One Little Word...

Another thing I've been contemplating is One Little Word for 2011...

There are many to choose from as I want to make a lot of changes in how I approach life in this new year...

As I was doing my 'Favorites' post, the word struck me and it is...

CREATE

I can apply this word to many aspects of my life~
  • Create a healthier version of me
  • Create a tidier home
and most importantly, CREATE for myself! When the end of this year rolls around, I hope to have created a lot of cards, pages and projects to look back on and in doing so not have comprised myself by pushing too hard to just 'get it done'. I want to take my time and enjoy the creative process.

Favorites of 2010 - Part 1

I've been trying to decide if I wanted to do a 'favorites' post as I've seen many do over the last week or so. I finally was able to narrow my choices down tonight so here are the first 6 months:

January 2010

February 2010

March 2010

April 2010

May 2010

June 2010

I hope you enjoyed the look back at some of my favorite cards, layouts and projects!
I'll post the rest soon!

Happy 2011!

Happy New Year!!

I'm hoping this year will be a great one for me both personally and creatively!

In reviewing the goals I set last January...I didn't meet a single one {sigh}. In realizing this, I've taken some actions to reduce the commitments/stresses in my life so hopefully this new year will be a more productive one.

Here are some of my goals...I am trying to be more realistic in setting and approaching them, wish me luck!
  • Spend more quality time with my husband
  • Create my wedding thank you cards - for those that don't know the wedding was in September 2010!
  • Organize my printed photos and print new pictures on a monthly basis
  • Take the Copic class that I won on FBW in September 2010
  • Complete the Sketch 106 class from November 2010
  • Complete the Colour! Or is it Color? class from November 2010
  • Unpack and finish moving stuff from my mom's (seeing as I've lived here over a year!)
  • Get my scrappy room in working order so I don't feel so overwhelmed in there
  • Complete one item on the house to-do list each month
  • Pay off 50% of my debt by December 2011
  • Read more books
  • Commit to making less commitments!
I'll be reviewing this list here on the 1st of every month to keep myself on track!

PTT #27

Today's Party Time Tuesdays challenge is 'Anything Goes Birthday Card', just remember to include birthday wording on your card front! You can upload your card HERE, while you are there please take a moment to wish our current DT a fond farewell. The new DT starts next week!

Here is my card for the week ~ it's a last minute birthday card that I needed, a masculine card at that lol. The paper is from a DCWV Christmas stack.

Have a great day!

Last Challenge of the Year for PaperCutz!

Today is the last PaperCutz challenge of the year. The team is taking a break over the holidays. I hope you will join us for some fun this week!

Our challenge for you is to create a card, layout or craft project for New Year's using a banner. I had the hardest time with this LOL...the banner part was easy but the New Year's part?? I couldn't decide on paper and then I couldn't find the stamp set I wanted to use. Plan B was put into action!

Here is my take on the challenge~

I used Basic Grey Jovial paper and the banner is cut using the Papertrey banner dies, love them! The banner string and numbers are from the Papertrey Banner Builder stamp set. The champagne glasses and sentiment are from an older Angel Company set that has never seen ink until last night. So I got to mix old and new on my card, yay!

You can enter your creation and check out the rest of the design team samples HERE.
