fun #65 - birthday

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Alphabet Soup ~ Stampin' Up
Paper: Quite Contrary ~ My Mind's Eye
Ink: Memento (and yay, I inked all the edges and didn't end up wearing any of it LOL!!)
Other: EK Success border punch

To play along, please check out the details on the Party Time Tuesdays blog and for more inspiration, you can check out the design teams' cards - links on my left sidebar!

Make Mine Chocolate!

What can be better than a yummy baked chocolate treat? he he he

Here's the other card I made over the weekend using Cuppie in the Kitchen and paper/buttons/ribbon from the June Key Ingredients Kit from Taylored Expressions. Loving this kit!

I used this week's Taylored Expressions sketch challenge for the layout~

Life is short...eat dessert first!

I love that saying LOL!

Here is a card I made at my crop yesterday. All the paper and ribbon are from the Taylored Expressions June Key Ingredients kit. The adorable cuppie is from the Cuppie in the Kitchen TE stamp set.

For the layout, I used this week's Pals Paper Arts sketch ~

TFL! Hope you all had a great weekend!

A little news to share...

I've been selected to be a Guest Designer for July and August for...

How exciting! I've never designed for a layout challenge before and am looking forward to it! The first challenge will be posted next Sunday on July 4th!

I've got a busy day ahead of me but I'll be back later with another post! I went to a crop at friend's yesterday and did 21 8x8 pages for my niece's baby book and 2 cards, so I've got plenty to share this week.

Have a great day!

The Riverwalk

A bunch of dear friends from a Yahoo group held their annual retreat this past weekend and ever since then I've been feeling a little blue about missing it for a 2nd year in a row. I sure hope that things work out so I can see them next year.

To make me feel a little better, I decided to scrap some pics from the very first retreat I went to in San Antonio back in 2006. These pics are from The Riverwalk where we dined and celebrated Shirley's birthday and our friendship. So many amazing memories from that trip and the other retreats in Los Angeles and Boston. Yes, I've traveled coast to coast to see these girls!

I am entering this layout in the "Lasting Memories" design team call...Karen wants to see what represents our style and such. I love to scrap multiple pictures and use lots of flowers and brads so that's what I did tonight. And yes, I recently left my dts since I feel I didn't have enough time with planning my wedding, but I discovered that I really do love to be super busy and having idle hands drives me nuts LOL!

Background paper is Bazzill and the dp is Basic Grey Stella Ruby.

Olive the Otter

Isn't she the cutest otter you've ever seen?

Olive arrived in the mail today and I inked her up right away (that is a definite FIRST lol!!!) I was heading out with my sister and decided to use Olive on her birthday card.

I used the sketch at Cute Card Thursday ~

I also decorated the inside a little bit ~

My sister just turned 29, so I just had to use this stamp when I saw it LOL. I also added some comments about her turning 30 next year {giggle} and yes, I can tease her all I want since I'm 3 years older! he he he

Card Supplies~
Stamps: Olive the Otter ~ Paper Makeup Stamps, front sentiment ~ Studio G, inside ~ Birthday Greetings from Sweet N Sassy Stamps
Paper: PTI cardstock, SEI Happy Day designer paper
Ink: Memento
Copics: R81, R85, B000, B01, E31, E25, E29
Other: Scalloped border (EK Success or Fiskars, can't remember which lol), MM brads
